- Arras motorhome adventures - who knew this place had such hidden depths and history? But is this their aire and town a good park up to end (or even start) a tour of France? We had to find out and below is a little info on why.
🚐 *Arras' Strategic Location: Convenient for Calais*
Arras sits at the crossroads of history and convenience in our opinion. Just a stone's throw from Calais, it's equally accessible whether you're leaving (or arriving) via the Eurotunnel or ferry. We chose Arras as our base for our last stop on this short campervan tour, and it made perfect sense.
Our adventure begins as we arrive at the Arras Aire (you might be familliar with the phrase camping car park). While it's not free (€11), the perks it offers are worth every penny. Picture spacious spots, essential amenities, and a sense of community- legit two French motorhomers came over to offer tips (off camera) .
🏰 *Discovering Hidden Gems: Wellington Tunnels, Squares and More*
We wander through Arras' historic heart, uncovering architectural marvels, cozy squares, and inviting cafés. Kelly even finds a charity shop!
But the real highlight? The Wellington Tunnels-a network of underground passages that played a pivotal role in one of World War I's largest battles. These tunnels hold secrets and stories waiting to be shared. We had mixed emotions as you'll see, but it is just so well done and a real must see.

Ah amazing to hear from you Dean. We are loving it, we are back in UK now for work and upgrades on the van again. But will be back out soon hopefully.
This is interesting to know, we have gotten less comments lately but higher watch time on the teleboxes. So thanks for jumping on to comment. Top gent.
nothing worse than an hangry wife lol, the mines look interesting. Im in the wing it crowd whilst my GF loves nothing more than planning our visits
Ha, and a hangry family is like a backpack full of fireworks! That's interesting, they do say opposites attract.
I’m more of a ‘sit on my butt’ camper. 😮
That is a totally great way to spend time; we are royalty of it at home and some sort of ants in our pants adventurers when on holiday 😂
