I have watched 100 tutorials trying to figure out where to start, how to glue the pieces etc. You explained this sooo well and now it really makes me want to try it for my granddaughters upcoming birthday. Thank you so much!!
I have just started making shaker cake toppers, and I completely agree with @angieridge9180. I have watched a hundred tutorials, and honestly yours is the best. I have made 3 toppers now, and I keep coming back to your video for reference. You are for real a life saver! Thank you!!
Wow!! I can’t thank you enough for this tutorial. I was so overwhelmed on how to make a layered cake topper but You made it simple for me to follow! Thanks again for sharing!
To avoid the glue from drying out in between uses… put a moist paper towel inside a cup. Put the glue bottle face down with the tip resting on the moist paper towel. It stops the glue from spilling out of the bottle and drying out. Good thing is glue is always at the tip ready to come out. Hope this helps.
Beautiful! Clear instructions and I appreciate it! I ran out of card stock and just used vinyl and it came out really nice! Ordered new supply of card-stock now that I practiced! Thanks for the tutorial!👍🏻🫶🏻🥰
Thank you because my parents 49th anniversary is this month and I wanted to make a shaker cake topper but I’ve never done it before. You made it look easy. Thanks!
Thank you, Trina and congrats to your parents on 49 years of marriage! I'm sure you'll do fine on your cake topper. You can tag me in your pics on Instagram @insideoutlined
Thank you so much for this awesome easy to follow cake topper tutorial I made it but instead of the crown did a Minnie Mouse head and pink and girlie for my daughter!💕💕
I saw on IG that the cricut can cut foam with its regular blade so maybe trying cutting foam and using glue instead of using foam tape 🤷♀️ regardless yours looks GREAT already! 👏
What about the first two layers you took off the one, the light blue trim and the dark blue trim? how did you configured those two that are not even discussed in the video when they are apart of how to configure the shaker. Can you discuss how you made those two? Thanks
Dollar tree has multi-packs of the foam tape with different widths. One of them is pretty thin, I don't have the packaging to give exact size but its a 3 pack.
Hi Sarah, that's the double-sided foam tape that I used from Dollar Tree and I absolutely love it. I may need to instead adjust my design so that it is wide enough to hide the foam tape. Thanks for your response.
@InsideOutlined you literally did such a quick, amazing, and simply beautiful tutorial. I've tried cake toppers and have been wanting to try a shaker, after watching no longer worried about trying!
@@sasgrl90 Thank you Sarah!! Below is the link to the foam tape I get from Dollar Tree. The smallest one which was 0.25 inches was still a little too wide. So for future cake toppers I will make my design a bit wider. www.dollartree.com/crafters-square-pop-dot-tape-3ct-roll-packs/238218

Hi Allie, It depends on how wide or thick your offset is. At the time of this video recording, the Offset tool was in Beta mode. Now you should be able to change the thickness of your offset and still have the inside piece of the "A" to cut out as well. I hope that makes sense. Byrd
Hello. I used the foil acetate setting and cut the acetate 2 times. When your machine is done cutting the acetate the first time, do not unload it. Click the Go button again and that should do it.
Hi Nanishka, The confetti I used is listed below. If you have a local Dollar Tree I suggest going there instead of buying online. When you buy online you have to buy in bulk. www.dollartree.com/crafters-square-tube-confetti-3ct-packs/293230 www.dollartree.com/crafters-square-metallic-sequins/188778

Hi Angeles! I usually eyeball it and I also use a ruler to determine how wide I want the name to be. Since the name Ace only has 3 letters, the size I used for the cake topper looks really good. I hope that helps.

Do you have to use the foam tape? Or can you use something else that will not show in between?

I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 for this project.
Hello what was the name of the font for the number one I thought I heard chunk but couldn't understand the last part of what you said so Ig you don't mine can you give me both font names please and thank you
Hello,
I use the Chunk Five font or the Arial Black font.
The chunk five came up but the arial black didn't came up
I think the Arial Black font is a Microsoft font that Design Space pulls in from Microsoft Office.
O OK thanks I'll just try it with something else but thanks for all your help and your step by step your very helpful
You’re welcome! Look for bold and thick fonts. I know your cake topper will come out amazing.
When I try to Offset the outline, it fills the entire 1 in instead of giving me the border for the outline of the one...Why?????
