dang, how is this plot so perfect? it literally has all of the elements to a rom-com
the nice rival who she used to hate, who was nice but teased her, childhood friend, and her saying "even if I liked him I NEVER would have told him" is just further fueling the fire. (Plus, her not remembering his name is definitely another anime trope)

Aggressive refuse makes it more believable, with those story and their background. She also say it was pain for her to lose him, which nailed the coffin even more.
