- A weak tornado wrecks havoc in downtown Hugo, OK, ripping the siding
off of buildings and signs. The tornado moves debris into the street,
and produces some nice dancing vortices towards the end of its life.

I watch tornado videos every day...I am a retired 30 year Air Traffic Controller in ATL, who studied weather for years. My wife and I have chasing on our bucket list, and maybe someday will be fortunate to do so. I will remember this post if the day comes! Thanks again!

It is the footage that you guys want but the use of the telephoto to zoom in on the base of the tornado gets old In a hurry. Pull back so we can see the entire storm. Just saying

Anonymous Anonymous they were aware of their being within the tornadoes outer bounds, they said as much in the video. the extremely low end ef-0 wind speeds they encountered had no chance to lift their vehicle and while tornadoes can and do intensify quickly this tornado was very slow in its buildup and weak over all. considering the minimal damage and wind speeds I'd say their chance of endangering others by becoming a projectile are basically 0%. I would NOT get this close myself. I would NOT risk a situation this far out of my hands and i do not insinuate that anyone else do so. but i do say they were more or less safe, i do say the driving was exemplary, and i do insinuate that the basehunters, with their decades of experience know the situation THEY WERE IN better than we do from a video and therefore recognize why i should not be sitting here in the comfort of my home trying to tear apart what was a real life, real time situation where you don't have the time to analyse every detail. both you and op are grasping at straws. it makes me wonder if you've ever actually chased yourselves. if you have you should know that perspective and time are everything when chasing and you should know better than to make these honestly ludicrous statements from your lack of perspective due to viewing this in video rather than bring there. did they endanger themselves? yes. did they endanger others? no. so according to your own reasoning and my description and explanation you have no quarrel.

I've been evaluating different chasers vids and you guys are putting it out on a regular bases, and actually getting close footage as well as the most important part -- the birth of these twisters. Very nice work guys. I find your stuff is the best. That one from a few weeks ago in OK was amazing, and the camera angles were superb. Just don't get too close lol.
🤔 He tells the camera guy that he's zoomed in too close, tells him to back up, then to zoom in to record the vortices at exactly where he was before he told him to back up in the first place.

Dude you guy's capture some amazing footage! Just a question why do you say "ears popping" I've heard tornado chasers say it before. Do they say it because it's an indicator of a tornado literally on top of you or near you because of the low pressure?
Because of the atmospheric change of pressure. Pressure will lower in the area of a tornado.
Why do they keep moving right into twister? Keep your distance.

On Wednesday this week we had a severe thunderstorm warning and it happened but not for an extremely long time and we didn't get tornados but it was scary as hell

why can't the town and homes in those areas be built in cement? the Caribbean has their buildings in cement bc of hurricanes and they only have to fix minor stuff. you don't need to replace a whole new house every time the storm takes it away.

I hate to come off as the dad in the room but, guys, be careful! One day we're going to get the "GoPro shot" where the view goes from the dashboard to 200' in the air and back down towards some trees before it goes black. It's be the coolest tornado video ever but the death of the cameraman will be a bigger part of the story. I live in California where we have earthquakes and the ground swallows things. If I knew where one was going to be, I'd give it some space. Sermon over...
All of the cities in North Texas are known as Tornado Alley because Tornado Alley is home of the tornados that happen in Texas
Edit out the small talk and replace the empty sound spaces with sound bites from just before or after.

Hugo is lucky...it looks like it strengthened from an EF-0 to an EF-1 after it passed thru the town.

EF-0 tornadoes can only do the damage in the video. Anything above EF-3 tornadoes are considered deadly beasts of mother nature’s wrath

Way to close to be chasing this tornado. Small tornadoes can unpredictably turn into strong big ones. A lot of storm chasers die getting to close thinking it’s an F-1 and in matter of minutes it turns into a monster. Be careful guys.

I know that it is more expensive but the homes and buildings need to be built with concrete blocks. Not wood and aluminum . At least have one small safe room that is 100% enclosed in concrete

i don't blame the guys for going crazy while chasing. yea it's annoying. but as someone who aspires to be a meteorologist and lives in Oklahoma therefore encounters these storms a lot, it's super exciting and scary at the same time. it's something you want to stare at but don't want to get caught in. the way they drive is really life or death so they have to make sure it happens when said.
About EF-2 to EF-3 maybe.
