Fun Fact: Not only is Uta the character canon, but plenty of things shown in the movie are canon, like the stuff printed in Volume 4 Billion that came out. Or the fact that Luffy's love of singing came from his experiences with her as a kid, and that she's the reason he wanted a Musician so early into building his crew. Oda came out and stated this in an interview!
Oda gave out a "Volume 4 Billion" to Japanese Audiences that explained a bunch of stuff. And he's touched on some in interviews. Basically, Uta is a character that Oda wanted in the story but didn't know how to put her in, that's where Film Red came from. While the Events of the Movie isn't Canon, Uta herself is a real character in the Main Story. Where she is, What she's doing, we don't know. She may very well show up in the Epilogue of One Piece, or maybe when Luffy finally meets Shanks, Uta will be there. You can take the Ending of Film Red as a hint that Uta's may verywell be dead. Also a small thing people tend to forget, at the very start of One Piece when Shanks was on Dawn Island, he wasn't there for just a few days or weeks. He was on Dawn Island, or at least regually came back to it for a full year and we have only seen when Shanks first arrives on Dawn Island and a year later when Shanks gives Luffy the Starw Hat before leaving.

Uta is my fave one piece movie antagonist. Because all things said and done she was not evil just misguided. Had she not had her warped world view and just became a memberof the crew her abilities would be a perfect asset for the straw hats. If only.

Oda does a really neat thing with the movies, where while the events of the movie most likely aren't canon, everything about where the movies take place is definitely a part of the world. Some of the later movies also cleverly foreshadow events in later arcs. So those are fun details to look out for

Based on how the movie ended, does anyone else kinda think that Uta might've died? (even if the movie was canon or non-canon but just in general due to how the movie portrayed things). She never ended up taking her medicine to heal herself as she needed to save the people she put into Uta World; at the end when she was talking with Shanks, it looked & sounded like she was fading; & at the end where Luffy saw the Red-Hairs at the back of their ship kinda looked like they were crowded around what appears to somewhat sorta look like a coffin.

Uta is a canon character and all the flashbacks with Luffy in Fusha village are canon but the events of the concert itself are not. It sort of doesn't't matter where they are in the canon. IDK if there's a figure of Jinbe in the Elvis jumpsuit but there is of him in his clothes from the final battle. I have it. It's cool. The Elvis jumpsuit looks cooler.

One of the best animated movies with amazing songs, but at the same time one of the worst storyline and plot, even if something is good and interesting, overall the plot is very bad
