They should sell or just include the standard spring tension pieces with the Maglev model... it's just cheap plastic and there's tons of headroom already in the $77 cost for sure... that way you can keep the UV coating but have both tension adjustment systems if one isn't working out for your preferred lube and turning style.
Hey Cameron, the gan 12 maglev also has a gtn, or spring compression system. It is is rhe same except the leap has spring and maglev don't has, the customisation features are the same

I know you don't like the frosted finish ...but surely it's up to the consumer to decide. what They like and give them the choice .? The 11M Pro kinda ruined me for everything else, so I'm willing to pony up for the next innovation with the Maglev, however I'll be waiting for the inevitable holiday special version that comes in some weird colors like I did with the Kun. That thing is beautiful.
I like to put it on 5 for the travel distance and 2nd loosest for magnet compression with a lot of dnm 37, i use the maglev version and i love the super fast feeling
so .. and don't shout at me :) .. do like my GAN 12 maglev quite a lot - can't stand shiny UV ...... would it hypothetically be possible to swap GAN leap springs for for maglev to have a frosted maglev hybrid and vice versa ?
It sounds like the Maglev was only reviewed as having the 1-6 setting and that's it. Seems from other reviews it has a setting behind that for extra tension. Or did I hear it all wrong?

Mark my words : maglev is a mistake. Its more expensive, no one as far as I know likes the weird feel it gives to the corner cutting (including me), its more expensive, its heavier
maglev is a sh*tty gimmick imo.. it works but not as good as a spring, and as you said its more expensive while having drawbacks, the rs3m 2020 had a nearly 5 dollar increase just by adding maglev.. cool concept, but will never be executed perfectly relative to a spring and screw
Honestly, I can't justify either of these cubes given that I have a 11 m duo. The features are just not enough to justify the upgrade at all and I am not talking about from a monetary point of view either; if I thought that getting the gan 12 would help my solving then I would get it, but there doesn't seem to be a reason to do so. And perhaps its because cubes are at a point where the improvements are just incremental at this point as opposed to how they were even a year ago. For me, I am waiting for this technology to get into larger nxn cubes, megaminxes and Squans. If gan gives us a gan 12 4x4 or a gan 12 megaminx, then I would buy it in a heartbeat. Also really am looking for a serious upgrade to the current 6x6 mechanisms. And while Gan is at it, hope they make a FTO (obviously never will happen since its not a WCA puzzle).

You can do spring compression on the MagLev, it's called magnet repulsion force.
