This entire movie should have been a static shot of Ichabod the Turtle going about his business, it would've been a thousand times less creepy and more engaging.
The house that the witch was sitting in front of when the film switches to color is actually a famous house that's in Beverly Hills. It's actually referred to as "The Witch House" and it's owned by a Hollywood director. I believe it was built by an artist. Notice how they weren't filming on the property, but were filming on the sidewalk? I have a feeling that they just showed up and filmed quickly on the sidewalk, using that house as a backdrop and left. The house itself is beautiful. There's a few articles about it and the inside is amazing and it has that fantasy theme all on the inside and in the yard as well.
vest816 What's really funny is that you know that the damn director took more footage of the house and desperately tried to associate the witch character to the house but probably couldn't get permission to actually use the property, hence the witch sitting awkwardly in a chair in the street instead of in her yard. It's also probably the reason that the house they use for when she's an old lady is an entirely different house. I recognized the Beverly Hills Witch House right away when I saw it. It's very blatant that they used it as the background for that one scene (because witch!). Like I said. You just know that there was more footage of that house shot that got cut for whatever reason.
Awww. Lloyd is just the cutest fluffy creature ever. He's lovely even in the cover art. By the way, I almost choked when you put the Fun in Balloon Land. for a second I though it was the same company.
The Sanitarium To quote Glenda the good witch, "Only bad witches are ugly", which is inacurate because Magrate Hamillton was fine as fuuuuuck in that green makeup.
As much as I was surprised that the tree could talk, I could actually hear It say "ouch" when the dad was trying to cut it down. I thought it was just a joke, I didn't think it could actually talk! lol Also, 60s Hagrid was creepy.
HiperPivociarz, Mantis42b, Wait, was this really a thing, or am I just looking like an idiot on the Internet? Are we talking spiritual successor stuff here?
03bgood This was the same year as Disney's "Mary Poppins" was released as well as the TV special "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" came out and it was from Rankin/Bass.
everett von scott Unless you're so easily amused that you can be entertained by the jingling of car keys, the usual comedic pace of a MST3K episode is one laugh every 20 minutes and those 20 minutes are filled with watching an awful boring movie. Brad can make more funny jokes a minute than there are in a whole MST3K episode when he's on a roll. It's sad that Brad and many others deluded themselves into thinking that MST3K is some sort of genius masterpiece, especially since that means that we won't see actually funny and well done reviews of the movies MST3K has featured because reviewers don't touch them out of misguided reverence. The only thing MST3K deserves credit for is inspiring a generation of talented people like Brad to review movies in a way that's actually fun to watch.
I still think you should just do a Rifftrax/MST3K Theme Month where you look at some movies they've done. I always love when you cover one of theirs just for the different perspectives alone.
MeganKoumori I wouldn go so far as to call it fan art. You're right about the origins, but this is a professionally made movie poster for a movie that's hard to believe is professionally made
“Quit pinching my arm!” “I’m not going to hurt you, boy.” Were the script writers under the impression that pinching doesn’t hurt, and kids love being pinched? Was pinching universally recognized as not painful in the 60s? Was this script assembled line by line in different rooms by different writers, like the top-secret German joke translators in Monty Python’s “Funniest Joke in the World” sketch!?
It really does seem like a Halloween movie! It's gonna get really hilarious when Michael Meyers shows up and kills everyone for the witch because she's the leader of the Thorn cult!
Here's hoping you do Santa and The Ice Cream Bunny! Or any other MST3K/Rifftrax Christmas stories! (My personal favorite is Santa Claus vs. The Devil. I watch it every year)
+paul nash ----If that makes you feel unusual, just wait until you check out the DVD... Cinema Snob: Nudies, Rudies, & Crudies! SPOILERS: Brad goes full frontal, and we see everything!
the sound effects in the background of the fire engine/pie man chase scene and lawnmower scene too is actually from The Wind in the Willows segment from The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I have a good ear for these kind of things.
Me too. I have noticed sounds from Doom in The Santa Clause (first rooftop landing) and whichever The Land Before Time movie has the T-rexes and Chomper or whatever.
lol, Idk, maybe. The Japanese seem to be quite eccentric. It's been a long time since I seen Godzilla's Revenge, that did sound like him right? Apparently a few people got the joke, I'm happy with that. :)
A Snob review of Godzilla's Revenge AKA All-Monster Attack would be quite fun - love that movie and movies with obnoxious kids usually lead to great CS stuff (Fun in Balloonland anyone ?). :D
My mom was 10 and my dad 12 in '64. It's weird to look at this kid and to think my dad was that age ever. Unfortunately, my kids don't think I was ever that age either. Circle of life.
Is that how you had to start a lawnmower back then? Christ! That looks absolutely exhausting. Thank you to whatever genius realised it would work better if the cord remained attached to the motor.
The Rifftrax for this movie is superb, especially since it throws in some vintage commercials and a cartoon that has Santa Claus living in a shanty and making racist dolls.
Dude, this movie is creepy. Weird witches, talking trees, kidnapping Santa and almost getting kidnapped by a creepy giant! No child should be subjected to this. XD
Wow, I'm impressed, you got a Trump, Jared Fogle and Freddy Kruger reference in a shitastic Christmas film not starring Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
23:03 "YOU"RE MY LITTLE BOY, NOW!"
Goddamn, Hagrid was hardcore in the prequels!
Thank goodness his hobbies turned to collecting creatures rather than children. Hogwarts would've been a lot different.
To quote Cinema Snob, "I'm sorry. I'm too old for you."
"You're my bitch, Harry!"
6:38 Lloyd: "Fuck you, this is my air vent."
"Oh, I'm full grown all right."
And then they banged... HARD.
Lloyd has an IMDB page...
My life is now complete.
Magical Christmas trees? Just remember: you always win, when you are good!
Turns out Mrs Hopewell was a creepy camp genie the whole time!
In the grim darkness of the far future......there is only, YOU ALWAYS WIN WHEN YOU ARE GOOD!!!!!!
This entire movie should have been a static shot of Ichabod the Turtle going about his business, it would've been a thousand times less creepy and more engaging.

I just looked it up after reading this, out of curiosity. I love it. I know what home I'm imitating if I ever win the lottery.
Huh. Weird. Don't think I've ever left the UA-cam comments section feeling more intellectually enriched. Seriously interesting little anecdote there, thanks.
vest816 What's really funny is that you know that the damn director took more footage of the house and desperately tried to associate the witch character to the house but probably couldn't get permission to actually use the property, hence the witch sitting awkwardly in a chair in the street instead of in her yard. I knew that house looked familiar as I saw it in a vlog video with the Carpetbagger and Adam the Woo.
Lol, I couldn't place where I've seen that house. I used to pass that house on occasion back when I lived in LA County ages ago...
Lloyd's all like, "Who needs a onesie? Just sleep right on the heating vent!"
I think the words "All Live!" either refer to the film's being live action or to the film's actors' surviving the experience.
Surviving the filming of a 1950s movie was quite a feat and DEFINITELY worth bragging about.......
Not gonna lie, my heart fucking melted when I saw Lloyd.
"mrowr!"
You made your cat an IMDB page? Marry me
this is one of, if not the best comment on a video I've ever seen.
For those curious, you can search for "Lloyd (VII)" on IMDb. He's also known as "Realistic Lloyd." :)
BACK OFF!!!!! he's MINE!!!!!.......😡
The turtle was the best part of the whole movie.
I appreciated that balloon land reference
“Cut that shit out, I’ll never have fun in Balloonland”
He's so gay!
This was actually released on VHS by GoodTimes Entertainment in 1992. It's completely useless now.
Well, it's a good thing Brad spared Phelous from having to review this monstrosity.
@@ExplorerDS6789 he........still will anyway........let's face it........
@@megatron6713 ...Breakfast is ruined?
You got an autograph from Eric Freeman? Awesome! :D
Go to my channel on UA-cam. Look at Eric's poster video. Damon
it's garbage day
Whenever one of those kids says something, my mind always adds a "Duuuuurrrrrrr" at the end.
"Please like us Fatty," one of my favorite lines from the Rifftrax version of this movie
"I'm too old for you..." Can I have a tee shirt with that and the Cinema Snob's angry/disgusted face. That... is priceless.
I wanna pet Lloyd.
He is always distractingly adorable
That adorable Lloyd reaction shot sums up my reaction to this movie.
Awww, it's not that Christmas tree movie. The one with the awesomely evil Mrs. Mevilda.
Brian Moore Dont forget about Pappy...the young child.
And what about Licorice? Or Mrs. Hopewell? Or the Mayor that only paid money bags?
Awww. Lloyd is just the cutest fluffy creature ever. He's lovely even in the cover art.
By the way, I almost choked when you put the Fun in Balloon Land. for a second I though it was the same company.
PUT THE BALLOON LAND BACK IN THE BALLOON LAND.
WE CAN'T ALLOW IT TO ESCAPE CONTAINMENT.
vlad stronsy The SCP Foundation is responding now.
"I never thought I'd SEE A RESSONENCE CASSCADE!!!!!" - Half Life, upon the black mesa fun in balloon land containment failure......
Lloyd is adorable!
*Tuna time sound*
Lloyd: Noooooo!
The question isn't wether she's a witch: it's wether she's a good witch, or a bad witch.
4:13 That Ren & Stimpy/Spongbob music.
They use that because it’s in public domain
Any mention of Lloyd makes any video of his even better than the excellence they normally aspire to. Yay, Lloyd!
The audio fuckup followed by the tree appearing in the house completely silently is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.
This movie needs more
"Garbage day!!!"
Could make better use with either Old Man or Fat Grandma.
No, what this movie needs is a full 3 hour scene of the dad trying to start the lawnmower.
Fucking RIGHT. More Caldwell
This is the Manos: the Hands of Fate of Christmas movies and no torgo!
This movie seemed to have little to do with Christmas as Thumbelina had little to do with Santa Claus or ice cream bunnies.
I'm surprised the guy who did "A Talking Cat!" hasn't done a remake of this
6:36 "Cause Of Death: Cuteness Overdose"
Royal Silva 6:38-6:40 such a cute no
JudasPriest9878 That was like saying "okay Google" setting off phones for cat owners
No wait! I'm allergic to adorableness!
His meow makes me squeal!!!! So cute!!
Remember kids! If you're ugly, you are a witch!!
The Sanitarium And according to a movie poster, witches are evil.
+Eren Jaegar basically, yeah!
If that's the case I'm glad I haven't melted yet.
On the bright side, if you did turn out to be a witch it'd require only minimal changes to your username.
The Sanitarium To quote Glenda the good witch, "Only bad witches are ugly", which is inacurate because Magrate Hamillton was fine as fuuuuuck in that green makeup.
Holy shit you actually found him!? Holy fucking shit, tell him to make more movies!
As much as I was surprised that the tree could talk, I could actually hear It say "ouch" when the dad was trying to cut it down. I thought it was just a joke, I didn't think it could actually talk! lol
Also, 60s Hagrid was creepy.
Goddamn it, The Lawnmower Man didn't have this much lawn mowing!
6:36 I would pay top dollar to hear Lloyd speak again.
"Why is the magic christmas tree also a giant who collects child slaves??!!"
LOLZ. Oh CInema Snob...
Dad determines family by those who survive his murder attempts.
Rob Shnieder is now A Talking Tree!?! Derpity Derpity Derp De Derp Derpity.
Rated PG-13.

Da derp dee derp da teetley derpee derpee dumb
Lloyd has such pretty eyes.
I love you, Cinema Snob. There, I said it. Just seeing a new video of yours waiting to be watched, brings me immense happiness.
Lol, when you said "fuck your damn mower", I actually said "Too Right" out loud to myself. 😆
I love Lloyd :3. He needs to be in more videos
Is this the Stranger Things prequel "they" didn't want us to see?
Isn't Stranger things already a sequel?
yea but no one remembers the original Strange Things because it wasn't on Netflix
HiperPivociarz, Mantis42b, Wait, was this really a thing, or am I just looking like an idiot on the Internet? Are we talking spiritual successor stuff here?
Wait, I think I might be wrong. I though that it's like with Full house and Fuller house xD If it's not a sequel then why not jusr Strange things!?
Although it might be a gritty reboot of Eerie, Indiana xD
This was made in 1964 but it look more like it was made in 1954.
03bgood This was the same year as Disney's "Mary Poppins" was released as well as the TV special "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" came out and it was from Rankin/Bass.
Yeah, it also was the same year my mother was born and when The Beatles came on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Yes, but those two projects had effort, and were made by people who really cared about the product.
. Such strange visuals of this movie makes unbelievable that it came out the same year as those 2 films you mentioned.
How great would a Cinema Snob MST3K crossover be?
Spyro Fan Pretty great. add a couple more internet critics in there, and it could be fucking awesome.
Hell, even a visit on the Hexfield Viewscreen would be awesome.
Why would you want that? MST3K is slow-paced and unfunny compared to Snob episodes. Besides crossovers suck balls 99% of the time.
+ser6Ijvolk "MST3K is slow-paced and unfunny" I've never seen a more wrong opinion.

Mark is actually a horror from goosebumps, remember they hate pinching.
It really does seem like a Halloween movie! It's gonna get really hilarious when Michael Meyers shows up and kills everyone for the witch because she's the leader of the Thorn cult!
That lawnmower sounds possessed... maybe it's the same one from that Gumby cartoon that came alive and chased the animated people around the park.
That's the first time I heard Lloyd meow.
Here's hoping you do Santa and The Ice Cream Bunny! Or any other MST3K/Rifftrax Christmas stories! (My personal favorite is Santa Claus vs. The Devil. I watch it every year)
"Dad is not used to having such a long, hard piece of wood in the house." Daynggg, oh snap.

"Garbage Day!(Boom-maniacal laugh gun twirl combo)" sweeps the Oscars
Giant: “you know me boy. You know *me* *well* 😏”

Shit, does that mean this movie was just the dream of a young Japanese school boy too?
lol, Idk, maybe. The Japanese seem to be quite eccentric. It's been a long time since I seen Godzilla's Revenge, that did sound like him right? Apparently a few people got the joke, I'm happy with that. :)

Oh my gracious... the voice of that tree is similiar to the Bull in Ms Velma's Christmas in America...
Man, the Twilight Zone Christmas specials got WEIRD.
oh shit Magical Halloween in December!
Where did he get that Grinch onzie? I one it. I need it.
Freya Mikaelson I think Walmart sells it
The Rifftrax for this movie is superb, especially since it throws in some vintage commercials and a cartoon that has Santa Claus living in a shanty and making racist dolls.
OMG the Ichabod IMDB page freakin killed me XD
I LOVE LLOYD!!
Happy December Brad!!
Is Non-Movie a term? Cause that's what this movie felt like.
It feels like the Christmas episode of a terrible old sitcom.
Those are non-games, not non-movies...
Nice!!! Thanks for making my shitty Monday better.
Lloyd is so fucking sweet!
ice cream bunny. oh god i understood that reference
You know, that movie is actually in the public domain.
Pete Hill The movie is in the Internet Archive, but I wish someone hasn't posted the full movie on UA-cam yet.
I hope it shows up on MST3K at some point I think that film would break any captive test subjects mind
I wish I didnt, the the sweat stains >< noooo run me over like they nearly did the dog , end my suffering!!!!
I saw it when the Rifftrax crew covered it. There are no words. Garbled noises maybe.
All wrapped up in holiday colour after the first 20 minutes of course
Dude, this movie is creepy. Weird witches, talking trees, kidnapping Santa and almost getting kidnapped by a creepy giant! No child should be subjected to this. XD
Oh, your cat is so sweet!
Snob, you gotta review SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS next.
Wow, I'm impressed, you got a Trump, Jared Fogle and Freddy Kruger reference in a shitastic Christmas film not starring Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
This movie was a staple of my childhood and a Christmas Tradition of mine and my brother ^_^;
Kinda weird seeing it again...
pretty sure Dad is actually Coleman Francis
Did Lloyd say "No"?
I think they missed a credit for Ichabod, pretty sure he is the voice of the lawn mower trying to start also.
It was actually filmed in Laverne California.
16:43 That was a bad time to take a drink, I almost bloody choked.
So.....I guess Krampus has a giant, leather-clad barbarian cousin who enslaves greedy children? That's.....actually kind of awesome.
the picture makes me want a Lloyd ornament
This movie's setting looks more like the '50s than the '60s.
"If Christmas is mentioned in Winter's Tale." HA! I see what you did there.
Who doesn't like meatloaf? A meatloaf sandwich sounds delish!
Yeah but cold/Room Temperature?
Lloyd has an imdb page...
