And don’t miss the man with all the USPS info: / @mrfinesse316
this is the best video ive seen on usps jobs. It has exactly what i needed to know!
Ex usps worker here. If you here looking at how the future as an rca is gonna be I suggest you look for another job. By no means is this job hard but if you have kids a significant other or just have or want a out of work life this job is not for you. The people at the post office do not care abt you they care abt your route and most Mondays will consist of you coming home near midnight and most other days you’ll be miserable. As a young person this job has taken advantage of me and screwed me out of almost a year of my life with nothing to show for it but a beat up van and thirsty pockets. Don’t let that 20 an hour fool you cuz trust me every paycheck you get gonna look like it’s missing a couple zeros
Thank you ❤❤❤
I started as an RCA in ‘97 , made regular in 2000……after the recent RRECS evaluations, I went from a 45K to a 48K.
I’m averaging 200-225 scans daily, as we still have Amazon…..keep up the hard work!
Nice work!
You are so right. You gotta have it organize. Girl you are doing great. I just made regular in March of this year. Please hang in there. Girl it's amazing to just go your route and your route only.
Thank you! And congratulations on making regular!
I can imagine - knowing when you’re going home!
I’m determined to make it too!
Hang in there gets better once you make regular . Took me 2 1/2 years but love my route now
Thank you! I really do like it - just these long days! 😮💨
I commend rural carriers!
Thank you! It’s not easy - but not nearly as hard as city carrying!
Love it! 🔥♥️💪🤗
😊😊😊
Today was my first day by myself on the route I'm going to be covering. 😵
They sent other carriers to help me because I was running late. It's not hard but is a lot of work. I have two apartments complex on my route.
That’s so exhausting!
It feels like 4,000 little things you have to keep tabs on while you’re working on memorizing things. 😣
It never feels good when someone has to come out, and the other carrier is usually not in a good mood either!
But please don’t beat yourself up over it - they all needed help before too!
Before you know it you’ll be an expert. 🌈
I am finally going to be starting as a RCA in 2 weeks! I am so excited and was wondering if you have any MUST have items that help you with your day. thanks! 😊
Congratulations!
Yes! Great question!
There are some very essential things:
Water
A snack
Good comfy shoes
Cold weather gear
Rain gear
And I will outline more soon!
@@mailladykatie awesome, thanks
Thank you so much ❤❤
Great video! I'm starting as an RCA in a month or so, and my question is how will you know if you'll be using your vehicle or an LLV?
You need to call your office and ask. I just went through the academy and not a single person in the class knew that they have to use their own vehicle. If you’re in a major city as an RCA, there’s a decent chance you’ll get an LLV, but if you’re in a small town, you’ll be using your own.
It looks like you were using the steering stick do you like it? Is it easy to get use to? Thank you for the great info! I’m just starting my journey I start orientation in a couple weeks and just trying to learn as much as I can before hand. I will also be driving from the passenger side already installed my pedals right now I’ve just been practicing with a spinner on my steering wheel. Thank you again and have a great day!
Nice work! You’re ahead of the game! 👍🏻
You get used to the stick after a few days - it’s a little tiring, though. It takes more torque than you’d expect to make a full turn.
You’re so welcome! Thanks for asking!
YOU ARE AMAZING
The postal family is amazing!
@@mailladykatie YES WE ARE.
You have the nicest rca vehicle that I’ve seen. 😩👍
Thanks!
It’s really a little too nice for how hard it gets used! But that’s what our family had!
Looking at a Ford explorerbits a 2006 w 238 miles!!!! Ahhhh !!! How many miles do you have and what year...how long did it take you to get it down
That’s a lot of use! If you’re a car girl I say go for an old one, it’s gonna get beat up anyway. But if that’s not your jam (like myself), I’d say make sure it’s super reliable cause you can’t be sure your station will have something for you when it breaks down.
The stick took a while! I’d say maybe a week? It was weird to drive in the other side for a while!
How are you driving from the passenger seat? Lol
I have a set of aftermarket pedals and a steering stick. My next video is from inside the truck - I hope you like it!
@@mailladykatie okay look forward to seeing your next video! Never applied for that position because I thought you had to have a special vehicle lol
boy do i feel sorry for you for working for the post office
Do you know the reason why Rural carriers are not allowed to wear the Post Office uniform? Thanks in Advance
I don’t! Isn’t it weird? I’m guessing it’s a union thing? I’m going to look into it. 👍🏻
Do Rca have to drive there own vehicle or do some use company vehicles ? I applied for rca but ide prefer to not deliver in my car.
can you have tint on your personal vehicle?
What if you have to potty?
Still working as an RCA?
How do you drive that car ,since the steering wheel is on the left ?
I use a stick! You can see it in my ride-along video ‘cause I got my husband to film from the backseat! 😄
Interested big time to be a RCA but do we need a reliable personal car or does usps provide their own???
That’s what I’m wondering.
