👋Hey there it's Wes. If you have a project or specific woodworking question you would like answered, I can send you a personalized video. Please go to www.woodworkingwithwes.com. I would love to help out...thanks.
I like the way that you use basic materials and construction methods to make beautiful finished products. As an experienced hobbyist woodworker, I have a tendency to make more complicated furniture style joinery. The cabinet maker/trim carpentry style construction method you use is much more practical and provides a finished product that would any customer would be happy with. Thank you for the great videos; I always learn something.
Layers of basic shapes and appropriate mouldings is a quick and efficient way to make these types of projects. I enjoy your practical approach and advice. Thanks
Your videos transport me to a world of solutions, where corners are perfect, all is measured twice and cut once, and everything is level. A balm for any soul surrounded by chaos!
Amazing as always, I wish I could spend some time shadowing all your talent and skills. Your lifetime of knowledge is inspiring. I was thinking of doing podiums. It would be awesome to see you do one.
I used to make mantles back in the eighties when dark wood and carved mouldings were popular here, you’re right there’s good money to made😊 here. Another fascinating video and a great build. Have a great week Wes! 👌👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you. I myself had woodwork side job years ago that provided the extras for our family. Now I’m thinking about the same for part time semiretired work.
Muy buen trabajo y maravillosa historia. Los negocios están siempre ahí, a la vuelta de la esquina. Hay que saber encontrarlos, nada más. Gracias por compartir. Un abrazo Wes! Germán, Lomas de Solymar, Uruguay
Hello Wes, great video and it turned out really nice. Will look at making some here as a way to make a plain wall look elegant, no need for a fire as such. Greetings from Zimbabwe, Africa.
Hey Wes. It looks beautiful but I have a question. Is there a reason you’re using different materials throughout the mantel? If the end goal is painting it, wouldn’t it be cheaper to just use melamine on the whole mantle?
Hi...the melamine only works as a base material for the hardwood overlay that was required. You couldn't build it totally out of melamine. Thank you for watching, Wes
