omg. whoever came in with the base drum hits is AWESOME!!! they just break it down right there. and the harmonies are sooo freaking crazy i love this song!!!
She also went on for Martha, and she was on for Thea for one full show and a half of another, I believe. She's now in In the Heights, understudying Vanessa, Nina, and Carla. She's pretty fierce. :)
that was actually lauren, pheobe was out. omg i was there yesterday. i got to sit onstage. the whole thing was fantastic. if anyone out there is wondering the event will air on aol in mid may :)
lea michelle goes sharp on that high note but it just baffles my mind how she can hit it AT ALL. its rediculous!!!!!! how do they belt this way?!?!?!?! makes me want to go wail as high as i can to stretch my belt but stupid voice teachers get mean and say its unhealthy.....
belting is something that has a technic...I'm 18, my singing teacher teaches me the technics...and from this on you have to learn by yourself...but of cours you can be teach belting...
i love how into it lauren (i think thats her name... she plays ilse) gets. she always dances much bigger than the otjher girls it funny, but cute, i adore her voice aswell.
well they're all playing 19th century germans so i guess they kinda have to look that way. it's based on a play that was written in 1891 in germany that was banned for 100 years because of how controversial it is. It's a rock musical.
In case you were wondering, I was asking why she thought harmony was hard in general, not the specific harmony for this song. Really, neither should be difficult if you have an idea as to what you're doing.
aww...i'm glad u have perfect pitch...yeah, i know that sounded insanely sarcastic...but really...it amazes me whenever i hear of someone with perfect pitch...it gives me hope for myself! hahahaha, kidding. :)
if you must know one of the girls on here lilli cooper is black and another, krysta rodrigues, is hispanic. not that it matters though because they are all incredible performers.
I don't think you understand breaks... A break, for women, will usually lie between a B to Bb to C or something like that. Singing an F is over someone's usual range. It's not 'hard if it's in your voice.' It's incredible the knowledge and skill these people have to reach those pitches. Let's not undermine that Lea michele can sing an F flawlessly.
oh, well, i guess...there's no point in arguing...they ALL upped it a half-step and they ALL changed the key...just think...it could have been one or two of them...hahaha, OUCH!
do you know how old the blond one is ? when i saw her in the musical i was like : OMG , she is so young O.o hey in the part tha moritz sings don't do sadness i didn't understand everthing , does anyone here can explain to me ? ps : i haven't finished my english curse yet , i'm not american
At dark: How old are you? I hate to sound like the annoying nagging mother, but belting isn't something you force upon your self. I discovered how to do it outside my voice lessons, and then incorporated it into the rest of my songs.
@krispykritterlover This is a bit of stupid comment I know, but i was supposed to put a 'thumbs up' for your comment but I accidentally clicked on the 'thumbs down' instead. Sorry! :(
Todos decian lo mismo cuando la pusieron de Protagonista en Rent y se llevo todos los elogios. No se porque decis que es una verguenza si no sabes como va a terminar siendo sobre el escenario.
dont, seriously if you still want to be singing when you're older and you have been belting the whole time you wont be singing. there's nothing special about it, you should only belt sometimes.
they are all trying way too hard, the girl on the far left looks about to blow a gasket and as usual the black and hispanic are as anglo looking as possibe.
I love how this key is one step higher than the actual song and they still killed it
Hi neva

She also went on for Martha, and she was on for Thea for one full show and a half of another, I believe. She's now in In the Heights, understudying Vanessa, Nina, and Carla. She's pretty fierce. :)

I miss Lea Michele and the Original Cast of Spring Awakening already.
@Nikbin32092 YES. That's what I was thinking. She's like the only Wendla who has had no problem with that note at all, What a beast. :P

that was amazing..
lea michelle goes sharp on that high note but it just baffles my mind how she can hit it AT ALL. its rediculous!!!!!! how do they belt this way?!?!?!?! makes me want to go wail as high as i can to stretch my belt but stupid voice teachers get mean and say its unhealthy.....

From left to right: Lauren Pritchard, Remy Zaken, Lilli Cooper, Krysta Rodriguez, Lea Michele
belting is something that has a technic...I'm 18, my singing teacher teaches me the technics...and from this on you have to learn by yourself...but of cours you can be teach belting...
...as they should (no pun intended)
...damn
i love how into it lauren (i think thats her name... she plays ilse) gets. she always dances much bigger than the otjher girls it funny, but cute, i adore her voice aswell.
i can see why you would say that definately. im just biased cause i love her voice and i think she's cute.
Yeah, I was there.
IM me sometime, I'll let you "hear" all about it.
well they're all playing 19th century germans so i guess they kinda have to look that way. it's based on a play that was written in 1891 in germany that was banned for 100 years because of how controversial it is. It's a rock musical.
She's going to be in In the Heights.
mm...i think her hair's always a darkish color...it just looks, like, super-dark for some reason...AWESOME!!
Krysta is amazing.
had to be said.
In case you were wondering, I was asking why she thought harmony was hard in general, not the specific harmony for this song. Really, neither should be difficult if you have an idea as to what you're doing.
does anyone have the whole thinkg like that whole talk back?
aww...i'm glad u have perfect pitch...yeah, i know that sounded insanely sarcastic...but really...it amazes me whenever i hear of someone with perfect pitch...it gives me hope for myself! hahahaha, kidding.
:)
if you must know one of the girls on here lilli cooper is black and another, krysta rodrigues, is hispanic. not that it matters though because they are all incredible performers.
oh krysta, you so fly
I don't think you understand breaks... A break, for women, will usually lie between a B to Bb to C or something like that. Singing an F is over someone's usual range. would anyone happen to know the harmonies? and be able to tell me? its hard to disect, im managing but still.... difficult.
do you know how old the blond one is ? when i saw her in the musical i was like : OMG , she is so young O.o
hey in the part tha moritz sings don't do sadness i didn't understand everthing , does anyone here can explain to me ?
ps : i haven't finished my english curse yet , i'm not american

C4 is just middle C, so I think you mean C5! I only wish I could belt notes above B5, but alas, I can not.
who's the girl with the really short hair (is it emma hunton??? because i think the girl on the far left is lauren)
can anyone tell me the names of all the girls who are singing please?
E Major? Then why everytime i hear it are they belting those Fs?
I'm being trained to be a belter....it's so difficult :(
@krispykritterlover This is a bit of stupid comment I know, but i was supposed to put a 'thumbs up' for your comment but I accidentally clicked on the 'thumbs down' instead. Sorry! :(
and seriously...how much can u expect out of a capella five-part people? hahah
I love the people on the side who're hella not into it. Haha...
well, i can normally give an small, accurate range for notes when randomly sung...hahahaha, but anywayz...
I HOPE SO!!
it's an f natural orrca1142, im sorry but i have perfect pitch.
Todos decian lo mismo cuando la pusieron de Protagonista en Rent y se llevo todos los elogios. No se porque decis que es una verguenza si no sabes como va a terminar siendo sobre el escenario.
oh, phoebe? umm...maybe sick? hmm...krysta's in the white and she takes phoebe's place...if phoebe's place needs to be taken...hahaha
lea michele :)
hahahah, then, they're upping the key a half-step everytime i hear it...excluding the cast recording...
Is it really that hard...?
Lea is the star and everyone else there is backup.
Karen Johnson Lauren Pritchard is singing Lea’s part as well
buenisimas... y pensar q en argentina van a poner a florencia otero como protagonista... una verguenza...
Lea Michele is still my absolute favorite. Sorry ya'll; as much as I love the ensemble, Lea stands out.
it's not as bad as the Drama Desk Awards. She looked like she was possessed.
she does have an amazing voice but is annoying to watch.
I totally love the song, but Lauren always distracts me from enjoying it. She pulls my focus too much, and the song becomes about her.
dont, seriously if you still want to be singing when you're older and you have been belting the whole time you wont be singing. there's nothing special about it, you should only belt sometimes.
ok so can u even sing nearly as good as leah
um probally not get over yourselfs
geezz
they are all trying way too hard, the girl on the far left looks about to blow a gasket and as usual the black and hispanic are as anglo looking as possibe.
