It was definitely a little difficult to convert the terms but the visual aspect pulled it all together. I'd forgotten what your term for our triple crochet was so I'm glad to have picked that up again. Personally, i think this is the best looking skull pattern I've seen on UA-cam yet and the simplicity of the pattern makes it all that much more appealing. Thanks so much for sharing.
I have tried every skull pattern on you tube.. This is definitely the best and easiest. It really doesn't matter if they are Uk or US stitches because it it very plain to see what is being done. I love it! Thank you so much.
1st of all as far as I see in this video it's stating to DC (double crochet ) in video in most of the steps if you pay really close attention in US form it's sc ( single crochet ) stitches. Unless maybe the video was made in the UK. The UK stitch translation is total different than the US pattern steps (crochet stitches)
It seems extra knowledge can cause confusion! I only started crochet about 2 weeks ago, have just done basic granny squares and this was my first attempt at something different.i had to pause and replay the video 100 times and my skulls a bit wonky but I managed it!
Me toooo. I’ve been searching for years for just the right Skull pattern and happy to finally have found it. I love the text info before each round. I just found this page and subscribed and I’m sad to see there aren’t any new videos ☹️
Okay, so after doing this pattern a few times and having it not look right on both sides, I concluded that one cheekbone has a chain and 3 rows while the other has a chain and only 2 rows. Might i suggest that you do double crochets (treble crochets) on the second cheekbone after you do the 5 single crochets (double crochets) in the center chain space?
i learnt crocheting from my bangali grandma, so i have no idea what these terms are. it would be really helpful and much easier for me if someone could explain what the little written instructions in the video mean :) TIA
Renee Koehn Hi Renee, glad you like the video! Sorry that you found the pattern confusing. As a regular contributor to crochet magazines and books, I write my patterns in UK terms using a standard crochet pattern publishing format. Thanks, Sarah
The confusing part for me was in the written instruction of Row 3. She didn't explain that you needed to DC (SC in US terms) in the chain before you start SC in the stitches. That's where I messed up because I followed the written instruction before I watched it. And, it was the same thing for Row 4.
I found this video extremely confusing. So much so I'll have to hunt another video to finish. A stitch count at the end of rounds would be very helpful. Also stitches are not as I've learned them. Maybe its different in other countries
I hate to be negative but terrible yarn choice for such a simple tutorial he gave me anxiety watching the yarn slip off the hook over and over but I actually stopped watching after two or three minutes I would like to see the same tutorial with regular worsted weight yarn or something that's not ribbon
Ashley Parker I’m sorry this made you feel anxious!! The yarn choice, although fiddly was the entire purpose of marking these little skulls. And I only counted 4 times when the yarn came off my hook, which would most definitely happen whether I was crocheting with ribbon or dk yarn!!
This person is taking their time to show you how to make something and you say they are giving you anxiety. You are actually asking they make a whole new video with the yarn you want. What if they accidentally have the yarn slip off? Are you going to have anxiety again and blame them again? I would like to thank Annaboo's House for taking the time to show this pattern and I love the yarn you are using!!!!!!

I love it! I was looking for a simple way to crochet a skull and this definitely made my day. Thank you for sharing your video with us. 😊
Skull Beauty you're very welcome! Glad it helps 👍

Thanks for the video, it was very clear. I just replaced the stitches with the US version!

Thank you soo much I made a black pink cat Bennie so I wanted to add a skull on it to give off monster high vibes
What brand of yarn/ribbon is this? I love the look of it
Best one...thank you for sharing
Lindo trabajo te felicito bendiciones gracias
Is there a way to join these together for an afghan?
Hopefully this works for my kuromi(from onegai my melody) Idea:)
I love this skull pattern! But is it suppose to be asymmetrical? My skull cheeks have uneven rows....
Yes because u have an even number so when u do the space one side has less I'm keeping in mind to make it off so 7 instead of 6

I think she's using UK/British terminology
CH - chain stitch
ST - stitch / chain stitch
DC - double crochet
HTR - half treble
TR - treble crochet
SK ST - skip stitch
SP - space (5 double crochet in chain 4 space)
SL ST - slip stitch
@@Sepulchre_Gate thank you so much!! This is extremely helpful!
As a long time 'hooker' this was confusing because the directions are in EU stitches and are not well written out. The video it's self is nice though.

I'm extremely confused also. Wishing the creator also added stitch count at the end of the rows.
Uk is so weird 😭 but really pretty applique
UK terminology ..................................................American terminology
CH - chain stitch
ST - stitch / chain stitch
DC - double crochet ............................................single crochet
HTR - half treble ..................................................
half double crochet
TR - treble crochet
............................................... double crochet
SK ST - skip stitch
SP - space (5 double crochet in chain 4 space)
SL ST - slip stitch
It says tr as in treble crotchet but u only did double
Coot Neko treble in the UK is double in The states
Coot Neko my patterns are written in UK terms

No instructions = no subscriber.
What's wrong with her written instructions between each row?
