@@alexanderSydneyOz It's not about "capitalism" though capitalism, like mining and drilling, acts as an accelerator to the destruction of Life and the biotope that creates and supports it. It is the spoken language and the civilizations that it brings into being. No civilization is "sustainable" or compatible with Life. Thermodynamics of biotope functions by all species benefiting the whole overall. Humans and their actions have been and are orthogonal to physics of Life since leaving the forest.
We exceeded the carrying capacity for the planet when the human population surpassed 1 billion in the early 1800's. That is if we wanted to live on a planet with most of the planet's biomes still intact and the climate still habitable. Oh sure we can feed more humans on the planet, but for how long and at what cost to quality of life?
nope billions of humans just make the effects more visible. No human action has been within "carrying capacity" since pointy sticks and the harnessing of fire.
Talk about complicating something very simple: there are WAY TOO MANY people on the planet, and the industrial by-products of their existences are affecting the climate. Addressing the population size is the only ultimate solution, so no wonder some people are feeling a deep rooted anxiety, *despite* composting, driving EVs, and separating their trash before it is all put in the ground anyway. That is because those are ineffective strategies to achieve any useful outcome. You don't need a philosopher to understand that.
Lucidity is the acidic light that illuminates in darkness everything you see. Thank you.
Act whether we fear error or failure and its cost, or not, but act, we must!
It would be great to model out ur concept of hyper-objects .. it reminds me of the space between the metacrisis & the ‘industrial cup of tea’
End-Stage Capitalism...
people are constantly making this idiotic comment, or similar.
Let us know when it is going to finish, and what will replace it.
@@alexanderSydneyOzsocialism should replace broken genocidal capitalism

In the future when paleontologists dig up San Francisco they will call the 21st C. The Anthro-poo-scene.
There will not be any "paleontologists" in any "future".
Only natural systems will prevail.

Stupid.
"EV's" are far worse. This fact exemplifies the sheer ignorance of humans.
The use of the word 'environment' is a major error and signifies a speaker who misunderstands ecological reality.
