Great video!! . Many of our Canadian relatives worked for CNR or CPR in several capacities. I had 4 years of French in school and like you probably couldn't have a conversation. I can read menus and street signs Thanks RR😀😀💚💚
Montreal is a beautiful city!!! American Airlines has non stop flights from LaGuardia to Montreal and they used to fly nonstop to both Toronto and Montreal from JFK but stopped ever since the pandemic
Glad you were able to make it to Dorval! It has more activity than I would have thought. I live near the CP mainline in Toronto, so some of the trains I see on overpasses must be headed that way.
Very interesting and informative video. I nominate RR to be the new star host of Smithsonian Channel's Mighty Trains series, which is produced in Canada. Our family arrived up north by boat (not train) in the 1840s (settled in Elora near Toronto) but left for CT/VT/NH/ME and NJ in the early 1900s. Missed having that back-up passport and free medical care by one generation dang-it. Our bucket list includes a trans-Canadian rail trip. Go Avs!
As someone who grew up near Budd's plant, I am anti Bombardier (I'm joking). I have always loved CP's PAC Man logo and watching them with the Delaware and Hudson geeps in South Philly when they had would work down there. Love the VIA F40PHS, my favorite passenger locomotives.
Took the train from Montreal to Toronto back in March and it was probably the most uncomfortable train ride I’ve ever had lmao. We weren’t delayed at all on the way there, but my goodness, I’ve been spoiled with the comfortable concrete ties and moveable point switches! Very bumpy and rocky when going through switches.
do VIA's F40s have 645-series prime movers? they sound more like the 710-series found in the SD60s and PL42AC than the F40s on NJT and Metra. Also why do I feel like it has the same HEP system as the P42DC engines?
That Canadian Pacific train might be going to Schiller Park near Chicago
Always welcome to Canada.
Nice to see action from another country. Thanks RTF.
Planning a Toronto trip in the fall
Beinvenue au Quebec nice train journey
Eastbound CP starts out in Chicago at Schiller Park, heads east to Montreal, Quebec, Canada
9:31 the lead unit was Actually a AC4400CWM one of the engines that was rebuilt
Good stuff. Loads of info as usual! My first and only trip to Canada was Oct 2018. Hamilton then Toronto.
This is a fun video! I'd only been here via bus, heh! Nice watching spot.
Nice! I’m hoping to go to Canada one day.

Air Canada still goes non stop between LGA-YUL.
Aweosme video! Loving the new intro!
Must be something hearing some of the announcements in Québecois French
The planes you didn't have any comments are has follows, 1st one I believe is Air Algerie 330 heading to Algiers, and the 2nd one is Air Transat 330.

Yes all of those trains should be going into Montreal. I think they only run about 10 train today and there are no more Expressway trains
I’ve always loved Canadian trains and how they take so much inspiration from the US. Awesome catches!!
In many ways American railroads have taken inspiration from Canada
We’re also in Bombardiers backyard here They are headquartered in Dorval
Great video
