Dennis Farina was also in the 'Crime Story' series. I enjoyed that series tremendously also. However, Jerry Orbach was my all time favorite detective of Law and Order. He always had a comment with a touch of humor in every episode.
Law & order the original was an incredibly good show. Great characters and great stories. My absolute favorite was Jerry Orbach. He brought so much to the Lenny Briscoe character w humor and wit and grace. I was so sad when he passed away 😢.
Briscoe was the best detective character ever on any TV Law or Police show. Fred Thompson, Richard Belzer, and Stephen Hill were all extremely good actors who made the show special. You could not imagine Law and Order without any of them
