World Cup Preview: Brazil is Historically Good

- South America World Cup qualifying is incredibly hard. It is a very long process in hostile environments with few breaks from World Cup-level opposition. Brazil made it look disturbingly easy. The stain of 2014 seems to have finally been taken off of the Brazilian national team and that means the World Cup should be wary of a 6th Brazilian title in Qatar.
Neymar can cement his legacy as one of the greats of the game with a win in football’s greatest showcase. A young, hungry core that has returned Brazil to its rightful place at the top of the South American game, and for Brazil that is never enough, they need to take their place at the top of the world too. Only a World Cup title will do for those lads in canary yellow, so do they actually have what it takes to win it all?

Brazil only weakness in my opinion: we don't know how to start losing games. Whenever we are behind on a match the entire team gets nervous and we get several yellow cards for dumb fouls.

All these numbers are crazy. If you add Germany and Brazil together, 14 out 21 finals had either one or both in it. That is super crazy. That's why these 2 are always considered among the favorites, even if their team is weak at that particular time...
Brazil, Germany, and Italia are the top dawgs but yes Brazil and the German Shepards are a notch above in accomplishments.

No matter what happens, Brazil and Germany are always among the favorites if not the outright favorites... The expectation on these 2 teams is just too great. Here in Brazil, anything less than the title is utter failure, and even then, if we win it without playing that "jogo bonito" (beautiful game), it will also be criticized.

This brazilian team is scary, a lot of people probabilly didn't hear much about some of the players yet but everyone is having a good season, young squad, a LOT of talent and some experienced players here and there. The only controversy in this call up was Dani Alves but there was not a clear better option because those who could be called up in his place are injuried.

Really? I think you don't know Brazil well then. For me it's still an immature and physically weak team. Both in height and in physical strength, but it is very technical. However, that alone is not enough. I don't see all that hope in this team.

Well, the brazilian formation today worked against Serbia! 2-0 Brazil 🇧🇷 Both goals from Richarlisson. I certain it is the beautiful goal from the entire Cup until now
Group G is the toughest group in the tournament in my oponion, even for Brazil. Argentina is also really good, and they showed how to beat Brazil: turn the game into a UFC match.
And guess what everyone is doing against Brazil? Fucking beat the crap out of the players, switching who is doing it so no one gets a yellow or red. Tite is fucking mad.

Coutinho was not selected for the squad, most likely due to an injury he's been through recently. Everton Ribeiro from Flamengo (who is also very good as is playing really well in the Brazilian national league) was selected in his place.
Coutinho was never going to make the cut considering he struggled with Aston Villa as of late. Happy he didn't make the cut, not a fan of Everton Ribeiro myself as I don't think he's good enough to represent out country. All in all the squad is ok but it's Tite and how he sets up his team that could make or break this WC.
Everton Ribeiro is a bad option, by the way... Even in the Brazilian league there's players with better performances this season

Individually, Brazilians miss past generations and our great stars. However, collectively, I think 2022 is the most enjoyable team to see play since 1986. We won 94 with an efficient and tied game. 2002 was the greatest striker in history, Ronaldo, with ET R.Gaúcho, Rivaldo, Kaka(reserve), R.Carlos and Cafú(The gods of football couldn't refuse to give us the title)

Very true 2014 was kinda exactly the opposite of the 2002 World Cup where one of the best brazil teams of all time had to play the worst german team in history.
7:40 Actually, Tite was very skeptical with Vinicius for quite some time and only included him on the selecao list after a neymar injury. He can be really stubborn sometimes, preferring to stick with players that he know. But anyways, I think he's going to shine at the World cup
It wasn't a easy transition, Brazil wasn't made to have a LW like Vini, Tite made a slow and smooth transition so in the last games we finally see a Vini Jr in a good a form for Brazil, it wasn't Vini that adapted to the team it was Tite who adapted the team to Vini in way we can play with his strengths
I really don't believe we're going to see Vinicius JR playing during the world cup, even less shining.

8:22 ironically , Tite was exactly like this during the 2018 World cup cycle. The team was very good but he refused to experiment and change the tactics, hence the team got predictable.
As a Brazilian I felt that after 2014 the general population started loving football a little less. It’s a new generation that has never seen Brazil win a World Cup. This year some people decided keeping working during the match. In the previous years it was like holiday.

In the infamous 7-1 from Germany against Brazil in the Mineirão stadium there were not only children crying, but full grown adults. We have developed a culture of LOVING soccer (futebol), losing in our own home with that score destroyed everyone, some interviews from the german players showed how sad it was, the whole crowd was dead silent (and that is coming from the brazillian crowd, known for even police involvement for their lack of limits), there were players crying on the field because of the score, and for like a year nobody could remember soccer without having the memory of that unfortunate game...
but it will never be like that again. We will win, a copa é nossa!!!!!!!!!!!
Thing is with World Cups: you just cant have a bad day even for Brazil. There's so many strong countries out there and if you arent playing your A-game you will be send home. Serbia and Zwitserland are no pushovers and they need to perform at their best to beat them.

This group phase is sneaky more difficult than it looks like. Both Serbia and Switzerland are in better form than they were 4 years ago and Cameroon isnt good enough to take points away from them, so there is a chance that things take a turn for the worst very quick in this group.

If we can't beat Serbia and Switzerland, we'd be hopeless against Argentina and France. Fortunately Brazil is more than capable of beating them considering we have the best team since 2002.
You said based on trends, they wont win this WC, but would win in 2026. Well ironically, the US and Mexico are 2 of the 3 hosts in that WC. The last WC held in the US was won by Brazil in 1994 an they have also won one hosted by Mexico in 1970. That being said, Brazil to me is THE favorite to win this WC.
Brazil has broken all records in the qualifyings, has a solid and consistent tactic work, has an abundent and talented squad that any other selection has, and our main rival nowadays (France) has lost many good players and hasn`t been making good presentations. Great breakdown. My only disagreement would probably be that South America is the hardest qualifying arena. Maybe for some teams it is. I think half the Conmebol teams go, whereas in UEFA it's 13 out of 32. If you're Brazil or Argentina or Uruguay I really don't think there's much challenge--whereas we see regular oddball European teams eliminating Italy, Netherlands, England, and so on.
Idk though, could be right. Also I don't know if I'd say they 'win their cups in bunches.' It seems difficult to pick out a pattern from something that's happened so rarely.
its easier to qualify from south america for a big team however each game is on average harder in south america than in europe.
