carla with the art bears ! - how could i miss this concert ??? - where was i, in september 2010 ??? - beautiful rendering of "the hermit" (one of my favourites in the album !) - can anyone tell who is the girl singing with dagmar ?
To Lilly Huynh: Sometimes, when this 'type' of music is well performed (as in this case), it definitely DOES sound kind of creepy - but I think that is part of the sound that they're going for. Another word for it is 'unsettling' but it is also beautiful. I believe part of the reason for making music that is 'creepy' is that quite often there are things in life that really ARE creepy (much of it is due to thoughtless behavior of people: "They know not what they do.") and the creepiness in the music forces one to face those things - which if one does, he or she can be much better off for it afterwards as a person - though they may not see this at first.
Yes! been there! many thanks for the memories 🙌
Carla Kihlstedt (violin, voice), Zeena Parkins (keyboards, accordion), Kristin Slipp (voice) in addition to the original trio, according to Wikipedia.
And Chris Cutler on Drums

WHOA!
Wondrous!
Still!
It's been so long. Is that Frith on guitar?
So Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Jannik Top, The Art Bears, Thierry Zaboitzeff and Gong on the same bill?!
I hope this will be released on DVD or at least on cd
Nice to see Carla Kihlstedt there. :)
Zeena Parkins too. :)
it's funny how the camera is on violinist while the guitarist is soloing. hahah
And there I was giving up on music in the 21st century....
Then I discover these ...
It was written in 1979, so...
Lotsa women here.. Good! We need more female input into "alternate" music.
RIO bands have always had women in them. Zuehl too.
It's only beautiful music but I love it !
'tain... J'habite à côté et j'ai raté ça. *Part se jeter dans le Lot*
just isn't working for me. ( singers are a tad flat or off tone completely )
The singers sound very under-rehearsed early on.
@@pettra1 Aw but so perfect.
