As the World Turns was one of the best soaps of the 80's. Famous people like Meg Ryan and Julianne Moore got their start on this show. My favorite couple was Holden and Lily.

@@cocoaorange1 Being a Heroin addict in recovery, I am never shocked, but this one did shock me, he was a high functioning addict which is pretty rare so I had no idea he was even an addict
because they dont do proper research when they make up these things imo.
My aunt Mary enjoyed all the old soap opera and as a child she had all my cousin watching them.
It was my number 1 favorite soap opera Dark Shadows number 2 i was so upset when they cancelled As The World Turns ❤

There were multiple reasons As The World Turns was canceled. I don't buy into the whole story of the long-running series seeing low to mediocre ratings. People were still watching ATWT. Thoughts that went through my mind include... If Proctor & Gamble had allowed CBS to buy a partial ownership stake or outright ownership of the show, that it'd still been on or lasted a few additional seasons. Or ATWT could've brought in new writers and producers to get the show back on track. ATWT's sister show Guiding Light may have been on life support in its final years on the air, and I wish CBS and P&G could've given GL a 6-month extension. ATWT was at least getting better in its last year or 2 on the air.
I heard they got canceled because of low ratings. I loved Guiding Light and As the world turns.
It was canceled by Leslie Moonves to make room for THE TALK hosted by his mistress turned wife Julie Chen. One of the worse decisions in television programming history! 😡 Never watched THE TALK for this reason. 🥴😓🥴
@mozellentertainmentgroup5309 Good news is The Talk is ending its run in December. Its slated replacement is new daytime soap The Gates, coming January 2025.
Funny how Julie Chen continues to stand by her man. It also remains to be seen whether gets around to ending Big Brother as that show has overstayed its welcome.
