Slobbering is oil that gets pumped out of the engine when idled for extended periods. It is caused by the piston rings not sealing because the engine is not under load. Thats the oil along the bottom of the exhaust exhaust manifold making a big mess on the right side of the block. It is not a leak. Oil anywhere else is cause for concern.
Thank you for video. And a big thank you on showing a Detroit. My Favorite, have a 8-71 early 70s vintage. And a late 70s 353 Detroit Just changed the Oil on my 353, one of my Hydraulic Lines blew on backhoe end. So I looked at my log I keep on computer. And said. Time to change OIL. I hate to say this but it had only 80 hours on meter. I like 100 but it had been years sense I changed OIL. Don't rage on me. I am not going to wait that long again. The white cloth oil dip stick test showed the thick black waxed oil on her. She still ran like a top. But I do notice a difference with clean oil. My 8-71 I baby, it's a restoration project Truck. I do yearly all oil and fuel filters even though she only runs to shows. My next project is getting a Engine heater. The 353 starts so fine with heat on block. You do such great information on checking before buying. The soapy water is one I will remember, great advise, thank you my Trucker friend.
I was thinking of being owner operator but price of diesel here in state PA $6.58 plus I'm soon be 50 years old I don't have $20.000 dollars put down sucks can't win.
$0.75 of the PA price is IFTA tax, highest in the nation, but you only actually pay it on the miles you drive in PA. The overage gets rebated back to you. Upper Midwest usually has better fuel prices though. And you'll want to get a good fuel card with fat discounts. I've gotten discount as high as $0.96 per gal, but it's usually more like $0.40. Plus it should come with a price finder app which let's you see which place on your whole route has the best price after discount. And you'll want to understand how IFTA works because you want to subtract IFTA from the pump price before calculating who really has the lowest price. Can save an extra $25 to $100 per fillup on top of fuel card discount.
@@mewithouttherandomnumbers Oh thank you I didn't know all that but to buy truck you need 20.000 down I'm looking be local driver I did OTR 2 years I finally gave up now wanna do local. I like to own my own truck because lot company's lie just get you in the door,
@@giorgiotribastone7070 Keep your eyes open. The sector has been cooling off lately. Some people are saying the next "sector bloodbath" is coming up. Could be a lot more equipment available soon, looser credit, depending on how things play out.

You guys are just flat out honest and awesome!
Only way is buying old one and overhauled whole engine new radiator air compressor and turbo. Otherwise you would run into lots issues on the road.
That engine compartment is filthy.
