Hey Krista!!!! I was so excited to see this video!!! You have got me so excited about reading middle grade books. I know for sure that I plan to grab The Mysterious Benedict Society, Winter House, Unbound, and Pages & Co. I know that my daughters will love some of these books as well. Thanks for sharing....hugs...Alisha
YES! The Westing Game is my favorite book from when I was a kid. Likely still my favorite book, lol. I never see it on any lists. It's so fun to read and it was written so well.
I can feel your excitement for MMM in all of your latest videos. I am for sure going to join in for the group read and I am interested in Winterhouse. I put it on hold at the library. Happy MMM reading my friend.
My very fast reader 10 year old has to read every day for school. These suggestions are so helpful. Looking forward to your middle grade march content!
My coworker loves the Winterhouse series! It’s on my list of recs for kids who ask for mysteries. This year we read Mysterious Benedict Society for a library program with 5-6th graders and agree about its appeal - it was up there with the kiddos favorites! So many good books! I’d love to read some more Kate DiCamillo this month... I’m with you on hopefully shooting for 20-25 books. How exciting!
I have heard good things about Winterhouse. I didn't know until recently that it was the start of a series. I'm a bit hesitant to pick it up now because I really want to make progress in my unfinished series, but I'll probably read it anyways! haha. Same with Benedict Society.
Thank you for this, there was a book I forgot I wanted to look into (The Wishing Spell) and this would be a good time to try it. I'm loosely doing MGM and March Mystery Madness. In order to try to get to some books I've been looking at for a while and/or looking up some new ones (mostly the MMM for new ones...and mostly cozy mysteries). They may not all fit prompts but great excuse still to try them. ☺
No need to fit all the prompts. They're just guides/suggestions to help pick books. Read just 1 middle grade and you're in! :) Hope you read some great books in March!
I’m finally going to read Sweep this March! It sounds so good. I am also planning to read A Little Princess and The Mysterious Benedict Society. When the Mountain Meets the Moon is a nice story. I own the first book in the Land of Stories so I might try to squeeze it in.
Haha. I could say the same! I have at least 3 others I forgot to add to this list. Plus the bunch I just brought home from the library! UGH! haha. I have a middle grade problem!
Yay! I can think of quite a few books I forgot to mention here to...like my whole pile of Newbery winners and honor books! I guess I'll have to do another video...or two. haha
The original trilogy of The Mysterious Benedict Society is my second favorite middle grade series!!!! I need to finish Winterhouse. I picked it up at the wrong time, while I was in a reading slump, and I need to give it another go, because it’s really well written. The Phantom Tollbooth is one of my favorite books of all time. It’s very heavy on wordplay, which I’ve always loved. My mom and I still talk about it, and I’m in my 30s now!
I think “Smailholm” is the most tongue-twistery book title I have ever seen 😂 I’m so excited for Middle Grade March! This will be the first year that I’m participating in every single challenge and also the group book!
Smailholm is only .99 for the kindle edition right now on Amazon!! It a 92% savings!! My library didn't have it so was so excited to get it on my Kindle!! What a amazing TBR!! Middle grade march is my favorite read a thon!!
March can't come quickly enough for me. I am so excited that the 3rd annual Middle Grade March is almost here! My TBR for March is: - The Book of Boy - The One and Only Ivan - Counting by 7s - Hello, Universe - Orbiting Jupiter - Amal Unbound - The Wednesday Wars - Refugee - The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise - Ban This Book - A Little Princess There are several other books I'd like to read, but I think I might be setting my sites a bit high. Show less
That's an awesome list! I totally forgot I want to read Wednesday Wars. I keep seeing the Netflix A Little Princess movie and have to stop myself from watching it. Can't wait to read that one. Refugee is SO good. I wish I mentioned that for book set in another country. Have fun!
If you liked Howl’s moving castle there are four more books in the series! Diana Wynne Jones was an amazing author and I’d recommend so many of her books. It’s hard to go wrong there. Her books range from adult to kidlet so double check what you are getting. Also Phantom Tollbooth: childhood favorite classic for me. My mom never got into it though.... 😱🥺. but if you like Dahl’s kid books, this is a bit similar w/out the schadenfreude. Just read “Young Whit: Traitor’s Treasure” yesterday and if you liked Adventures in Odyssey this may appeal to some of ya’ll for the mystery category. A bit more modern feeling than I had expected but oh well.... I put a few on this list from this video from my online library! So I am excited.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and recommendations, Jill! I don't think I realized when I read Howl that it was part of a series. I don't plan on reading the rest right now, but maybe someday. Glad you found a few to add to your tbr!
Yes just wanted to let you know I finally read Sweep:Girl and enjoyed it quite a bit! I’m hoping to get Book of Boy from my library soon ( 🤞this month?) but there is a wait list. Last year it wasn’t even available yet though, same w Sweep! 👍🏻
I may need to reread Wishtree soon. Actually doing this video made me want to reread a few of these books. (I'm looking at you, A Monster Calls.) I have SO SO many books to read though! #goodproblems
Great recommendations! I have SO many I want to read! I have several that you talked about that aren't on my original TBR so hopefully I will have time to get to a few more than I planned.
I think I subscribed to your channel at the end of last March so I missed Middle Grade March. I'm definitely gonna read one or two this month so I can say that I participated.
@@BooksAndJams I think I'm gonna read 'The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane' by Julia Nobel. Someone had posted it on Instagram and I came across it as I was scrolling through. It sounds very interesting and right up my alley.
I haven't started Book of Boy. But I kind of knew it wouldn't have the broad appeal as our last couple years group picks. I've already been hearing mixed things. Looking forward to seeing what I think!
I am very very excited for next month. This year I am hopefully doing all the prompts :) My video will be out on Friday :) So many great recommendations! The Gemini Mysteries sounds like a lot of fun.
I am SO looking forward to #mgm2020! I have my copy of The Book of Boy, really looking forward to reading that, plus I have probably easily 8 or 10 other middle grade books to read in March!! Let's just have lots of fun reading middle grade books! ! 😊❤📚
Ugh! Wish I could devote all of March to middle grade but I’m in other book clubs! I have three physical books I’m going to get in as well as a few on Kindle, but I may have to add a few after watching this!
I think my TBR might be a bit over ambitious. I’ve found so many I’m looking forward to reading. The first one I’m starting with The Bookwanderers. I’ve got a ton for each prompt. The Vanderbeekers are also on my list as is the second book in The land of stories series. I’ve got plenty of WWII books as well as some that are just for fun.So many of your reds I’ve already read including The war that saved my life and it’s sequel which both made me cry. Also loved Wonder.
I read Book of Boy, (writing very different but I really liked the ending), Boy on a Wooden Box and Sweep. Loved both of them! Starting Inkheart tomorrow. This is the first time I'm participating in MGM and I wonder why did I wait 2 years???
I can't wait to get started with Book of Boy. Soon...soon. I have Boy on the Wooden Box on my shelves. Hoping to get to that one. Glad you're "FINALLY" participating in MGM! haha.
So many great recommendations! I love some of these too, Walk Two Moons and The Way That Saved my Life 😍 I think you'll love A Little Princess and The Tale of Despereaux (I loved the book so much more than the movie)!
I have my copy of Hilter stole Pink Bunny to my school. Don't who recommended Tea Dragon society. I miss wonder ful book just finished.reading book of boy now and others to read including Sweep.
Thanks for sharing! Sitting here adding books to my TBR😁
Woohoo! I have already thought of a few more I want to read. Yikes!
Loved the video! Loved all your recommendations! 💖
Great! Glad to hear it. Thanks.

I read Unbound last year and really enjoyed it. I listened to it on audio and thought it was great! Glad you'll be participating this year.
Pages & Co is the first book on my TBR! I’m so excited for this readathon and added about 10 of the books you mentioned to my ever growing TBR!
Awesome! Glad to give you some more middle grade recs. More will be coming soon!
YES! The Westing Game is my favorite book from when I was a kid. Likely still my favorite book, lol. I never see it on any lists. It's so fun to read and it was written so well.
I didn't realize it was almost as old as I am! haha. It was a fun read for sure.
I can feel your excitement for MMM in all of your latest videos. I am for sure going to join in for the group read and I am interested in Winterhouse. I put it on hold at the library. Happy MMM reading my friend.
I have been waiting for months for this time of year! woohoo!! Glad you're joining in a bit!
Can’t wait

Picked up The Book of Boy from the library today. can't wait to start it on Sunday!
Yay! Glad you'll be joining in.
SO MANY GOOD BOOKS!!!!!
I am having fun looking at everyone's lists but that just makes my tbr bigger! I can already think of at least 3 more I didn't include!
You have several that I’ve very much enjoyed on your TBR. You pick such charming middle grade. 😄
Thanks! There are so many good ones!
This is so great! I am definitely participating in middle grade March as well! Awesome picks!

It's a spectacular little book! Hope you love it too!
Just picked up my library books for #Middlegrademarch. Can't wait to get started.
What book will you start with?
@@BooksAndJams Because of Winn Dixie then The Wishtree. Also The One and Only Ivan on audiobook.

I read Flora and Ulysses last march. It was super cute
Yay! I am glad to hear that. I had heard some mixed things about this one.
I picked up The Book of Boy this morning. It is a mystery so I can use it for Mystery Madness too!
Sweet! Two birds with one book! :)
So many great choices! The size of my TBR tells me I'll need to read 2 books a day lol AND I keep adding more!

I picked up when hitler stole the pink rabbit at a used book sale last year - I’m really looking forward to it!! Great variety of books.
I have heard good things about Pink Rabbit so I'm looking forward to that one too!
