  • In this video I will show you the tips and tricks I used to replace both the Evaporator Core - amzn.to/3Jzq2WV and Heater Core - amzn.to/3QbvYJJ. This replacement is applicable to 1997 - 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models. In my opinion this repair wasn't near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Removal of the entire HVAC Box is required.
Parts and Tools used in the video -
    Evaporator Core: amzn.to/3Jzq2WV
    Heater Core: amzn.to/3QbvYJJ
    A/C O-Ring Kit: amzn.to/3Upe3le
    A/C Line Disconnect Tool: amzn.to/3U9Qifz
    A/C Accumulator: amzn.to/3W8bC7Z
    Hose Clamping Tool: amzn.to/3Qe287k
    Spring Hose Clamp Tool: amzn.to/4b164jG
    Hose Removal Tools: amzn.to/4aJ1SVZ
    Torx Bit T27: amzn.to/3UbunV8

    Rubberized Undercoating Spray: amzn.to/49QQlme
Warning: On vehicles equipped with air bags, disable the air bag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the air bag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the air bag system. failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.

Great video. I’ve not done this before but did it with confidence after watching this. I didn’t pull my steering column and saved a bunch of time. Thanks for doing this.

Extremely useful video, just followed it and all went well. For a while there thought that box wasn't going back together then all of a sudden the interior parts were aligned.

Thanks for doing this video. Came in handy for my LJ repairs. So far so good. The strap for the dash was effective for the core removal and install. Thanks again.

Hey Thanks! It's positive feedback like yours that lets me know if I'm putting to much detail in the videos or not enough. Its nice to know it has been useful. I too was a bit intimidated before doing this job but found it really wasn't as bad as I thought. You can Do It!

I seen a video on The Wizard that some guy had him cut a hole in his firewall because he's had this job done a couple times and he doesn't want to pay for it again is that possible

Dumb question: the heater core of the YJ Wrangler is not interchangeable with the Wrangler TJ one?

    • @FreeAutoMechanic
      @FreeAutoMechanic  11 днів тому

They are not listed as interchangeable. The part numbers are different.
