@@bhoomeerg8045 ofc it matters. Having a middle man translator is alot more uncomfortable than being interviewed by some1 with a bad accent. I've had to do such translation in many occasion, and i can tell you the barrier of communication between both parties is much thicker than a native and a non native with a bad accent speaking

Nice to see fighters being interviewed in their native language, especially when a well known reporter is able to give the interview without a translator. This was cool.

@@musiccitymadman2023 Yeah.. this comments section is riddled with state sponsered bot accounts saying the same comment over and over without actually diving into THE ACTUAL FIGHT... Like Hundreds of comments saying "WOW GEAT INTERVIEW IN MANDARIN!!".. The reason they are doing this is because of all the bad press she got last time because Rose is so adored by MMA fans. So they resort to bot accounts saying the same thing that upvote each other to surpress any comments about the last fight or her getting knocked out. If you were to just read the comments not knowing anything about the fighter, you would think she never lost and you would also know that the interview was in Mandarin... On any of the other comments sections of her videos, you see actual fans having discussions. This is just a Chinese state circle jerk for Weili.
Oh probably half are chi-comm bots and the other is clueless kool-aid drinkers. Watch out I may have triggered them. They will be coming out the woodwork. Gotcha back bro.

this interview made me realise we need more interviewers that are bilingual. This was so authentic to watch, and at least we dont have the loss in translation like the ones that happen witha translator

I prefer an interview with subtitles rather than hearing from a translator.

For sure, apparently the current translator SUCKS at his job. What I read, the translations he did were stripped of all flavour/personality/humour/details etc. Just a super bad translator. The guy translated Li Jingling.. a guy with great charisma fighting tomorrow.. From what I read, this guy simplified what Li said so much that only the most basic meaning was left. Like when your talking to a 4 year old. Real real bad!

Great interview. It would of been nice to hear where she feels Rose has the advantage. I am guessing speed and movement as the obvious ones. Weili looks like she put on a lot of muscle.
Rose has all the advantage.
Rose has the advantage in every aspect. Especially the mental side. All Zhang has done since she woke up after getting KO'd is complain and try to throw politics in the mix to garner as much sympathy as possible. That's a scumbag move and if she was humble and actually gave Rose credit instead of storming out the octagon like a 3 year old, I would still be a fan.
Rose staying conscious is her usual advantage.
