I like the shaker idea. I have a question about painting... I'm looking at redoing a deck. Some parts will be re-glassed and some parts won't be. Lets say 50 percent will be fresh glass. If there's gelcoat on it now - can I just fair the new glass, scuff the existing gelcoat and then use paint over top of the gelcoat? I'm unsure if I have to sand the entire deck down to bare glass if I'm going to paint it. Thanks.
