It was already bad in the 90's. but right now, really nobody is even trying to speak that other language. It's not educated in school. I am pretty sure the average Dutch person speaks better French than the Average Flemish. And maybe even the other way around. Both sides have their own political party's for their nation wide government. That sometimes isn't even on the list on the other side and definitely get's no vote there. It's sad also. The Flemish are nice people mostly.
