When my 2 daughters (20 and 25) were little, a simple cold was enough for me to feel like my world was coming to an end. Cannot imagine how this little one's mom felt when this happened. I hope she was able to recover soon after.
Totally agree. The knee jerk reaction he had was to run into the stands and see how he could help but realized there was nothing he could do. The medical staff acted very quickly in getting attention and transported to the ER but based on their reactions they knew she was likely facing permanent damage.
I remember watching this happen live. When I saw almoroa's reaction, I thought, "something very bad just happened." I could here almoroa audibly over the TV saying, "Oh My God! Oh My God!"

the press release update stated that the little girl suffered a fractured skull, internal bleeding, permanent brain damage, seizures, and will require daily meds for the rest of her lire. It is so tragic. I pray she will have plenty of love and help alongside her journey.
You’d be hard pressed to find a player that wouldn’t be bothered by things like this. I had an incident in high school playing football and the pass took me out of bounds at full speed and I slammed into a girl who was probably 14 and wrecked her. I felt so bad, still do oddly enough. Players on the other r team were of course starting crap with me but I couldn’t care less I just couldn’t stop apologizing to her. She didn’t really react to me though. She was pretty quickly surrounded and taken away. Sucked
Baseball needs to compare all ballparks around the world to Medieval Times because of lunch and dinner in a stadium and theater to protect fans from foul balls and home runs.

Go look up a video of this happening from the broadcast and you will see him legitimately sobbing. So much compassion. And it wasn't his fault of course.
There is nothing more eerie than a mother screaming for her child. It is a scream like no other.
It's pretty chilling to hear screams right after the foul ball that are probably that poor child's. Hope that little girl is doing all right.
