Ned held his ground two swords to one against Sir Arthur Dayne. He also had Jamie on the defensive and had pushed him back into a corner when the Lannister soldier wisely disabled him. Ned should be in the top 10.
I eagerly want to see Robert in his prime his passion for love led him fight the mighty Targaryens and beat them, he did it not for the throne but for his love towards lynna
Agreed. Quick and quiet as soft breeze and he would appear out of nowhere. Not just a beautiful warrior, but incredibly smart about it. He knew exactly what his opponent’s weaknesses were! +++ I loved how funny he was. My favorite scene was when he was in the brothel about to take the undies off the prostitute with his mouth and Poderick appears relaying Tyrion’s demand for him to come to him. It got me. It was funny. It was human. That was what I loved about GOT. It was a Fantasy Genre, no doubt. But Mr. Martin was able to infuse so much relatable humanity into the subtext, that no matter how many hundreds of years ago this was set, or how much “Magic” portrayed, we in the modern day can relate.
Total respect to the work done. Well done. I’d have to say though, that Drogo over Jaime and Barristan is bold. Ofc he totally could win with size ferocity and skill, but Jaime and Barristan and the Cleganes have superior armor and weaponry along being maybe more skilled at killing different types of enemies. GRRM himself said he’d pick Jaime to be his champion. The top fighters as written is arguably in order: 1. Arthur Dayne with Dawn 2. Jaime or Barristan healthy and youngish 4. The Hound or Prime Robert 5. Drogo 6. Garlan Tyrell 7. Gregor Clegane 8. Oberyn Martell 9. Bronn, Loras, Rhaegar and Strong Belwas round out the top 10.
Terrific video. Put together very well. I of course disagree with some choices, but I enjoy seeing other fan’s opinions. I agree with leaving the mountain off of this list.
Those were not soldiers fighting with Ned Stark, they were his bannermen. The one who knifed Sir Dayne is the Lord of the Neck. He's the only one to survive the battle with Ned, and also the only other one to know the truth about Jon Snow.
Never had Stannis down as Legendary fighter A battle commander yes but Stannis was bo warrior.Barristan deserved so much better than the way he diee in the show. 1.Arthur Dayne 2.Barristan Bold 3.Ser Ryam Redwyne 4.Bobby B (Prime 5.Kingslayer
Stannis- Headstrong and competent. Unless led around by a Red Witch Oberyn- Too self confident in his abilities. Uses stupidity rather than intelligence. (I.e. Mountain 😉) Robert- Got fat, soft, lost muscle 💪🏻….sad. Jaime- Lost his hand. Not a lefty 🙃 Khal- Sepsis Barriston- Ganged up on by Sons of the Harpy. See Arthur Dayne- Stabbed in back by Howland Reed. His sword returned to his house by Ned Stark(very honorable).
Regardless of lifespan in the series, Kahl Drogo was the best one on one. The guy never lost a fight, was too quick, and had zero fear. The writers had to kill him off with an infection. Dane would be too slow in his heavy armor and long swords.
This scene basically happened, armored barriston kills a massive lightning fast Fighting pit champion armed with arahks who bodyguards the king of Meereen, Westerosi knights are the dueling master race in ASOIAF, Dayne was capable of slaying 4 Westerosi knights with his offhand while taking a piss with his sword hand according to Jaime.
Stannis should be part of legendary commanders not fighters. If only the warriors shown in TV series, Jon snow or Tormund can be considered as they are very famous warriors everywhere they went. If only the timeline from Robert to current considered, Rhaegar Targeryan is definitely a great fighter, won Arthur Dayne with spear, I believe.
It's always made me wonder they say the unsullied are said to be one of the best army's to have....but they have none of the greatest warriors/fighters
The unsullied are infantry, they would rarely fight in single combat. Add to that the fact they had no balls, it makes sense they wouldn't be on the list.
19:00 I have to wonder, did Jaime know that Ned had held out well vs Ser Arthur Dayne at the Tower of Joy? Ser Arthur was god-like with his swords, omg. Otherwise, I think maybe he'd not have been so cocky?
Jon should be higher he is so far a great swordsmen and in the books beats most of the famous wildling raiders and stands a good chance against mance raider who is also very good
If we remove armor and make it a fair fight, my money is on Drogo. Also wasn't Daario Naharis good? He did kill Meereen's champion like a joke. By the way none of them stand a chance against the Faceless Man. If he wanted them dead, they'd have died a thousand different ways. The same isn't true in reverse.
I believe George RR Martin is on record as saying that Arthur Dayne and Barristan Selmy were roughly equal but that Arthur Daynes' sword, Dawn, gave him the advantage
@@Billygrundmeyer In an interview GRRM also stated that 6 out of 10 times BS will beat AD without his great sword... But you're right about him using his great sword giving him an advantage...

Literally I just want to see how good he was at fighting and the same with other characters
It was all about his ego
Thank you for not showering oberyn`s death. Im not easily traumatized but that traumatized me.
not even an honorable mention for my man Bronn
Bruh he's leagues better than basically everyone on the honorable mentions list.. and I'd even put him above Stannis tbh
Yeah!!

He did win a trial by combat against a knight of the Vale
@@DRED-fullyeah he’d kill stains no problem 1v1
Bronn, daario naharis, grey worm , Rhegar Targeryan, Arya stark, Hound, Brienne 😭😭😭😭
What a video. Brilliant work.

Lord of the Neck because that's where he stabbed Arthur Dayne.
'Knifed'. Stabbed is the word
@@engasal Knifed is ok, because it kinda clarifies how the stabbing was done
Bronn would thrash the *ENTIRE* honorable mentions list lol
Ned himself was one of the top fighters.
Ned was begging for his head to be lopped off, he was determined to dig his own grave like no other
Brienne, Grey Worm, Selmy, Jon Snow, Oberyn, & Stannis are the best Warriors in the Show

The Mountain beat Oberyn. The Hound beat the Mountain. Brienne beat the Hound. Who is the greatest?
Arya
Ser Jorah mormant, Daario Naharis, Jqeon Hgar
Should also be mentioned as per my view :)
Especially Daario
Stannis Baratheon a fair and just man
And the most feared man in westeros
when renly advice ned about recruit 100 man and take the throne , if ned did that maybe he might be still alive .
Wow I just realized the actor playing Dayne played Woods Rogers in black Sails
Here’s idea: top GOT moments seasons 1-4 that are NOT in the books
please make it…before I beat u to it ;)
Haha. That’s a good idea. I’ll let you do it first ‘cause I’m working on all episodes ranking. Not enough free time nowadays. :(
Regardless of lifespan in the series, Kahl Drogo was the best one on one. The guy never lost a fight, was too quick, and had zero fear. The writers had to kill him off with an infection. Dane would be too slow in his heavy armor and long swords.
Dane, as in Ser Arthur Dayne? You should read the books. Drogo would've been Dinner, mate. Not an easy dinner, but a tasty one.
Ser jorah mormont kill one of his best guy...and mormont was not even the top 10..
Drogo is easy kill for Sword of the Morning
Completely agree with 6-1, but the Cleganes would demolish Stannis.
Also Greyworm btw
'The Sword of the Morning' sounds like a double entendre.
Both The Hound and Brienne is better than Stannis
And Jaime better than Khal Drogo
Stannis should be part of legendary commanders not fighters. If only the warriors shown in TV series, Jon snow or Tormund can be considered as they are very famous warriors everywhere they went. That’s what I was thinking. Stannis from those clips is clearly fearless, but could he beat Tormund or Jon Snow? Perhaps in his prime.

@@adriansmith3427 I wonder why that is though....it's amazing me that none of them over time would want to be
I think their thing is well rounded efficiency which from a pragmatic view to me makes them the most dangerous
No Brianne of Tarth?? Or The Hound?

Hate how Stannis killed his own daughter and in such a cruel way 😢
Never happened in the books
Jaime lannister top 3
Qhorin Halfhand had 200 IQ not gonna lie
Halfhand let Snow beat him. So how is that fight included?
Jon should be higher he is so far a great swordsmen and in the books beats most of the famous wildling raiders and stands a good chance against mance raider who is also very good
True Jon is underrated , he is at least like 13/14 best fighter
How Hilariously cruel 😅
Aye,👁 one of the Greyjoys nearly took my eye,👁
Then he takes his eye 👁

Gonna disagree with you on the Mountain
You meant Stannis? Mountain wasn’t on the list. Just Oberyn’s opponent.
@@hushhodor you list him at the end, 14th. i'm saying i think he was a better fighter than a few of the dudes in front of him.
Oh, that’s right. Totally forgot I added the top 7 fighters who are still alive in Season 7 and placed them right below this list.
Arthur was not the best, ned killed him, the best dont die.
Why does the actor fighting the mountain sound almost similar to the swordsman in the princess bride. Same feel different line's and story.
