All those guys are just locals that hang around the marina looking for work. They’ve all become good friends over the last year, despite the thievery.

you realize that most of the 'work' video is almost a year old, and pieced together from colin's stack and his own clips- what do you think ten minutes of fresh work video in the whole thing?? whats your thought on his recent video descriptions about flaming and throwing under the bus the local yard crew? was that fun? what about when he asked advice from Parlay AND FREEDOM, about his stringer and bulkhead repair quality, trying to get them to say his 'worker' had gone light on the resins?- and nobody would confirm him, but Peter said you could do more.., and then Colin, said ya great.. and walked off the boat, and david said, yeah! colin said it was cool!' did you like that? was that informative? im glad neither peter, nor colin, said, 'yeah yer yard workers did a shit job.' that wouldve both busted the yard (which is small), and sent david into a manic whirlwind of downward spiral and probably sacrificed his families well-being. How would that have felt? Would David have thrown the yard under the bus or said- I should have been onsite working? Thoughts on character?

Great to finally see the progress on your boat! You learned a lot since you first arrived in Linton Bay for sure. Indeed the inner side of the hull over the door is most stressed and the force vectors should spread out diagonally there. Reinforcing it is a good thing while you are at it, but I am certain it would not have cracked if the bulkhead would not have given way first.

I haven't seen any videos of the installation of the official Lagoon repair kit. Has anyone seen that? I can't believe its anywhere as through as this... I want to buy a used Lagoon 46 or 50 but man they better have one hell of a fixer-upper kit for the 450 or funk dat.
the lagoon repair kit is great, but only for the bent bulkheads. they don't address the cracked tabbing that happens and also the bent beam. People are inspecting the bulkheads only so lagoon made a kit for the bulkheads only. if you get a fixer upper 450, i got a guy for you...carlos can probably do the whole job himself now!
DUDE your energy is amazing. Your repair segments are much more comical than Collins! Although he is the man!!! i used the west system to do some repairs on my 1989 power boat its super easy once you learn the lil tricks like you have. I like the lasagna trays( yes I'm Italian and I'm from NY) I'm gonna do that the next time and yes I got it in my hair and funny thing is I did it after I saw Collin do it. There's a couple with a toddler and newborn just above the Maldives and headed south. Several have suggested looking at Colin's video's and I'll mention you as well. The bulkheads are flexing worse as they sail. The cracks getting bigger and bigger. Just waiting on them reporting the damages. I hope you all can be of help. um... yes... 500's break so much worse when they break. we saw one in linton bay that literally cracked all the way across the bulkhead wall... like a massive 4 ft crack and separation. that being said, i really love the 500. just make sure you inspect carefully

To be honest I was a bit worried it was too repetitive since we were glassing the same section over and over. But I felt like the multiple sessions was important to show. @@david_shih Hi David, I live in Sydney, New South Wales Australia. We live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney which is beautiful. We have Pittwater as our port and the area is surrounded by National Parks. Pittwater also gives you access to Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River. We have great anchorages and fantastic beaches. Facilities for yachts is first class via the Royal Motor Yacht Club or the Royal Prince Alfred or one of the Marinas. Pittwater is about 18 nautical miles north of Sydney Harbour. As i said. It has great anchorages with moorings such as the Basin, Refuge Bay or Mackerel Beach. Very sheltered. I hope to see some great fishing videos of yours, tuna, wahoo mahai and even Marlin as you troll while sailing. Hang in there buddy, you doing a great job and I know you must be super busy. You boat Name Epic is a reflection of just how awesome it will be when finished. Super strong, fast, comfortable, safe, relaxing and fun. Its Epic. Does anyone know, am I wrong in thinking that if you use a laminating epoxy, you won't have to sand or use peelply between layers until the final layer? Just wondering.
Yes mark laminating epoxy is just that for add additional layers glass next layer has to be added before 24 or 48 hrs ad then after last layer you cover it completely air tight and it drys completely. Check west system and get their book it explains all of it if you can afford west system epoxy get it. It’s the best as far as I’m concerned very expensive though JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE

Sorry for the confusing time line….I’m a bit behind and still trying to catch up to real-time. This is from back then when we were on the hard next to parlay….the next few videos will be us continuing to fix everything and then finally splashing the boat. UA-cam time vs real time is always a bit annoying, but it’s really hard to do the boatwork and also edit (for me at least). Most channels are about 6 months behind but is really like to get to within a few weeks.

All those guys are just locals that hang around the marina looking for work. They’ve all become good friends over the last year, despite the thievery.

West epoxy can be cleaned for recoating when dry with water and a 3m pad.. rinse several times
They make some good stuff. But we couldn’t find anymore in panama and had to ship some total boat down.

you realize that most of the 'work' video is almost a year old, and pieced together from colin's stack and his own clips- what do you think ten minutes of fresh work video in the whole thing?? whats your thought on his recent video descriptions about flaming and throwing under the bus the local yard crew? was that fun? what about when he asked advice from Parlay AND FREEDOM, about his stringer and bulkhead repair quality, trying to get them to say his 'worker' had gone light on the resins?- and nobody would confirm him, but Peter said you could do more.., and then Colin, said ya great.. and walked off the boat, and david said, yeah! colin said it was cool!' did you like that? was that informative? im glad neither peter, nor colin, said, 'yeah yer yard workers did a shit job.' that wouldve both busted the yard (which is small), and sent david into a manic whirlwind of downward spiral and probably sacrificed his families well-being. How would that have felt? Would David have thrown the yard under the bus or said- I should have been onsite working? Thoughts on character?

Great to finally see the progress on your boat! You learned a lot since you first arrived in Linton Bay for sure. Indeed the inner side of the hull over the door is most stressed and the force vectors should spread out diagonally there. Reinforcing it is a good thing while you are at it, but I am certain it would not have cracked if the bulkhead would not have given way first.
Totally true! Bulkheads were the weakest link!!! Hopefully work a super strong beam and tripled bulkheads, this will never happen again!!!!

I haven't seen any videos of the installation of the official Lagoon repair kit. Has anyone seen that? I can't believe its anywhere as through as this... I want to buy a used Lagoon 46 or 50 but man they better have one hell of a fixer-upper kit for the 450 or funk dat.
the lagoon repair kit is great, but only for the bent bulkheads. they don't address the cracked tabbing that happens and also the bent beam. People are inspecting the bulkheads only so lagoon made a kit for the bulkheads only. if you get a fixer upper 450, i got a guy for you...carlos can probably do the whole job himself now!
DUDE your energy is amazing. Your repair segments are much more comical than Collins! Although he is the man!!! i used the west system to do some repairs on my 1989 power boat its super easy once you learn the lil tricks like you have. I like the lasagna trays( yes I'm Italian and I'm from NY) I'm gonna do that the next time and yes I got it in my hair and funny thing is I did it after I saw Collin do it. Keep the vids coming I love how you have collaborated with Collins cannel too

There's a couple with a toddler and newborn just above the Maldives and headed south. Several have suggested looking at Colin's video's and I'll mention you as well. The bulkheads are flexing worse as they sail. The cracks getting bigger and bigger. Just waiting on them reporting the damages. I hope you all can be of help.

@@mary_shih We used to call them smokers hihihi. The finishers were the worst ones with the Jell coat repairs, mix it up in a plastic cup, you can't hold it for long though unless you have fireproof hands.

Also wet epoxy can be cleaned up with alcohol also for 5200
I tried some 72% and 95% alcohol a few times but I could never get it as clean as acetone! Maybe I didn’t use enough.

um... yes... 500's break so much worse when they break. we saw one in linton bay that literally cracked all the way across the bulkhead wall... like a massive 4 ft crack and separation. that being said, i really love the 500. just make sure you inspect carefully

To be honest I was a bit worried it was too repetitive since we were glassing the same section over and over. But I felt like the multiple sessions was important to show. @@david_shih Hi David, I live in Sydney, New South Wales Australia. We live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney which is beautiful. We have Pittwater as our port and the area is surrounded by National Parks. Pittwater also gives you access to Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River. We have great anchorages and fantastic beaches. Facilities for yachts is first class via the Royal Motor Yacht Club or the Royal Prince Alfred or one of the Marinas. Pittwater is about 18 nautical miles north of Sydney Harbour. As i said. It has great anchorages with moorings such as the Basin, Refuge Bay or Mackerel Beach. Very sheltered.
I hope to see some great fishing videos of yours, tuna, wahoo mahai and even Marlin as you troll while sailing.

Does anyone know, am I wrong in thinking that if you use a laminating epoxy, you won't have to sand or use peelply between layers until the final layer? Just wondering.
I know a whole lot about very little. I know epoxy resin and 1708 biax fiberglass, but you totally lost me at “laminating.”
Yes mark laminating epoxy is just that for add additional layers glass next layer has to be added before 24 or 48 hrs ad then after last layer you cover it completely air tight and it drys completely. Check west system and get their book it explains all of it if you can afford west system epoxy get it. It’s the best as far as I’m concerned very expensive though JT HOOKED N ROLLING OFFSHORE

David, i feel like you're improving on what Colin said, Saving time, however I'm confused your boat came out a little before Parlay Revival and you did sea trials already isn't this the footage from back then? or are you finishing work that you needed to do already?
Sorry for the confusing time line….I’m a bit behind and still trying to catch up to real-time. This is from back then when we were on the hard next to parlay….the next few videos will be us continuing to fix everything and then finally splashing the boat. UA-cam time vs real time is always a bit annoying, but it’s really hard to do the boatwork and also edit (for me at least). Most channels are about 6 months behind but is really like to get to within a few weeks.
