I've had one of these for years and it's my favourite horn. It's very much an instrument that's someone's 10/10 and lot's of people's 6/10, which I think is fair enough because it's only that one person who'll buy it. Again, certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but a wonderful piece of kit with a lot of character for the right player.
I've never had any major issues with mine. Obviously intonation is always a bit weird with a saxophone, but I can't say mine is particularly poorly intimated.
Nice review. I purchased a similar beast in a Chateau 90 copper tenor. Trying to learn to reign it in is a whole different obstacle then trying blow the snot out of a hron. Learning to keep the fatness at a low volume really pushes ones emboucher.
Terrific review. Like your format. If anything...put a "dark background" behind the white text you put on the video. Also...I would have loved to hear you play some Clarence Clemons #-Street Band solo's to see what the 2V can do playing solo's like CC played in Jungleland, Born In the USA....etc. Maybe you could do another video on this horn just for the fun... Cost? And while a R&C has it's appeal in build quality and sound...that also makes it a horn that would be hard to get serviced by some one "qualified" to do so. A lot harder to find in any major metropolitan city. Versus having a Yamaha serviced. So perhaps...before any one living in North America considers a R&C they better make sure they've found a talented service tech that has serviced many R&C horns. Then to get one...come to the day where the horn needs to be serviced...and be unable to find a local technician. And have to ship the horn to wherever...The only drawback of owing one IMHO..
Honest review --- pros and cons! thank you so much!

I had a silver plated RC with gold bell, really liked it but I had a lot of problems getting G3, Tried all ways, great huge deep tone but no G3 hardly
Me too!
I play Alto and bought mine and love it. I am no professional and never will be but love mine
Really liked the tone you were getting with the Ted Klum!
Nice review! What about intonation on this instrument? I heard that some of Rampones have issues with that aspect

Any updates? Did you get a chance to sample the different necks?
Thank You for this review
If I understand right, bronze is highly resistant to tarnishing compared to brass

Have you tried their R1 Fully Curved Soprano saxes?

No I haven’t. But I can look into it.
Question why does Dave kozz tenor sax look bigger than the ones on the market
@@marcelcarter6751 I am not sure. It could be relation to the player or it could be. Make and model. I’ll see what I can discover.
Dave Koz tenor looks bigger because he is a small man.
