This.....exists?!? I've grown so tired of playing the AI in the iOS app, I usually play with certain personal restrictions like ports only or just two resources to farm. Excited to check this out! Also interested in seeing some ranked gameplay, think it's my first ever for this game haha
@@Schloopity in first they got the best spot with first pick but their second pick was solely for sheep and overloaded them on brick. They should've grabbed 963 to wheat port and sheep. You picked a really weak ows which puts you behind red who already has best ows potential. You should've went 1095 and 963. You can easily build to ore and ports and you control the whole map so knights become useless.
For second it'd be better to take control of great dev start with 964 on ore. You don't need to compete for roads and it's not viable to get both ports for them. Dev card advantage is great on its own but that came with good roads and easy sheep and wheat to grab. If the went 11/10/9 then they're forced to pick 8/5/10 for the wheat and you have best sheep. You can also entirely block off ore.
10/8/5 also makes it more a gamble while his 4 is tied to ore 4 which didn't roll all that much but if his second was 11/10/9 he could've blocked any cities or dev cards and those rolled a lot. So your second game is really a bet. It worked strongly in your favor but he could've built first settle on 11/10/9 or 4/5/11 to 3/11/6 if his second settle was 11/10/9 and he'd have all the ore and dev cards and have enough space to expand for 15.
@@shawnruby7011 In the first game I heavily considered the road building setup of 6 9 3 & 5 9 10 and mid game definitely considered it the better setup, saying I was kind of sad for not taking it. The ports would have been powerful, so the lack of ore probably wouldn't have mattered, but no ore is never easy. I think my opponent misplayed with their second placement, and that certainly helped. I agree that my setup is too low on production to typically work as OWS, but thankfully we pulled off the win.
