My little brother is possibly the biggest Megadeth fan of all time he knows the exact year of every tour, album, & birth of the members. This is his favorite song of all time. He knows every word, chord & tone of this song. His first concert was Megadeth. Just at the age of 6, they instantly became his favorite band because of how heavy they are. Personally, I am a Slayer fan, so I listen to more Slayer than anyone, but my little brother isn't a very big fan of Slayer, so I play as much Slayer as I possibly can, but he gets pissed off every time.
I love this song. Its enduring message twenty-two years after its release, about the masses (me, you, and everyone else you know) being led to their own destruction by political leaders still rings true. Mustaine did an excellent job of making a point on an problem that continues to be the order of the day.

@kerbalairsoft that is VERY true. And it's because he has ACTUAL talent and won't give into these corporate fat cats who want to earn all the money. I agree, I've heard WAY better metal/rock bands that many people never heard of then any of these "artists" nowadays. Evergreen Terrace. All I'm gonna say. Or go old school, Tool. Me personally, that band will always be considered one of the greatest. When Maynard did that duo with Chino from Deftones "Passenger" omg that song still gives me goosebumps lol. Hell, I still sing "Pet" to my sons. You just don't get that kind of feeling listening to modern music nowadays.

Both of you have the same thing in common and it's that the joke was 50 feet above your head. The joke is that the "You tried to take his pulse" line is often misheard as "You tried to take his balls" due to David's pronunciation of the word "pulse" which he pronounces the p like a b so it sounds like "bulse" the u is pronounced as an a so its "balse" so what most people are hearing is "balse" but the word balse isn't a real word. You're brain converts it too balls. Most people's brains don't work after reading the lyrics. I read them and I still hear the word "balls" and I'm pretty sure many others do. So respectfully shut up and enjoy the joke
