Another great video about measurements. Have you managed to figure out and eliminate the source of that noise at the input (around 4-5 minutes)? Looks like QA403 is a quite capable device with a decent user interface. Please keep testing distortion vs. amplitude in the future.
Thanks for asking. I did try to clean up my measurements as much as practical, and I am going to do a deep dive to see what I can find. More to come;)
i don't know why people keep buying these chinese chip amps. they never hit rated power and always have all that distortion. wonder if they have them ramp up the high frequencies on purpose so old guys with their fading hearing hear the higher frequencies better and think that it's "clean" sounding when really it's just boosted highs. and depending on your speakers and source that could really put unneeded stress on your tweeters especially with sacd or some of those badly mastered high-res recordings where they leave all that high frequency distortion in it. (you can see some of the ones i'm talking about on the audio science review youtube channel)
One day I may buy one of these for myself. They are cheap, small, and good enough for system in bedroom for listening to youtube while falling asleep.
Thanks for your great feedback. But one thing I'd like to add - it is not just us old guys - but many don't hear that well at the high freq, so you might have something there. I plan to do a deep dive on these amps...let's see what I can reveal...
@jakubczajka4275 I think at half the power - they are going to be loud enough and great for smaller rooms;)
Wow, pretty bad. Probably like many $100 desktop amps. With those high odd harmonics I would be fatigued to listen to this Amp for very long at a time. Really bad harmonic profile.
