In my humble opinion, The Byrds and specifically Roger McGuinn were a significant part of shaping the music and fashion of the 1960s and rock n roll in general. They were the catalyst to show Bob Dylan what his songs could sound like. Taking Bob’s influential lyrics and pairing them with the Beatle Beat…transformed music which the Byrds repeated again with 8 miles high and subsequently with Sweetharts of the Rodeo. To see how the decade of the 1960s started and where it ended…..the whole world transformed from black white to color in every aspect of human existence on planet earth .

Not to mention their influence also echoed through the younger Generations as well. Arguably just as much as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, or Dylan. Band like REM, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the smiths and various other acts.

I wonder what it must be like to be a person in a band that is so well known in the world. You look back on things and see the world today and so much has changed. It must be interesting to be in these times now as an 80 year old. The Byrds were so great. Different. Such a great gift to our world.

If you guys had used the Wrecking Crew on Turn Turn, even if they did it in one take, I doubt it would have been cheaper than the 73 take Turn Turn
