For anyone confused the viera in the red shirt is supposed to be catdanny who clips asmon streams to post to youtube. He makes ad revenue off of those so whenever hes being obnoxious or snoring when asmon isnt doing the big ticket content like msq or raids hes not making revenue off the stream clips.
I still think Asmon genuinely would wanna come back, he said as much watching this video, I just think it's pressure and high expectations keeping him, same with being on his main channel. He's mentioned to have sudden panic attacks and feeling very stressed out lately, a lot happened since he stopped FF14 and being on his main channel from mom passing away and then managing a company that's had its fair share of serious stuff going down.
I hope for his own health he can manage to balance his life around eventually. As a viewer I just enjoyed the content immensely and always hoped for him to reach later savage/extreme bosses where the game started to really kick off, as I'd bet he'd have quite fun with them.
The Arthars Cameo is simply the best.

The funny thing is Xenosys is a reoccuring character in Sufferhymns videos. A lot of the little things in this are connected to the previous videos they made.

Yeah, it was genuinely a lot of fun. Asmon may be an asshole in some aspects but he's always genuine and he's low-key a smart man, so his insights were always worth considering. I drew a lot of enjoyment from his streams, I didn't miss a single one.
There's no force greater than the MSQ/Content Vampires of FFXIV. Driving people away with their obsessive back seating since Heavensward lmao

Can't 100% blame them though. There were WoW Andy's pretending to be XIV players. The sad part was that it was a combination of both.
Yep. Also the whole gating that comes with it. I finally stopped listening to this bs and skipped the entire msq. Took me 3x to deinstall the game and 4th time after like 5?years gave EW a try and was just fkit. Boosted through the story and my characters.
Done the last 2 raidtiers and cleared TOP several times now, got so much value/enjoyment out of the game. The game is way more than the MSQ. And I don't see anybody who dislikes visual novels get through this slow asf mess of hundreds of hours of dialog.
If ppl would be more open to various opinions, and just accept that MSQ isn't all there is to the game it would've have maybe an actual endgame raiding scene with way more people enjoying all aspects of the game aswell. But hypocritical is all the FF community really is.
@@Bankai90 don't have the balls to skip it but i am on ffxiv since hw and only level 62 because of the reasons you mentioned. it's the 5th time now i resub and yeah only around 60 with a few classes and that's it.
@@GARCIIIAmonster ye it's ofc not all nice and dandy. You get thrown into a 90's job with 30buttons and no idea about anything. Took quite some commitment to not throw the towel there.
But for me highend raiding is the main content, and then I stick around for other stuff just for fun, (like checking out all raids/dungeons/trials/ultimates) or golden saucer or some mountfarms/pvp whatever. Or just flying around places.
The story might be very good, but the presentation of it is just too slow for me, I cannot bear with it no matter how much I try.
And if I click anything away what's the point lel. I rather waste 2-3days being frustrated with yt learning the rotation than wasting 4months getting through the hours of clicks running from A to B lol
Not to mention probably 80% of the FF playerbase never even bothered to learn their rotation anyway. God half of the mentors don't even know theirs lel
(You can also just make an alt and do it there if you want to keep your main in exact place. But even with boost now you'd have like 25h of EW story to play to get uptodate)

eta: for anyone curious the posing was all Anamnesis (3rd party tool), and there were at least 3 mods (body mods - prob The Body and BIBO+, and then the Bunny Tights/outfit to fit the body mod). If there were other mods aside from those idk bc I don't play a Viera & nothing else really stood out.

He quit Classic wow for the exact "reason" he says he stopped playing ff and the classic chatters were WAAAAAAY worse, doesn't stop him from playing classic even after shitting on the game. He literally had multiple ban requests videos and most of them were classic players. I think its obvious the real reason he stopped playing was the hype died down because he drove away all his ff viewers and then he tried to gaslight his viewers into convincing them they were the reason why he won't stream it.
There's also the fact that he's chronically addicted to the past and can't get enough of trying to relive it - he'll never ever quit playing wow because that is where his obsessions are.

Actually solid video, though I don't think we're ever going to see asmon come back cause his track record of coming back to finish anything is VERY low, he either no lifes it to completion first go around or he never finishes it. The only actual hope is the graphic update but even then I think thats just copium.
I feel like the main thing stopping him from wanting to come back is precisely the insane backseating content vampires, and I feel like those guys aren't ever going away.

Enjoyed Asmon's 14 streams, too. Shame he won't ever come back, but 14 isn't everyone's cup of tea. People blame the community for his exodus, but I think he was looking for a reason to quit.
I'll say that tackling POTD solo is an inhumane thing to do, he should never have been pointed towards that because it is beyond soul crushing
I won't say it's the main factor, but it certainly contributed despite the entertainment it provided
@@Ippiki9 it's a combination of things, he quit when he was depressed about his mom, then something changed in his mind. The main reason people started bothering him was because he announced he was going in balls deep into xiv to clear all content and get to the point of doing the ultimates, but he instead spent 4 hours talking about drama, reusing content from his stream the day before, then more uninteresting drama (which is what twitch chat loves the most) and then he'd play 2 hours of xiv, with an hour or more of him just fucking around in the gold saucer and lastly just a bit of msq before attempting some dungeons or going back to the gold saucer.
All of this made people impatient and they started calling him out on how he said he'd play xiv and catch up, but he spent 90% of his stream doing something else, so people felt baited and yeah, toxicity ensued, plus Asmon not being a big fan of game lore and story/plot made him just get tired of it. He was stuck with it tho, because he knew he'd get plenty of drama and shit coming his way if he paid for the skip and played the game how he wanted/liked and he really dislikes getting drama for his actions, he loves other's people's drama where he isn't involved or people trying to shit talk him for stuff he knows he is in the right.
Gotta remember asmongold is a character he plays, so all of the stuff he does is overexaggerating or overreacting and playing this huge asshole type, so it's understandable he won't play the game ever again because it doubles drain him to pretend to like the game and pretend to be another person.
@Rekko Anyone who watched Asmon knew what to expect when he says he will play a game. The only people who were salty were people who just want to see his reaction and won't watch him again after - so the majority of Twitch FfXIV viewers.

Honestly though it wasn't the FF14 community writ large. I say this as an Asmongold viewer for years who has played WoW since Vanilla and FF14 since 2.0. Asmongold's Megathread on the FFXIV reddit of him first playing? 14.5k upvotes with 6.5k comments. The megathread for his return? 0 upvotes with 86 comments. It wasn't the community. Community had already moved on from Asmongold when he picked it back up. You had a small group of people and some false flaggers who gave Asmongold a hard time. Shame to see him leave because of that but I wish he had a more factual appraisal it.
As much as we hate it, Asmon for a long time now, is a stats junkie in min maxing his audience numbers. When they start to fall off, he notices and switches to something else.

It prolly was because Zepla did so many talking streams that they basically started to bore people.
He liked reacting to other people's videos all the time and Zepla was one of them. One of the running joke IIRC is that he watched Zepla's videos in higher speed cause she seemed to speak a bit too slow for his tastes

If I were to make a prediction based on my hunch, I'd say that Asmon would return to the game 4 to 6 months before the release of patch 7.0. Either that or 3 months after 7.0 releases.

yeah right? xiv community has a really hard time producing passable humor for some reason.
The metal pipe is funny because it's postironic, which fits largely postironic modern internet culture. If you use genuine irony today (something with obvious punchline, like original trollface etc.), it's weird, because it's like you're stuck in a 2012 time bubble and never got past that type of humor. Idk, for me xiv humor just feels old and simple in 95% cases.

Asmon will probs hop back on for the 7.0 update since one of the aspects of ff14 he really didn't like were its graphics
And in two streams, the FFXIV community will chase him away with their obsession of telling him (and other streamers) how to play and enjoy a simple story.
@@Niikkos Well to be fair it was also his WoW fans too. There is a clip that went around of him finding out a few of the "FFXIV players" turned out to be hardcore WoW players trying to gaslit him into quitting, and to their credit, it worked. There was also a mod that pretty much stoked the fires and flames by deleting any sort of criticism, only highlighting the gaslighting posts, and so forth on his subreddit (as such Asmon only gets the "insane" views from FFXIV).
@@Niikkos Plenty of ff14 streamers I've seen that just want to go through the different quests have pretty chill chats that respect blind runs and not backseating unless streamer asks for help figuring out mechanics.
That's just his community that's pathetic as fuck and his mods let them behave like that so they never mature. Bet a vast majority of those fuckers who ragged on him throughout his FF14 streams are still watching him and ragging on other bs.
And that's intentional because that's his target audience. The toxic drama seekers. It's all a neverending content farm for him. When he stops having fun with games he looks for drama to pay the bills and these suckers will shovel oodles of cash at him if he keeps giving them drama of any kind (WoW drama, ff drama, fucking real life drama with Johnny Depp). It's lucrative for him and will make him far wealthier than any of his gaming content ever could.
It's the same reason why low effort reality tv is always so popular while high production serialized shows often have a far smaller audience in comparison.
Kinda weird how no one ever really points it out but I guess that's because it's pretty boring/depressing to acknowledge the truth lol.
@@russpc9739 Nah, there were wow fans posing as FFXIV andies. There was a huge post on Asmon's subreddit about it and he addressed it on stream as well.

I was actually a FFXIV guy since HW, and I didn't know who Asmondgold was until he came to FFXIV. And I've been an Asmond enjoyer ever since then.
I sadly don't play FFXIV anymore, but I also don't play WoW either.

Final Fantasy is like one of those cult classic movies that you absolutely love, and I loved the journey. But I don't want to spoil it by forcing myself to play the game if I don't enjoy it. So I love that I can always look back at the story fondly and with great memories with friends.
I'll be back next expansion!

Asmond had a glam contest whilst playing and he had Zepla join as one of the judges. However every time she tried to talk she got cut off etc. I think, that's what the snoring bit is about.
I didnt even watch this video fully, but the final conclusions seems to be a wow streamer X quitting ff14. be it asmon or any other, doesnt matter. the reason these ppl hopped onto ff14 was to create more content while wow was shit. hopping onto a bandwagon. like most youtubers/streamers do, nothing special. polarizing makes more money nowadays than being good at something.
I'd really love to see Asmon come back to ffxiv but obviously as the video showed bits of the community were just pushy and wanted him to do what they wanted him too, and he got bitched at and whined at for ages about it, Not shocked he didn't come back tbh maybe one day...

to answer your question, when is asmon playing the game again? the answer is simple, not everyone, but the players of ff14 are worse then wow players! the level of toxicity from ff14 is astounding! again not all, but i hope he never does, so he dont experience more of the worse kind. sadly :(

😆 asmon isn't gonna play the game anymore. He made his easy UA-cam cash grab money and just went back to wow. That's all that was, an easy money method until wow got it's update. Tried blaming people for runing his fun but we know better that he was gonna drop ff14 fast.

I'm pretty sure it was the stress of his chat brawling over him playing it versus wow and he was just getting over the death of his mom and didn't need extra drama to deal with everyday.
