Thanks man, subscribed! Yeaaa... Two small questions: 1- I'm looking for a tube preamp where I'd plug my phono preamp, DAC and whatnot. Is a tube preamp relevant with a solid state driver power amp such as the A08 Pro (or T9 Pro)? 2- How does it compare with the newest T9 Pro which has the same latest chip? _I was wondering about why they did two amps with similar specs, if not only for the "family looks" where the A08 Pro provisions a "receptacle" for their DAC - which probably has the USB in, it could be a reason_
I owned the Aiyima A08 Pro for almost 3 weeks . I actually found the sound quality of Bluetooth is very very good when playing youtube music videos from my TV! Huge plus to me indeed!
I purchased this and paired it with a pair of Klipsch RP500M speakers for my office conference room. Honestly I am stunned at the sound from the small system. Thanks for the great recommendations on both products.
@@thelowprofile9767 and above all the volume of the sub is controlled by the bass button of the eq, so if I stay at 0 db on the eq, my sub is really at a low level (even if it's full on the output of the sub)
Just got the Aiyima A08pro today paired with the Elac BS41 and using the stock 36v power supply. And wow!! Sounds absolutely incredible. The amp pumps out so much power I never go beyond 50% volume . The sound is rich, clear, great sound stage, and no distortion. Thanks Randy. Your recommendation is very appreciated. 16:58
i owned a nad 3030e amp bought in 1989.i was told in the hifi shop this was the best to get.i had this set up with a philips cd player and wharfedale speakers.i never ever was happy with the sound from most of the sources i tried.the closest i got was with a rega 3 turtntable.i tried even changing speakers .then i stopped with sepearates alltogether perhaps in the early 2000s.everything got stored away. Then i saw your review of fosi audio bt20a.i can say honestly to my ears even through my pc using spotify and same wharedale speakers im happier with the sound than i ever was with the nad and other separates that were lauded.
Nice review! Regarding the TPA3255 power spec, TI does most of its measurements at 51V rather than 48V. That's why they can claim 300W/ch at 10% THD into 4 Ohms. The 10% THD spec is shown to sell chips to certain manufacturers who need to put big numbers on their boxes at Best Buy. It does not mean that TI is trying to fool anyone. It's really a super clean 0.01% THD amplifier up to 100W into 8 Ohms if you want to spec it in a "hifi" way. That's why it sounds so nice in real applications. They show full THD vs power specs and curves in great detail on the datasheet.
The power supply shipped with the A08 Pro is 36V / 6.0A. Aiyima do sell power supplies (seen a newer 48V one on Aliexpress recently - 'Amplifier DC48V Power Adapter AC110V 220V To DC48V 7.5A Switching Power Supply Light Transformer For TPA3255 Sound Amplifier') but it had bad reviews saying it has a noisy fan (?). Pictures show the 48V model is also known as KS-350-48, if anyone wanted to source it elsewhere.
The chart doesn't list the frequency so I'm not sure it's .01 THD @ 100W @20Hz. My guess would be rather than sweeping, they're listing the frequency that performs the best. Not bagging on Class D's, nor am I trying to compare $130 amp to a $1,000+ amp, just adding to your Best Buy comment. I'd still buy one for certain applications.
@@elitespoon see Texas Instruments TPA3255 datasheet page 10 for THD vs Frequency curves at various power levels (not necessarily achievable by this amp, but at least by the class-D chip itself). The THD+noise at 100W into 8 Ohms does cross over 0.01% above 2KHz or so and peaks at 0.06% at 6KHz. Still quite solid performance.
OK!!! I’m not buying anything else you review for at least a week!!! 😂😂 PS- here’s a cup of coffee bro! Great review and I agree, she looks super cool!!
Randy...so cool that you've reviewed A08PRO. I just noticed it this week scrolling through Aiyima products online. Thanks for the review. I've been extremely happy with my Aiyima A07 and T8 combo thanks to you channel. The T8 has gotten more than a couple second looks and questions from friends--and the wife really digs the tube on the T8. All smile when I fire up the A07/T8 combo. All your suggestions are really appreciated!
Glad you like it. How long have you had it? I'm always curious about the longevity of these units. Wondering if they'd last as long as a more well known brand. I've never had any issue with any of mine, but just curious as to how long they'd last.
Great review! It will probably work with the subwoofer even if you use the Aiyima pre amp. I tried a similar set up with my T9 that also has a variable 3,5 mm. The volume that you change from the pre amp will not only change the lever that goes to the speakers but also the variable output.
Right? How wouldn’t changing the aux in not affect the aux out? Used to control my bedroom setup with a Qinpu A3 with 3.5mm aux out to subwoofers from variable RCA outputs from TV, seems lame if that’s the case.
This is what I couldn't wrap my head around when Randy kept saying that. The T8 would be driving the input on the A08 Pro, so obviously that would affect ANY output on the A08.
I bought this Aiyima 08 Pro after watching this video, and Jesus. Its just fantastic. The power generated from this tiny amp is unbelievable. I cannot believe the value vs. price on this one. Randy, you rule.
I'm leaning toward the T9 Pro myself (not the original T9, which had some problems) but I'm still undecided between them. What's the voltage rating on your switching power supply -- are you using the stock one, or did you upgrade?
I have to comment the Fosi audio gives my speakers which were very poor in the base area a new lease on life I no longer need the sub. Nice tight and controlled. I had no Idea that my speakers were capable of this. Very happy with the Fosi. It would be nice to get a more powerful power supply
I just purchased my a08 pro. Truly blown away. First of all you should know that I have loads of hifi equipment most of which date back to the golden age of hifi. 9 amps, 2 receivers, 10 pair of speakers budget to expensive,, CD players, 8 pre amps, a load of Schiit and more. This little amp has completely blown me away! Bliuetooth is far better than you lead us to believe. I hooked a number of music sources through my Schiit and loved it all. Stick with this amp and avoid the T9, that unit is still too glichy.I use a Modi+ for those connections BTW, love the channel!!
@@SimplestUsername Sorry, I just saw this. I have not Tried the T9 Pro. It was the first of these budget amps that drew my attention, but negative review still turn up with the T9 Upgrade and the T9 Pro. That made me leery of what may be a glitchy product. Some have great experiences but some do not. The A08 Pro on the other hand has fewer detractors and after auditioning that amp I am impressed to the point that I play this little system more than my other 5 that easily cost more than 10X the price.
I bought two A07 Pros and an A3 pro preamp based upon your recommendations. Unfortunately, the A08s had a very bad buzz when no signal was present and even worse, the amps cut off the first 1/2 second or so of every piece of music. I sent the amps and preamp back and watched some more of your videos. in the end I decided to try two amps, the SMSL AL200 for my living room and the A08 with the T8 for my bedroom, the latter paired with your fav Sony speakers and the SMSL paired with BS5s. Both set ups are really great for the money but I particularly like the A08, which I listen to the most. I particularly like the way it handles the extreme dynamics of some of the music I listen to. No clipping, even when briefly putting out 95-98 db.
Great video as always. Randy could you devote a segment to upgrading the power supply on a Class D amp and/or link to appropriate upgrades. It is hard to tell what works and what doesn’t when looking on Amazon for example. Thanks
@@Durkhead I've looked at laptop power supplies but usually those are 19 to 23 volts and less than 5 ampere, so not better than de stock supplies you get with the amps and probably worse.
Thanks for the review, i;ve been waiting for this. the problem is, It's getting into that price bracket where you could get a better amp such as the SMSL DA9 for just 40 USD more...
that sounds fun, you can make a habit of it, sending amazon/aimiya money for nearly burning your house down. be sure to unplug all that crap before you leave and go to bed, fire prevention and all, glhf
Just got this! Sounds good ...bluetooth range sucks though(even larger 10dbi antenna didn't seem to help). They say 10m(33ft) in the manual but it starts cutting out before that range ...and that's without anything in the way! My earbuds have better range! I suppose this range is good enough if you are in an apartment living room or a bedroom (make sure to enable LDAC on your device) Good thing I don't care about the bluetooth after I add a WiiM pro ...which will be coming in a few days :) Finally bringing my ceiling speaker back to life!
I want to get back into my audiophile hobby. Aiyima products are thankfully in my price range. I'm considering a t8 with a08pro combo as my reentry into this hobby.
Hey I’d like to know how the A08 pro compares to the A07 just plain straight out of the box Do you have any insight on that ? Love to hear from you or any other who had both of them next to each other Best regards
Just got my unit about 3 days ago. Sounds great. I like the look. I’m surprised by how warm it runs. My other class D mini amp stays much cooler. Hope this will be reliable despite the heat.
The AIYIMA A08 PRO TPA3255 Power Amplifier is: Currently (12/16/22) not in stock on Amazon. Currently (12/16/22) available on Walmart - $124.99. Update: (12/17/22) now available on Amazon.
Yay, this is the one I have! Treated myself to this and new Dali speakers for my birthday. Bought the A08 Pro in early September from Aliexpress - Amazon UK have it now (both are the official stores, afaik) for around the same price at the moment, and on Prime delivery. D'oh. The Aliexpress order came within 10 days to the UK, though. No clicking happening (which plagued early models of the T9), except when I turn it on (it's not the volume knob). Won't use Bluetooth much. The VU meter doesn't move much until you crank it up (though, it could be the Tube pre-amp - DAC set up I have in the chain?). Sounds lush, detailed and lovely to me!
the volume on the A08 amp is what changes the voltage of the 3.5mm out. by changing volume on a preamp it's changing the voltage going into the A08 pro. the gain is fixed on the A08 pro when using a preamp. so the subwoofer's levels will not go up since the volume isn't moving on the A08.
Errr all l can say is i think you need to try it... when the preamp increases the volume of the speakers that means more beans are coming out of the amp, when more beans come out of the amp more beans, albeit smaller beans, come out of the variable aux out, any how why don't you just connect it up and test it, i have an alexa connected to a denon then onto somè speakers and the variable aux out to a sub I turn alexa up and the speakers and sub get louder the denon volume just gets left set at 30.... simples....
Did I need this? No. Was it an Amazon Lightning deal? Yes. Did I buy it? Also yes. Cheapaudioman, you are an enabler! But I'm looking forward to playing with it.
Thank you for introducing this to us, this is a OEM product, can't find anything by searching aiyama in China. But I found sevral other brand with same feature and outlook.
I'm not in the market for a budget amp, but if I was going with something like this I wouldn't worry about trying to find a 48volt power supply. I think I'd just find a quiet 32 or maybe 36volt with 5 amps or better and live with the less watts. I would imagine trying to max these little suckers out power wise would bring lots of distortion. Set this amp at 2 or 3 o'clock on the dial and use a preamp or DAC to control it the rest of the way. That's just my dumbass opinion though..thinking out loud kinda thing
I use my phone for my alarm clock to get up and go to work with. One who does this, must be careful with the Bluetooth pairing to your phone. Because if your phone / alarm clock connects to a paired Bluetooth device. Your alarm clock phone will not wake you up.
I have the A07 with upgraded chips and just got the A08Pro. Honestly the A08Pro sounds a lot flatter and harsher in comparison. Using the 36V 6A provided with the A08Pro . I've had the A07 for nearly a couple years now, tried it with their 48V PSU and whilst it sounds like a beast, the amp will overheat and the PSU has a noisy fan (fine if you have the music loud).
I have a Dayton APA102BT that has the exact same Bluetooth behavior. It automatically connects whether or not you want it to, and not only that, it overrides any other input, regardless of whether or not you wanted it. Drives me crazy enough that I removed the Bluetooth antenna and I never use the feature anymore.
Maybe switch power supplies between the both of them to see if it makes a difference? Any advice on power supplies to get for these variable voltage Class D amps. I understand a Linear power supply isn't betturrr for amps.
The Aiyima is currently (pun intended) $140 which is almost double the Fosi. Buy the Fosi and get a better power supply with the money saved (unless you need the Aux out, that is).
@@trauma50disaster1 The Aiyima A08 Pro comes with a 36 Volt, 6 Amp PSU which, even at 100% efficiency (not possible, more like 80-90%) can only provide a total output of 216 watts. If you buy the Fosi ($60 right now), you have an extra $80 with which you can get a 48 volt, 10 amp power supply (between $40 and $70 on Amazon) which will give you 480 watts and some money left over. And you will still have an additional PSU (the one that comes with the Fosi (32 volts, 5 Amps for a maximum of 160 watts).
@@MikeHammer1 thanks for hammering all that out for me, I'm below a novice. I looked at trying to buy those psu's and some of the reviews are sketchy including claiming the 48/10 only on 220. A fosi rep listed in the question's section an example of one that he suggested but it's a box with no cables that I see. Do you know of a good one?
I am using a Balanced Dac and even my speakers are Balanced. I would like a Balanced connection vs. RCA. This stops me from a lot of amps unfortunately...
There are some good cheap (price wise) amps out there like the Ayima A300 which has balanced and unbalanced inputs and a dedicated sub output., It is 45 bucks more (US) but has an internal power supply. Randy did a review on it about 6 to 7 months back, below is some info. AIYIMA A300 NE5532*4+QCC3034+TPA3255 Bluetooth5.0 300w*2 Power Amplifier Support aptx-hd 2.0/2.1 Channel Amp with Active Subwoofer Output for Passive Speakers
@@JoshFisher567 Thanks, I was looking at their amp line and missed this one with balanced connections. I am using my computer as a source going to an SMSL VMV D1 DAC by USB. From the dac it to goes to an Iluminous Audio technology balanced passive preamp, from there a Topping A90D, and Emotiva 4S active speakers. It's time to upgrade the speakers and Amp. I am torn between an like this or the SMSL version or going to 2 monoblocks. Probably way over kill for me needs. Thanks again for the information! It's appreciated!!
You can't upgrade the opamps on this model - Amazon US Q&As from the manufacturer / seller confirm this (sorry for repeating myself, think YT thinks I was trying to add a URL and deleted my comment). The A08 Pro has sub out (though, I think you can do this with the A07?) and I quite like its quirky looks.
Yeh, I dunno. I’m still hangin with my A07, fed with goodness from my super versatile Douk Audio P1 tubular pre. The P1 sucks USB nectar from my PC and massages it with its own tone controls. For me, it’s an unbeatable combo. I will say, that Geshelli Labs DAC and that Tube Box S2 back there are making it hard for me to pay attention to this A08 Pro video. 🎃 Oh, and I’m loving the Douk Audio switcher. It’s downstairs directing amp traffic to our living room speakers. Thanks for reviewing that one!
Learn to perform some measurements on the amps you will learn more about the amps, e.g. whether the 12o'clock dial on the tone control dials will affect the amp output?
I really, really wish they would quit adding BT on EVERYTHING. There aren't many DAC's or class D amps that don't have BT. I actually wouldn't mind if they gave me the ability to completely disable the BT radio so it's truly off. My AV RAC now has probably 7 devices with BT out of the roughly 10 components in my AV RAC. Outside that rant, great review as always.
Mine refused to turn on this morning. Not sure how to feel about it. Only had it 10 months. It got a ton of use, sounded great and was cheap. On the other hand, 10 months???
The only thing about these cheap amps is the look of them. This looks like a car amp with a vu meter. I have an a07 and changed the volume knob and am thinking of changing to colour coded screws for the front.
Agreed. I own amps from all three brands. Aiyima NAD and parasound. There's no question where the money went with the parasound JC designs. But I agree with Randy that aiyima has bang for the buck. I don't know what longevity will be with them, but at their prices it's disposable anyhow
I've had a few NADs in. All class D and they didn't sound as natural as this amp did. So personally, I think that this actually is better than the NAD and the Parasound integrated I reviewed. From a sound and tone perspective . But that's just my personal opinion. I think both NAD and parasound are over priced for what you get. But if you like their sound signature and the features it's all that really matters. Title of this vid is to get some emotions flowing so people watch. I will say that I did A/B the T9 to a Yamaha integrated and there wasn't a whole heck of a lot of difference between the $130 Aiyima and a $800 Yamaha.
I do think it looks cool. Really wish it had a remote, but it is what is is. One question I had, wouldn't varying the input volume from the T9 to the T08 Pro vary the output from the Aux out? I am currently using a Wiim mini connected to an Aiyima A07 via a Schiit Modi 3, and I have my sub connected to the aux out on the A07. A07 volume set to about 75-80% and I control volume with the Wiim. The sub volume seems to be varying with the volume of the Wiim, or maybe I'm nuts (100% possible)
the only way to control level from the A08pro is to control it via the volume. unless I'm missing something. but the variable voltage going into the a08pro will control the volume coming out of the speakers. the gain is fundamentally "fixed" on the A08 just like a power amp. so the volume will be controlled on the t9 but if the levels aren't changed on the a08 then the sub will stay at the same voltage and therefore the same level... unless I'm missing something
@@Budgethifiamps Yeah I know this is tough because it depends on the device you're hooking up to. I've got the Fosi BT20A with TPA3116 and it looks like the PSU is just about right, I was wondering about maybe a better quality PSU, coming from the Computer system building background there are very different levels of quality when considering PSU's
The A08 Pro also has aptX, aptXLL, aptX HD and HD LDAC! If you had to choose between the A08 Pro or the Douk H7 -- which would it be? (I noticed the H7 comes with only a 32V PSU instead of the A08 pro and A07 Pro 36V PSU:( ) Douk also charges $143.00 for the H7 with neither Bluetooth (not necessarily a bad thing) nor tone controls. Douk must be proud of the H7 to ask 143 for it when you can get the A08 for 112.00 today. Anyway, which would any of you chose -- the Douk H7 or the Aiyima 08 Pro?
The A08 Pro is $100 more in Canada than the TB10D. Was actually considering the Douk Audio G5 because its so cheap and I have old ears so probably wouldn't benefit from a high priced amp.
I'm steadily zero'ing in and as such I'm ready to ask what might be the big question: If you can amp-roll the A07, and if its max power input is the same as the A08 Pro, then why would a person pay more for the A08 Pro? Does it sound better somehow?
Hi, Thanks for the great videos, I have a Yamaha rx-a780 avr, 95w per channel, hooked to Definitive Technology Pro Tower 400's 250w rms speakers with powered subs plus two other powered subs. Question, would the aiyima a08 or the upgraded a07 be a good fit, I had a Sony reciever that drove these speakers better than this new Yamaha.
I like mine sounds good on a dac without any tone controls so i can use the tone controls on the amp. The ldac on my samsung phone w amazon music sounds good too.
Long time subscriber thanks for all the advice and (entertainment) where is the Puffin in the the que? Had my eye on it for awhile really interested in your take on it.
Can you hook up a powered sub to this amp? I have one and don't know how I should connect it. The sub has LFE, line in, and other controls in the back.
You can hook up a powered subwoofer directly from the 3.5 mm Aux Out using the 3.5 mm to RCA cable adapter? Or did you have have to use your headphone adapter to the Sub, I'm confused.
Can someone explain what he means by “if you need to change the sub volume, you need to do it on the A08”. Does this mean every time I change volume of my music, I need to be changing 2x knobs? So with this paired with a T8, the volume is controller by the T8?
Just spotted this right after I ordered a T9 🙄 From the listing: "Full Upgraded Version of ST-01: 1. Supports U-disk input to play lossless formats music. 2. Add sensitivity adjustment of VU meter on its bottom, easy to set and match better with different input signals. 3. Add three decorative golden circles around tubes and VU meter, looks more exquisite and luxury"
I need your help AudioMan. I have a pair of the LHB675 Tower speakers from LG - the speaker model number is S65T3-S. There are 2 main speakers plus the subwoofer in each tower, All 3ohm each as well. What would be the best amplifier to run these speakers I just want to Bluetooth music from my phone or laptop and maybe even Toslink into them from my TV. Let me be a little clearer as well, what would be the best economy solution to my problem here. The 3 ohms is screwing me up, this is not my wheel house. Thanks a bunch for any help on this. Todd Kimbrell
Edit, I apologize if I am going about this question in any way that might be construed as "wrong" or whatever. I only trust you and if there is a better way to seek help please just let me know. Much thanks.
I'm looking to pair an amp for my retro gaming setup. I got a pair of ascend cbm-170 se and looking at this a08 pro or the t9. I heard the tubes are bit iffy on the t9. Which would u recommend. Cheers for the excellent vids!
Complete noob. I have a pair of edifiers and a wharfedale sub (sw150) hooked up to a creative labs X3 (the bookshelf speakers are plugged using optical cable). Woukd that replace the X3? Any gain in sound quality over the x3? Thank you
Getting again into amps and speakers today is a lot easier than last time, but a bit confused because of an overflow of Chinese cheap products, and I can't make a decision. I got the Cheap-Watch--Virus last year and bought about 20 watches, mostly well-made Chinese ''replicas''from Aliexpress, but now I need a new audio system and i am running into the same problem. I watched your other channel a lot and other channels to buy watches, and I am doing the same now with amps-dacs-speakers. I like what you are saying about AIYIMA A07 PRO, but it does not have an optical output. I am thinking about buying that, but what DAC should I buy with it that gets me to my goal? I have old Dali speakers, but really will be updating for music and movies on a budget.
What else would I need to get this up and running to listen to music with my iphone and spotify? I have speakers and all that but do I need to purchase a DAC also?
@cheapaudioman I wish this had a opti in because I'd love to use this for a 2.1 system for my tv in my bed room. Could you recommend a unit like this that does have a opti in?
Yea main problem with this amp is build quality. You can be lucky and get a good one unlucky like me and get one that has some issuies. Sound was ok for me but nothing mind blowing. For me it is like this either stick to a good smal basic one (D10 etc.), or if your budgett allows it, bzt you still want some relativly cheap amps look around 300-500. There are some great amps like the denon pme600 or itovax sp3
Ok so I have classic NAD C326BEE amp, which is probably now worth $200. Should I buy AIYIMA or Fosil, save money and also some space :)? Is that what you are saying :D ?
Here is a question is the aux out volume controlled? The issue I have with the a07 is The "aux" output/input is not volume controlled. So when I hook up a sub to it you can't control the sub volume with the volume knob, otherwise I have to use a rca splitter to split to the sub.
@@cheapaudioman So that would be a difference between the A07 and the A08Pro, right? The A08pro allows you to control the volume of the sub with the volume knob. A07 does not. Can you use it as an output to another amp to make a "zone B" stereo?
Do you have a recommendation for a single unit with all of the features of the ao8 pro combined with the T8? And at least as good for around or less than the price of both of those purchased separately?

@@jeffberwick You appear quite well researched reguarding this amp. Do you have a recommended PSU in mind to pair with this amp?
OK!!! I’m not buying anything else you review for at least a week!!! 😂😂
PS- here’s a cup of coffee bro!
@@cheapaudioman Hey Randy. I’ve had the current set up least a year….medium to low usage. No issues so far.
I have the A07 and much prefer the sound. Might be due to LM4562 though, not sure. I found the A08Pro really flat sounding.
Hi Randy. FYI…This amp is selling at Walmart for $112.49 with a 36v power supply. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. that's awesome
Funny timing with your comments, I'm in in the process of modding my A07 and one of the things I'm doing is putting it in a wooden case.
Just got one at the Zon for $85 4-11-24. Thanks for review!
Stick with this amp and avoid the T9, that unit is still too glichy.I use a Modi+ for those connections
BTW, love the channel!!
Have you tried out the T9 Pro yet? It addresses the main issues with the T9. I just want to know which sound signature you prefer between the two?
Totally agree about TI chips, currently the best in my experience and Aiyima does a decent job with these.
well there are also counterfit ones that when measured crap out at half the wattage
@@trauma50disaster1 They measure correctly when you have the beefier power supply
Great video as always. Randy could you devote a segment to upgrading the power supply on a Class D amp and/or link to appropriate upgrades. It is hard to tell what works and what doesn’t when looking on Amazon for example. Thanks
that's a rabbit hole I'm starting to dig into
Can't you just use those laptop power supplies they sell at walmart?
Great video idea!

This is way way way WAY WAY WAY better than the DA9 and the LA90
@@AbsoluteFidelity 🤣🤣
In what sense is the DA9 better in your opinion? Better clarity? More power? Features?
My A08 I got back in January just produced the magic smoke today while listening at a moderate level. Gonna give the pro a try now.
that sounds fun, you can make a habit of it, sending amazon/aimiya money for nearly burning your house down. be sure to unplug all that crap before you leave and go to bed, fire prevention and all, glhf
Just got this! Sounds good ...bluetooth range sucks though(even larger 10dbi antenna didn't seem to help). They say 10m(33ft) in the manual but it starts cutting out before that range ...and that's without anything in the way! My earbuds have better range! I suppose this range is good enough if you are in an apartment living room or a bedroom (make sure to enable LDAC on your device)
Good thing I don't care about the bluetooth after I add a WiiM pro ...which will be coming in a few days :)
Finally bringing my ceiling speaker back to life!
Thanks!
Wow, Tom! Thanks so much for your support. I greatly appreciate it!
I want to get back into my audiophile hobby. Aiyima products are thankfully in my price range. I'm considering a t8 with a08pro combo as my reentry into this hobby.
These little amps are such a godsend for desktop setups. I just don't have the room for a full 1u amp, and this one in particular sounds fantastic.
I ordered one yesterday with 48v 12.5a power supply it’s coming tomorrow so I’m very excited.
where did you get the power supply? that sounds like a beast
Bass and treble controls are where it's at. Your room acoustics really require them.
Just found your channel and you answer so many of my newbie questions. Keep up the good work!
I love my A300! I run it balanced to the DAC and in direct mode (I do not like the tone controls on it as well)
If this had an optical in, it would be perfect.
Hey
I’d like to know how the A08 pro compares to the A07 just plain straight out of the box
Do you have any insight on that ?
Love to hear from you or any other who had both of them next to each other

You got me with the AO7 fitting right on top. That is just so cool.
Just recently found your channel and loving your content. Keep up the great work
Remember the pants brand from the 90s called skids? Good times…
Awesome, thank you!
Just got my unit about 3 days ago. Sounds great. I like the look. I’m surprised by how warm it runs. My other class D mini amp stays much cooler. Hope this will be reliable despite the heat.
The AIYIMA A08 PRO TPA3255 Power Amplifier is:
Currently (12/16/22) not in stock on Amazon.
Currently (12/16/22) available on Walmart - $124.99.
Update: (12/17/22) now available on Amazon.
Have one hooked to a pair of micca mb42s I got for $70. Sounds great, makes them miccas sing.
Sounds lush, detailed and lovely to me!
cool. the power is on the volume so that's probably the click when you turn it off. I forgot to mention it in the video. thanks for bringing that up
Why do you think the sub woofer volume would not follow the volume control on a pre-amp? I think it would.
the volume on the A08 amp is what changes the voltage of the 3.5mm out. by changing volume on a preamp it's changing the voltage going into the A08 pro. the gain is fixed on the A08 pro when using a preamp. so the subwoofer's levels will not go up since the volume isn't moving on the A08.
Errr all l can say is i think you need to try it... when the preamp increases the volume of the speakers that means more beans are coming out of the amp, when more beans come out of the amp more beans, albeit smaller beans, come out of the variable aux out, any how why don't you just connect it up and test it, i have an alexa connected to a denon then onto somè speakers and the variable aux out to a sub I turn alexa up and the speakers and sub get louder the denon volume just gets left set at 30.... simples....
With the T8 seems like it would be a pretty sweet little setup.
I have the A08 Pro with the T8 and can confirm that it is sweet.
AIYIMA A07 have the lowest price ,Lightning Deal now
Want something like this paired turntable and preamp. Though i would need a remote.
Did I need this? No. Was it an Amazon Lightning deal? Yes. Did I buy it? Also yes. Cheapaudioman, you are an enabler! But I'm looking forward to playing with it.
Instead of "forget" the BT, just turn BT off.
That way it keeps knowing, it's faster and easier. Also... I turn bt off unless i really need it.
Quiet? My 2 x 24W German LED drivers are as silent as snowflakes in the air.
@@st33Npuist very nice
I use my phone for my alarm clock to get up and go to work with. One who does this, must be careful with the Bluetooth pairing to your phone. Because if your phone / alarm clock connects to a paired Bluetooth device. Your alarm clock phone will not wake you up.
Bluetooth 5.1 is a huge improvement - it's why I wanted this, of course the 3255 is a big plus!
That would be great is the A08 was bridgeable mono to stereo switchable.
Just like your car?
Maybe switch power supplies between the both of them to see if it makes a difference? Any advice on power supplies to get for these variable voltage Class D amps. I understand a Linear power supply isn't betturrr for amps.
I love my T20 with the tubes! Thinking about the AO8...
The Aiyima is currently (pun intended) $140 which is almost double the Fosi. Buy the Fosi and get a better power supply with the money saved (unless you need the Aux out, that is).
how do you get a better psu for the fosi? I just ordered the fosi for the same reason you described, why pay double?

You can't upgrade the opamps on this model - Amazon US Q&As from the manufacturer / seller confirm this (sorry for repeating myself, think YT thinks I was trying to add a URL and deleted my comment).
The A08 Pro has sub out (though, I think you can do this with the A07?) and I quite like its quirky looks.
me too
Yeh, I dunno.
Oh, and I’m loving the Douk Audio switcher.
NAD and Parasound have nothing to worry about
Agreed. I own amps from all three brands. Aiyima NAD and parasound. There's no question where the money went with the parasound JC designs. But I agree with Randy that aiyima has bang for the buck. I don't know what longevity will be with them, but at their prices it's disposable anyhow
Yeah, there pretty good, but they aren’t close to the quality of any NAD or perasound.
@@erics.4113 The whole disposable thing is the same as throwaway visitors. I’m a big fan of the Parasound tone
@@edg5367 same here! I love my big parasound!
Can you do a video on power supplies and which ones/where to get them from? Maybe how to know a good one from a bad one?
You can get the DC36V power adapter to AIYIMA
@@Budgethifiamps Yeah I know this is tough because it depends on the device you're hooking up to. Any reccomend 48v, third-party power supplies for this thing?
Does the AIYIMA A08 PRO have a remote?
also how will this work with the AIYIMA T8?
As the AIYIMA T8 comes with a remote.
Solid review Randy, no wonder you quit your day job.
Can someone explain what he means by “if you need to change the sub volume, you need to do it on the A08”. Does this mean every time I change volume of my music, I need to be changing 2x knobs? So with this paired with a T8, the volume is controller by the T8?
I'm curious about the Pro version of Aiyimas T9 that Douk sells. Any chance you've heard it? Keep up all the great work.
Not yet! I'll check it out
Just spotted this right after I ordered a T9 🙄 From the listing:
"Full Upgraded Version of ST-01: 1. Supports U-disk input to play lossless formats music. 2. Add sensitivity adjustment of VU meter on its bottom, easy to set and match better with different input signals. 3. Add three decorative golden circles around tubes and VU meter, looks more exquisite and luxury"
Do tell Rando! Does the Ayima's 36v/6a power supply also work on the TB10D? If so, did you try???! Sounds like no, and probably no???
Would you say the tone controls are truly neutral at the 12 o'clock setting?

Getting again into amps and speakers today is a lot easier than last time, but a bit confused because of an overflow of Chinese cheap products, and I can't make a decision. I got the Cheap-Watch--Virus last year and bought about 20 watches, mostly well-made Chinese ''replicas''from Aliexpress, but now I need a new audio system and i am running into the same problem. I watched your other channel a lot and other channels to buy watches, and I am doing the same now with amps-dacs-speakers. I like what you are saying about
AIYIMA A07 PRO, but it does not have an optical output.

Thanks for the review Randy I got My A 08 Pro for $80 on Amazon and I'm really happy with the sound at that price it was a great deal
In the rca input i can plug a valve pré phono?
Do you have a recommendation for a single unit with all of the features of the ao8 pro combined with the T8? And at least as good for around or less than the price of both of those purchased separately?
