This is so fun nobody is ever ready for Arca it doesn't matter what background how much information you have whether you understand the language or have ever listened to electronic music before its always a beautiful confusing mix of emotions starting with kick III is kind of nuts really starting the show with a showstopper! Would love to see more Arca and Sophie! They have a big reaction following on youtube this will probably get recommended to a lot of people like it did me!
arca is incredible, she has produced for kanye west in yeezus, with björk for vulnicura and utopia, fka twigs on multiple projects (every song on ep2) lights on, synths on two weeks, hours and give up on lp1, synth on holy terrain for Magdalene, and production for tears in the club and thank you song on caprisongs, as well as kelela and others also by the way after her self titled album is when her albums featured her vocals, before self titled her albums were instrumental
Favorite arca record Also sophie is a bit more structured but still crazy textures she is more about the emotions she has an ep called product and an album called oil of every pearl's un-insides And a bunch of unreleased music which is all amazing
I would also recommend lp1 by fka twigs Some songs on it were produced by arca but it is more of a trip hop/artpop kinda sound so more accessible Like a modern kate bush or björk Edit: Wait you mentioned her 😅 but if you've only heard caprisongs you're missing out big time
@@occhio2377 lp1, mellissa (the actual title is judt spelled weirdly) and then magdalene The first two are my favorites though magdalene was the album that brought her fame
Great reaction! Would love to hear your thoughts on Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood. She is like a mix of Mitski and Joni Mitchell. Great voice with swelling songs. Majority of critics pointed it as the best album of 2019.
I would recommend Xen for the next Arca reaction - it’s a good instrumentals album, before she started using her voice more on her productions. ‘Prada’ is the perfect music video to react to to get a feel for how she performs in her insane visual world. Its a literal work of art 🖼️
I think the reason you're having a hard time getting into this is you didn't listen in order, she eases you onto this sort of harsh sound, like by the time you got to Skullqueen and Electra Rex you were getting it a bit more but it's still not enough, like the first 2 albums definitely progressed to this

OH SHIT, IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! I'm looking at her production credits rn.

Umm wtf I didn’t expect this 😭😭 I was gonna sleep but nevermind
LISTEN MUTANT BY ARCAAAA ITS THE PEAK OF HER SOUND DESIGN
I will for the sound design
@@occhio2377 btw you are cool, i like your videos
i personally think this is her most aggressive record. it kind of reminded me of thats harakiri by sd laika but this is a bit structured
I'm gonna check out another album soon
31:20 she is saying, "I want to tell you that you are a jewel among men. I feel so much love, so much love." 💗 Joya means jewel
I would also recommend lp1 by fka twigs

I do need to get to more FKA Twigs albums

If you want a music video I'd recommend Mequetrefe or even El Alma Que Te Trajo.
Arca did some work on kelelas album “take me apart” id recommend that album or her newest “raven”…

I'm used to it now, even tho there are songs I don't go back to, I have a handful of songs that really inspire me. Did another Arca video last week
