You should definitely react to Kick i! In terms of genres it's definitely the most diverse album made by Arca, there's some instrumental tracks, Spanish, English, slow, fast etc. It's what made me a fan of Arca!
Do oil of every pearl’s uninsides by SOPHIE!!! It’s another great electronic album with the same experimentation as this, but a more structured one. Sophie is another great DJ but gone too soon :(( (Sophie and Arca actually also have a collab on Kick I. If you check out Kick I, you’ll hear a mix of their sounds)
The beauty of this album is that it can take you to a very dark place and bring you out as a new person. Arca’s first track “Bruja” compared to “Joya” really shows how talented and versatile she is.
I wanted to add that Kick ii is widely considered the “reggaeton album” kick iii is committed to the concept of “deconstructed club beats.” To quote pitchfork, “Where KiCK ii is the (mostly) reggaeton disc, KicK iii is dedicated to experimental club beats influenced by the IDM of Arca’s youth. Pairing the risk-taking instinct of her best music with the swaggering confidence she projects as a kind of cyborg diva, it is the best of all five albums in the set, and one of her strongest full-lengths to date.”
i really don't know why but bruja is such a healing song for me. it helps me calm down when i feel angry and it somehow makes me feel better is i'm overwhelmed with senses when it feels like it should do the opposite lol.
what you said when you paused electra rex, about who arca makes music for, that is like SPECIFICALLYY who she makes music for you got it head on! one of her earlier albums is called Mutant and like that's kinda her whole thing, that radical hyper individualism and acceptance of others
I really appreciate and love your sense of openness when it comes to music. You hit the nail on the head with suggesting the sense of no restrictions and limitless expressions when describing Arca’s music! Your reactions are so genuinely in response to music and that’s what’s so endearing, love it ♥️
I am a huge Arca fan and that's why I ended up on your video but I honestly I got so charmed by your personality and genuinity, especially on the Beyonce video. You have just an endearing and sweet aura to yourself and I kind fell for it. Anyways, I wanted to give you my personal insight on "when I would listen to Arca" since that's something I got asked in the past. I think that many (but not this album) of Arca's song don't have a lot of replayability value, you don't listen to it in the way you would listen to a standard pop song with a simple structure. You listen to these songs because you are fascinated by the new sounds and structures just like a newborn puts objects in their mouth to discover new textures. Eventually tho you get used to the weird sounds and genuinely vibe to it. That's why I listen to Arca or others in any context.
You said something about some of these could be used in sci-fi movies which reminded me of a single Arca released called @@@@@ (if you ever search it on UA-cam you can just put arca aroba) which is like the ultimate Sci-fi type music/sound. It's very abstract in its structure and focuses more on story/emotion. I'd recommend it but it's a little over an hour long and probably one of the hardest things to digest for someone who isn't a fan. I guess one could also say its like the prelude to the Kick albums, but I like the think its events happen simultaneously. I like to think that most of the songs are a part of the story (messages from an extradimensional being) but I also feel like not a lot of people recognize or correlate it (especially those that only just recently got into Arca) which is sad cuz it's an awesome setting: "@@@@@ is a transmission broadcasted into this world from a speculative fictional universe, in which the fundamentally analogue format of FM pirate radio remains one of few means to escape authoritarian surveillance powered by a hostage sentience gestated by a post-singularity AI. The host of the show, known as DIVA EXPERIMENTAL lives across multiple bodies in space in virtue of her persecution - in order to kill her, one would first have to find all of her bodies. The bodies that host her carry fetishes for paralinguistics, breaking the fourth wall and nurturing a mutant faith in love in the face of fear."
I love this album and I've never really enjoyed listening to it with someone else coz their response would always be rejection, but this time It was a party girl, sending love to you keep it going
The best thing ab Arca is that she does everything herself even outside the music aspect like the art and the clothes everything that you can possibly imagine even the production, engineering, mixing, vocals, recording process, lyrics literally everything!! I love her sm
MY FAVORRITTTE!!! Im surprised no one has mentioned this but I watched you react to every FKA album (not sure if you knew this, but FKA is for “formerly known as twigs” because like the song “video girl” states she was snobbed and ignored by the entire music industry. What i wanted to comment on is that you loved papi bones and a great in between from arca to fka is Shy Girl. Shes the female feature on papi bones that’s patios but not the male voice. I hope someone else in the comments reads this and backs it up! Thank you again for being so open minded to the darkest corners of queer music and showing that everyone and anyone can vibe to anything and everything. Thank you again for making such good content ❤.
Thank you so much for this beautiful comment, I plan on checking out Shygirl very soon. I do try my best to be open minded, I think doing UA-cam and interacting with you all has definitely expanded my musical taste. Thanks again for tuning in, I appreciate it so much!
"Fka" is just random letters. She didnt know it meant "formally known as" but the name twigs was just used by someone else already. Iirc she wanted to use "afk" before she found out it meant "away from keyboard"
My journey with Arca began with "Arca" album, it's more ambient ethereal, if you can say so. One of my favourites. It felt for me emotionally so relatabe. Still love her and as well truly enjoy other albums
i love arca’s music so much and i love that you’re open to listen!! i know she’s not exactly for everyone but for me her kick albums are a perfect mix of futuristic, bizarrely ethereal and like horror. if ur looking for another album like this, Oil of Every Pearl’s Uninsides by the late SOPHIE is a great next step! her work is a bit easier to digest as well
Do KiCk iiii & iiiii next they’re very ambient and atmospheric with themes of love and self-identity, very beautiful pieces (also try Kick i, its her most diverse of the kicks in terms of the range of genres and sounds she captures in an album)
kick iii feel so much more of an in between than kick i or ii. I really love hearing your thoughts and perspective on the experimental music being made now! You should react to Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides by Sophie
a little fact about senorita, arca and azealia were about to release a feat., but before, arca releases a feat with sia... And azealia has a beaf with sia, so she goes on instagram and talk shit about arca from nowhere, being transphobic and stuff, and also block her (if you search on yt, it has the live).... Arca then calls azealia producer (machinedrum) and do this diss track, thats why its in english... and the lyrics makes total sense from the transphobia stuff
I love your reactions so much it felt so enjoyable I was even bopping along 🤣 also, not sure if you know but ARCA produced many beats for Fka twigs and Bjork (you should listen to her latest album 😏)
My friend threw this album on when we were on shrooms and I had one of the scariest yet insane experiences of my life lmfao when morbo came on i literally felt like my body was being ripped apart by it it was crazy I felt that shit in my whole body I'm also pretty sure that Arca is actually working on a soundtrack for a movie right now! Not sure what movie, but that will definitely be interesting regardless of the movie.
@@xenduvall I’ve done shrooms a many of times and that was one of the craziest experiences I had, it was like I was uploaded into the story Arca’s sounds were making (which is kind of what music always feels like tripping but w arca specifically like it’s just sounds you’ve literally never heard before and it’s like a much more like “cosmic” experience if that makes sense…like I felt like I was like a metal object in the middle of space)
I love Arca’s music and can definitely say it took a while to get there especially coming from her first releases (Mutant which is one of my favourite albums ever is fully instrumental) and I am just amazed by the complexity of the sound engineering and the rhythm composition. i’m so into it i don’t really realise how bizarre it sounds as a newcomer and how much it means in terms of expressing freedom. thank you for your openness and your beautifully worded opinions! sending love from Italy ❤
I looooooove the way you listen to music! You're so openhearted and fun, and even when something isnt your cup of tea, you're Always able to appreciate the structures and the different emotional moods! Since u Said u would like to know how the sounds are Made, you will love to know that Arca has shared her way of producing her beats online! I would love you to react to Bjork albums, very interesting journey (imo the best ones are medulla, fossora, vulnicura, biophilia)!! Thank you for your reactions!!
Interesting to watch your reaction, considering you already reacted to Twig's Caprisongs (which Arca produced several songs including the lead single with The Weekend, Tears In The Club). You should definitely keep going in your Arca journey, hope next one is Kick I (which has partnerships with Björk and Rosalia, among others on the tracklist). My recommendations are Björk's new album Fossora, and Tetê Espíndola's vanguard electronic album "Gaiola", which is an absolute hidden treasure and would be completely out of your zone. This album is not available on Spotfy but it is uploaded on UA-cam. Love your vids
Love seeing the honesty in your reactions! Arca can put you off if you start with expectations of music being “correct”, but it’s such a payoff to listen to. Many pieces in kick iii sound like fractals, as u look closer u find new worlds ❤❤
kinda curious what would you think about lady gaga's a;bum chromatica. also teh remix album of that album: dawn of chromatica. Arca remixed one of the song there.
I see you from México, Love the way you listen to music cause I am so like that feeling the sounds transporting me out of this world and I Love Arca too. Saludos
Loved this reaction and the Kick II one too! Since you're at it, you should give a chanche to the other kicks too - kick i, kick iiii and kick iiiii. The last one is my personal fav, super calm and tender.
It’s absolutely fine if you don’t vibe with these two albums. Wouldn’t recommend them for the first arca listening. You should give Kick i or arca (Album) a Chance, they’re more melodic ❤
i NEED you to react to kick 5 but i need you to preheat listening to some of the craziest tracks from Arca. When you get to Kick 5 with that energy and crazyness inside, you'll release it so differently. I leterally cried over some tracks of Kick 5 like Pu and Tierno (this one's SO intimate)
You should definitely react to Kick i! In terms of genres it's definitely the most diverse album made by Arca, there's some instrumental tracks, Spanish, English, slow, fast etc. It's what made me a fan of Arca!
and it’s less abrasive and all up in your face but it’s still crazy and fun
me too, i discovered the album on soundcloud during quarantine while i was on my school's chromebook ☠
@@jarekjaskolska5703 Are you saying that the kick is better than the kick iii ?
Yassss and her Stretch albums 1 and 2 :)

Yeeees
PLEAAAAASE
i just love how authentic these reactions are and how willing you are to listen to different genres (especially since arca is so out there lol)
Arca transports souls to a new dimension once listened to
.
if you loved the calmness ethereal part of this album you'll love Kick IIII it's basically the calm after the storm
Kick IIIII is also ambient but very dark
The beauty of this album is that it can take you to a very dark place and bring you out as a new person. Arca’s first track “Bruja” compared to “Joya” really shows how talented and versatile she is.
10:03 THAT PART
Punto final

arca’s entire discography is AMAAAAZING

love the last track “Joya” because it’s like after the storm song, there’s a sunshine at the end of the storm
Arca does livestreams on her instagram where she produces sometimes! You can find them on youtube too
When you said this music feels like a safe space I felt that!! 💖💖💖 That's basically Arca's whole philosophy right on the nose. 😊
Loved every mf second of your reaction beautiful queen arca is everything to me and for you just to vibe means alots to me ❤🎉
I really appreciate you saying that. More Arca on the way. :)

You are so funnyyy! Exactly how I am listening to her bopping and grooving lmao.
I love your reactions so much it felt so enjoyable I was even bopping along 🤣 also, not sure if you know but ARCA produced many beats for Fka twigs and Bjork (you should listen to her latest album 😏)
