Additionally, it makes more sense for Lighting to spend an entire season thinking a girl is a guy if her name is Jo, whereas it would’ve been a bit of a stretch for Lightning to think “Mary” was a boy all season.

It’s kinda interesting how diverse the Total Drama cast was before that was really a thing people pushed hard for in television. I appreciate that tho
Not only that, the body type diversity is also one of the reasons this show is awesome. Like, some female characters have a slim hourglass figure, while some have curves and some have muscles. The same thing goes to the male characters
i honestly like diversity more in old shows (like magic school bus) than new ones because it feels more earnest (not saying diversity in newer shows is bad, or even ingenuine, just that sometimes "token representation" is incredibly egregiious)

It makes it more... natural. Most shows nowadays, you can FEEL them trying to be "woke" and "inclusive". This show NEVER felt that way. It always felt natural af.
I think this is because older shows that had diverse casts felt it was important, but now shows use diversity as a marketing tactic
God I would’ve loved for Brick to be given more attention as a character, he’s easily my favourite. Out of all the butchered characters in All Stars, Brick would’ve been perfect for the ‘Heroes’ team

Brick was actually considered to be in All Stars but he was replaced with Gwen (idk why, they could have just replace Sam)
@@husariuspl117 even then fuck Gwen’s inclusion. I love Gwen but the way they butchered just wasn’t worth it. At least Sam had his moments. I guess they needed one more villain and Brick couldn’t fit that role which is such a shame :/
@@UncleHyena I mean Gwen was better then in World Tour and at least she ended up getting 3 new friends, All Stars tried to fix Gwen after what they did to her in WT (or rather what CN did to her)
@@husariuspl117 I think her dynamics with other characters like Cameron was fun but yuck, I couldn’t stand her subplot with Courtney. Both were just so incoherent as characters anymore like they never watched the first season

I REALLY liked Molly's design.
Gives off a tomboy like vibe.
When reloaded designs were leaked someone also revealed some personality traits and I remember she was like some weird kleptomaniac
And that trait kind of became part of Dawn's character well she's not kleptomaniac but she was framed as one

Btw Old Scott/Brick’s “necklace” is actually dog tags. They’re basically military identification. Makes me wonder if Scott was going to be a military guy like Brick ended up being.
Could be he was going to be a reservist guy or something that green was the old undershirt to the CAF army uniform. Who knows though could just be a coincidence
Another thing interesting about Brick is that, as seen in his concept art, he was actually meant to been an antagonist who was a lot more harsh and blunt toward the other campers. However, they pretty much gave that personality trait to Jo instead.
Also Zoey looks pretty antagonistic-ey
Maybe CA Scott was supposed to be like Brick but a bit meaner.
Think of it like putting Heather, Duncan, and Brick all into one character and giving that person Scott's features.
I imagine that early scot with dog tags and a dark green tank top as a smarter, more psychopathic and manipulative, more physically intimidating villain who takes the role as the main antagonist by a long shot, would have been cold but probably too skilled of a villain that would block out the image of smaller antagonists in the season.

Me. She and B were awesome characters. Unfortunelly they were eliminated way too soon, with Dawn having one the most forcefull eliminations of all. They should had last some more episodes.
Me!!!!!!! My 11 years old self had a huge crush on her and I can tell you I was immensely disappointed when she got eliminated after a mere 3 episodes.

Honestly the change for diversity really helped the show for me when I was little. Me and Mike aren’t the same ethnicity (my family is Mexican) but seeing a character with the same skin tone as me made him really special for younger me and probably helped him be one of my favorite total drama characters point blank. Also makes it feel more like an actual reality show where it feels like they actually picked a bunch of people from different backgrounds from the pool of auditions instead of pre-making them you know

I really love what they did with dakota, the reason she's so iconic is because she always looked like a paris hilton rip-off. Her beta design was cute but not really her style, i'm glad they used it to make the zoey we know and love.

Here is something you forgot to mention, during the development of Revenge of the Island, the season was supposed to come out in 2011, there is actually a teaser trailer made back in 2011, it was delayed because of the Fukushima earthquake that happen in Japan the crew made a few changes such as removing mention radioactive to toxic.

My theory: beta brick was going to be the main villain for ROTI while beta Scott was going to be a military cadet. Just my theory, but I think it’s plausible. Note how beta Scott had the dog-tag necklace that final-design brick has.
If it wasn’t for the theme song being released on UA-cam before the season was promoted in America I wouldn’t have notice it was coming

26-27 Episodes and 20 contestants With Blainley as the new host since Chris got locked up, also I haven't seen the reboot yet but I think both the reboot and revenge of the Island missed the opportunity to have blainley as the host
Speaking of Mike's propotype design, his appearance inspires Jimmy in Jimmy Two Shoes. After that, his body stays the same and his details and colors changed. That's a nice reference we see.

then, during production, they inverted the thing with the updated design, lowered the brat-side of military brat and pushed directly to the country of the final version (and all-star) of scott

I'm in the middle of binge watching TD on Netflix, liked alot of the characters in Revenge of the Island, which is why I hate how we get so little of them. At only 13 episodes, we really didn't get to see them grow and evolve if they didn't make it into the next season. Wanted to see more of B, Dawn, Dakota(zoid), and even Brick.
Zoe’s design also kept the red bracelets!
I honestly think most of the new designs just look so much more refined and ready to go. Old Molly looks kinda scene and I like that idea.

Facts: Gwen Zoey and Jo are among 3 characters who had their original names changed at some point:
Gwen as Heather
Zoey as Molly
Jo as Mary (The name of the Geniuses Girl Of TDRR)
And the only characters that didnt make it to the final cut in Total Drama Reuloaded are Dawn and B.
And also the Adversity Twins design of Jay and Mickey looked liked Cameron's original design.

I remember i walked into my older brother watching something in a summer camp and i remember a blond character with multiple personality disorder. When i watched the show, at the start i thought jeff had multiple personality disorder, since i watched it a few years later.

I wish they'd at least left the hipster glasses on Zoey. That would have at least given her one reason to be called "The Indie Chick". Then she could also be a bit more about not liking mainstream stuff, sort of like Gwen but with a more upbeat charm to her.

While i think every change was for the better, i genuinely like Beta Zoey's design better than the final one, i don't know why.
I like both, while I prefer the change I hope that Zoey's beta design will be used in one of upcoming 2 seasons, looks cool in my opinion and would be a shame if it was wasted

Agreed beta Zoey's design is actually really good. I never liked Zoey's real design it just seems too costumey and unrealistic. The final design also clashes with her non-existent personality.

It's weird how I've never seen someone talk about how there is 7 boys and 6 girls but they managed to eliminated 3 girls and 1 guy in the first 5 episodes. Leaving 2 times more guys than girls

Yeah... I knew I remember B from Total Drama Action. He was on 2 or 3 episodes as some kind of low-level technical worker of the show (moving things, cleaning etc.) I rewatched few first episodes on UA-cam and his first appearance is on episode 3 and his design is almost completely the same as in 4th season. Personally I know it could a longshot but I want to see kind of development for this character like this all appearances in past seasons wasn't accidentally (Even if they in really was) by making this part of his lore.
