LM performed a brilliant "La Luce Langue" but no "Trionfai". Actually there was a radio broadcast (probably a mixture of various performances) last Saturday on Swiss radio. I did not record it since I have my own live recording but one can expect other audio excerpts to show up. Otherwise I will post the audio of "La Luce Langue" but the sound will not be a good as the radio broadcast :)

Grazie!! I have always admired Larmore's musicianship. Finally a Lady who does not gasp throughout the role, and can convey an interpretation!

I have started to think purely in terms of which voices give true satisfaction (and the list is shorter than it ever was), now that I have studied voice for 10 years myself, and know enough about it to realize that when you are schooled well, the only thing that counts after that is how much of yourself you are willing to give; imagination loves generosity, and that is what gives her kind of artistry its wings.

This voice is in a class all by itself. Did I say all by itself? Yes. Well, that's it. Perfectly and meticulously schooled, never sits on the chords, projection that threatens the edifice she's performing in and drama for days. Pure Larmore magic. And the most inventive phrasing I've heard since . . . a very, very long time. Please, don't go there. Jennifer stands on Mt. Olympus with the greats.

There are still serious pitch problems (for example @ 9:57 = ouch ) but on the whole though she sounds in better voice than in the radio broadcast.

She never sounds in good voice.

@@acacia-bloom No. Her voice was always woofy. No clarity whatsoever.

I feel so glad to share these magic moments. As I listen to this again I still feel the goose bumps I then felt as well as hundreds of persons in the audience. One of JL's strength here, beside this exceptional singing and rendition, is the fact that all through this difficult part she never "over did it" as too many do in Lady Macbeth!

Wow, that sounds promising. I'm looking foreward to have your recording, because there is video as well! I wonder whether JL will continue with this kind of roles, I thought today that she might be a brilliant Gioconda or even Norma... She told me recently after a performance of Jenufa that on her shortlist are Emilia Marty and Kundry, so there should be some terrific things coming up.... :)

Not so great. Scotto at the end of her career owns this.

What? Is that some kind of joke? Scotto’s Lady is horrific. Callas ‘52 owns this.

Yes, that's right... She is interpreting the part without being melodramatic... and vocally stunning!! Did she sing "La luce lange" or the horrific "Trionfai"? I'd love know about this, because no critics say something about it. And I'm jealous that I haven't heard it live!

A la voz le falta dramatismo, fuerza demasiado en los graves manierismo vocal, no es lo que quería Verdi para el rol, ver Tatiana Serjan, pero re bemol sobreagudo muy bonito al final

Thank-you so much for your magnificent comment! You should write opera reviews since you have all the right words! Mount Olympus is quite a long way to climb but Jennifer Lamore has definitely reached its summit!

This is, once more, absolutely terrific - Larmore in top voice, with a floating and stunningly secure top D-flat... She amazes me every time I hear her. Thank you a LOT for recording this! It made my day completly ... :)

This is bizarre and renews my interest in Jennifer. To me she sounds convincing here and her mannerisms aren't too distracting & and she doesn't seem to be struggling in this tessitura

Thanks so much for this information. That is a scoop! I am sure JL still has a long career in front of her in the continuation of the long career she already has. As for the remaining recordings I have, it is true my last message was not very clear, they only are audio and all the video recordings I have already posted them here. However, live audios are jewels too!

great Larmore!!!! She 's becoming a dramatic soprano!!!
    Amazing career!

She’s a soprano, but an undeveloped one. But not a dramatic soprano. And a singer doesn’t simply ‘become’ a different fach.

    Sempre stata uno soprano …
    Drammatico?…
Questa vocalità purtroppo non ha niente a vedere con quella drammatica vera.
    Non mi piace affatto.
