I recently adopted a stray kitten and she had fleas and earmites. I used Diatomaceous earth for fleas and a flea comb. Gone in days. I used Organic coconut oil in her ears, twice in fist week and once again a week later and her ears are spotless. It's safe, edible - even good for cats in small amounts, no fuss - not even needing to be dissolved (just a small marble size dulop in each) but then rubbing ears warms right up. Her ears are spotless!
Did you only put coconut oil in your cat's ear? Or did you also clean the ears after putting oil in them?
@@fatimahnaushad8664 I folded down ear and held down while rubbing. I didn't need to clean them. She shook her head a lot after and cleans with paws. Also if your very gentle and cat will tolerate you can rub your smallest nail free fingertip in there and they might even like it :) I would be afraid to stick things in the ear otherwise like q-tips. Yes, only coconut Oil.
@@survivormary1126one of mine hates the oil. He accepts it because he knows I'm doing something good. I'm fighting against those evil mites. He seems to be scratching less and less but still his ears produce that black wax. I'm hopeful. I've bought some castor oil. Let's see if this helps more than the oil I purchased earlier.
@@rober4 I don't think it's black wax, but I'm not a Vet. That is the residue the mites leave behind most likely. I should think only a few applications should do the trick, but if you have several cats would do them all at once. They have to be getting them from somewhere, ie: indoor outdoor, or each other. Basically any oil drowns them as to how it works. You just have to put enough in to do that. I really prefer something organic. I'd add the food grade diatomaceous earth to their coats, in bedding, and carpets in light dusting to to kill any lingering critters. Good luck!
@@survivormary1126 by black wax I'm referring for that black thing the mites produce. And yes. I have 5 strays. One of them is only one year old and the only one with mites since I have known. The others were fine. But now, another one came scratching his ear and happened to be having that black thing so I'm treating both with oil. They really hate it when I'm cleaning them but they behave and not even try to bit or scratch me, so I'm lucky for that. I hope I can get rid of the mites. It breaks my heart seeing them scratching and tearing their skin due to the itchiness. Let's hope
Thankyou!!! Coconut oil with neem oil cured my cats ear mites. 👍🙋♀️
could you pls tell me how should it use.and how often should use it
Listen to the man in the video
I appreciate so many of your videos & how you help us treat our pets at home saving us $1000s. You are an earth angel!🤗❤️
I thought I appreciated this advice until I did it to my cat twice a day for an entire month. It didn't work.
Thank you so much. I can’t afford the vet right now and my cat has had ear mites since I got her but I didn’t become aware until recently bc I thought her ears just dirty so I started the cleaning process until I realized that it was such a foul smell so I looked into it and every product I found on the internet didn’t seem safe enough. Will definitely be trying this today
Hey, did you try? Did it work?
Update your comment, was this method effective? My cat has ear mite for a year and I have tried every medicine, please tell me if it worked or not
I’ve been trying to get rid of my cats ear mites since I got him from the shelter! They tricked me but we love him, I now know why a 7 year old fat cat was left at the shelter, he’s had bad ear mites. I can’t get him to the vet at this time. Thanx will try this combo. The aloe Vera gel has helped some
Did it work?!! It didn't for me and I treated my cat for an entire month strait!
@@JQNobodycastor oil didn't work?
Thank you. I tried otc ear mite medication. The internets #1 recommended medication and it made my cat scream in pain all day. I was in tears and shaking I felt so bad that I put that sh*t in its ears. I looked at the reviews and many others had the same issue with that hartz brand. It has pyrethins in it which says online that is toxic amd should never be used on cats. So thank you
I will never forget googling "hartz killed my cat" after a flea application on my twelve yr old cat. The list of videos and complaints saying same was a mile long. He went into convulsions and died. Thanks for sharing that! I used organic coconut oil on my recently adopted ferral kitten and her ears are spotless now. I put it in as a tiny dulop and rub in. Did twice over one week. and then again in about another week.
I must add also I saw a video from some other supposed top vet on mites and she prescribes the prescription garbage and then goes on to say many cats develop issues and other problems infections, requiring more medicine and treatments. what a racquet. Plain old Coconut oil cheap and generally one and done, alone with diatomaceous earth on fur cause they can live on there as well. GO ORGANIC!
OMG I had the same experience. It just inflamed her ears and didn't kill any mites.. I think they even got worse. You have to get prescribed medication.. Ivermectin.. there are also topical prescribed meds that kill all the parasites.. including worms, mites, fleas, all in one medication applied to the skin. It's kinda pricey.
@@JQNobody Your really all in for big pharma and pricey vet bills there, eh? It isn't Ivermectin that kills fleas or mites, but Avermectin. Directly from NIH website, "has unwanted effects or reactions, especially when administered indiscriminately, which include respiratory failure, hypotension, and coma." Food grade diatomaceous earth will kill them with no side effects if kept out of lungs in excess. The treatment the VETRANARIAN here offers works, as well as good old pure coconut oil. No thank you to any of that other garbage for my cats!
I read mites are super contagious. How do you prevent the spread in your home?
Such a wonderful animal doctor.
Thank you so much!
Can i use fresh aloe vera with castor oil tnx
Thank you so much. After spending over $300 at the vet for antibiotics and steroids my cat still had vertigo and black gunk in ears. I tried your recipe and she was better in just a couple of days. I cannot thank you enough. ❤
The vet only wants to medicate and say your pet has alergies
One of our cats has had em for a long time, they always come back.
I hope it works, just made some!
Thank you for being so awesome!!!
Thank you for this! Even though my Maxi is an indoor boy, I've been researching ear mites so I could be prepared.
Also on a different note, could you do a video on cat stress, natural remedies to help them relax?
Please and Thank You
I have two rescue cats . They were indoors for 6 years. I have given them a cat door to go outside at will. They live in the backyard all day sleeping in the fresh air and direct sunshine for Vitamin D .They come in at night to sleep. Its been 3 years. They are so happy and so much healthier than they were when I got them. They never touch the birds who bathe in my birdbath and my cats walk aroung the blue tongue lizzards in our yard. I do feed them fresh meat and Orijem dry food from Canada to prevent them from needing to eat anything wild. Im from Australia.
also their ear mites, which were not treated with anything, have gone. I think their hetter health with fresh air and sunshine was the secret.
Cat nip...fresh plants
This works great! So does mixing half ACV half Coconut oil (melt coconut oil to an oil first) I would only have to do it one time twice a year.
Thanks!
Twice a year?!! are you kidding?!! I did it twice a day for a month straight, It never worked for even a moment.
@@JQNobodymaybe your cat didn't have ear mites or had another condition apart from that?
I have aloe vera plant how much would I add? Same amount?
I put the oil and it's stuck inside his ear and it can hear the sloppy sound inside. He is irritated. Please tell me what to do. I am feeling so bad. I been rubbing but it's making the sloppy sound insid3
Thats what Im.concerned about...
You can wipe the ear canal out with cotton balls after treatment. So you apply the treatment, lightly push on the outside of the ear canal and swish it around inside the ear canal, then gently wipe out with cotton balls an repeat everyday until the black debris is gone.
Bless you!👏
Thank you!
In previous videos about ear mites you used Neem oil with olive oil and aloe. Is that not ideal any more? Is caster oil better than olive oil?
Yeah the castor, Neem, aloe mix temporarily helps.. I stress temporary. I have an indoor kitty, no other pets.. after almost a year of trying all his stupid oil suggestions, I have a vet appointment.. I'll let you know if that works.
@@JQNobody how does it goes, cuz i took my cat to the vet they cleaned his ears and gave me an ear drop but after the vet visit my cat is not eating much and is feeling down
@@anamshawol8147my cat also have ear mites and fur mites though we have several time visited vet it is useless he infected for the 4th time. no permanent solution
I would suggest olive oil. I used it for my cat and it definitely helped him, but I didnt keep up with it because he keeps running from me. I would suggest using some olive oil and rubbing a few drops in the cats ears twice a day for like.. a month or 2. thats what I read anyway. just wish my cat didnt run from me lol
My cats fungal infection cleared by itself. My cat ran a mile when she smelt the ear drops. She had been a rescue from a cruel owner for 5 years.
Thanks, prescription medicine is most effevtive but in some cases its actually the natural that works better but rarely is it. Prescription medicine to deal with mites is much more guaranteed.
Does anyone know the exact brand he uses?
Thank you
You're welcome:)
Thank you So much.
You're welcome!
Does it work or safe for dogs to?
Can we use gel from aleo vera leave?
Also after rubbing ear we need p clean it with cotton?
Thank you Dr. I have a question. How does the castor oil applied to the ears eventually get discharged? Do the ears need to be cleansed?
I think it’s absorbed.
Do you have to clean the cats ears first or just put the oils directly in?
Shall we use fresh aloevera gel after washing it thoroughly
I've been putting clotrimazole cream like you said. Worked on my dog. Now it's my cat's turn. Hope it's ok for cat? I don't remember you talking about that cream about cats. The funny thing is, both have and had infection for sure cause it's brown and in one ear only but I had so many dogs and cats in my life, that I used to treat with polysporyn ear and eye, and everytime, I knew cause it smelled. This time, none of them smelled. Bizarre.
Thank you and hope I'm ok with my cream. 🐾🐾🐾
Yes it is OK for cats
@@VeterinarySecrets
Thank you.
Does it dissolve in ear?
So i don't have to use cotton bud right? Just add drops from this recipe and rub in my cat's ear right?
Thank you so much sweetheart! Lord bless you!
I thought aloe is toxic to cats? I'm guessing if it's ingested what if they're able to ingest it from the drops?
I guess they could ingest it if it gets into the sinuses from the ears
All the websites say the aloe gel is safe for cats, the white latex in the plant is toxic.
If peroxide good first cats ear infection?
Love this Vet! Wonder if I can use an aloe Vera that I already have which is SKIN GEL BY ALOE LIFE. It has some vitamins and herbs also. ??? Thanks!
NO!
@@miscitems4842 Thanks for your reply. Just seeing and this and I didn't use that product, luckily.
What about on the skin how do you get rid of them?
Use food grade diatomaceous earth because the mites can live on outside of ear as well so you want to kill them all.
Is it a infection if their ear smells
Would this help to clean out dogs ears??
can i still use baby oil alone or not?? pls tell me thank you
Yes, you may.
Did it work. Not for my poor kitty. I did it for a month strait!
I did this treatment twice a day for an entire month. I only succeeded in making my cat afraid of me. The itching and black crud never disappeared, not even for a second!
@@JQNobody yeah i know that cause it didn't work for my cat either. She also got scared of me and tried to run away every time and got her hair dirty😩 i used (oridermyl) twice a day for 10 days and it worked just fine for her and got rid of the mites.
@@JQNobody are you wiping out the excess oil & black stuff?
My cat keeps literally boxing me every time I’m cleaning his ears then he pees on me. Fingers crossed this helps ♾🙏🏾💞🥹😩😭
Did it work?!! I did it 2x a day for a month straight and I only succeeded in getting oil in her fur and making my cat suffer longer. Don't do it for your cat's sake. The juice ain't worth the squeeze.
I feel ya, plus poor kitty probably got that oil in her fur and maybe on your furniture! Did it ever work for you? I did this treatment twice a day for an entire month. I only succeeded in making my cat afraid of me.
@Collins Avenue this is what im hearing. So the Iver works?
My cat shakes her head way to fast how do I stop her from shaking it all out.
How do I get the stuff that’s deeper all the black goo deep in his ear canal
Mineral oik will dissolve all of it kver time
Coconut oil. It then comes out by itself.
Should the ears be cleaned?
Hey doc. I got ear miticide from petsmart, is it the same thing
What about paraffine oil? heard that killes mites
Does the castor oil kill the mites' eggs too?
It does
@@nsf_oreo7685fo you have to buy organic?
Rescued a mom and four, they are three years, and suddenly indoor cats got a few fleas. Then, a few weeks.. skin nodules and scratch hot spots. What itch remedy, or is it mites and fleas ? And, how to get and give antibiotic.. can you explain de-worming broad spectrum? Thanks. 😂
Can i use olive oil instead of castor oil
Yes, you can
@@jasthomas4291 thankyou
My eye!
Thank you, do the oils come out of the ear eventually? My girl is tipping her head after just 2 treatments, she looks like she has a twitch coz she jerks from ear to ear tipping her neck like something is deep in her ear
Yes. Your cat will shake head to eliminate the oil & the rest of oil will eventually come out on its own. Ear mites are way worse than the oil.
@@fluffypink6unny Amen
What if they are the back of the ear as well? Do we run oil in the fur?
Yes it gets in their fur. Did it work?!! Not for me and I treated 2x a day for an entire month. She still itches, still has black crud.
Yes it gets in their fur and maybe your furniture. I did this for an entire month and it never stopped the itching or black crud, not even for a moment. Don't torture your poor kitty.
They do live in the fur around the earth as well so do use some diatomaceous earth on the fur as well.
hello! I have 10 cats and I think they all have ear mites due to 3 of the kittens we found having a bad infestation of them. Does the brand matter? I can't find that exact castor oil from walmart, but they have other ones for that brand.
I tried using an over the counter solution for one of the kittens (12+ weeks old) and it nearly killed him and I don't trust any on my other cats. Sadly money has been extremely tight lately and I am already in debt from two cats, so I would like to know solutions.
Any brand of Castor oil should suffice.
Do you have to use organic castor oil ? Thanks
I think it’s better to, if possible.
Can I give him this while he's on revolution plus?
My cat has been fighting an ear infection for his entire 2 years of living. i’ve gone to the vet many times and nothing has worked : not a ear flush, ear drops or antibiotics. He is currently on your cat vitamins and it has had a slight improvement. it’s dark in color but also green gunk/ liquid. it smells like vinegar and yeast. Any tips?
omg I'm facing this. cat is 1 years old and had ear mites and infection since baby. went to the vet in February and was given drops and revolution but now his ears have issues again
Try organic coconut oil because it is soothing and also antiseptic.
@@craftwanderer8802 thanks! hope your kitty feels better as well!
@@survivormary1126do u put it in both ears?
Definitely. You must do both ears. Make sure if you have other pets in the home do them at the same time as well. Wash if possible and use food grade diatomaceous earth on bedding and carpeting where they sleep. I'e never had this fail me. Good luck. @@nm3547
how abt the ear fungal matters? any advices? please♡
Really
I have same question
@@sherricsabai I used fugal ointment
Do you do the oil remedy AFTER a cue tip clean? Thanks.
No. Make sure not to put the Q-tio in or anywhere near the ear canal either. Just put the oil in and let it do it's job and kitty will do clean up on it too, because if it's anything like mine it will run away shaking head like crazy :)
So don’t wipe it out after? You just let it sit in there?
My cats go crazy when I try to drip it into their ears 😢
My cat has been in pain all day from otodox medication and one of his eyes is closed but I can't get near him to put eye drops or something I'm so worried that maybe a drop went in his eye when I put the ear drops and he shook his head..he is so aggressive unlike usual and he keeps shaking his ear and washing his eye did he have an allergic reaction from this medication or what he is breathing so fast😭is it that bad?
Btw it's what the vet prescribed so it's supposed to be to kill ear mites
Can an indoor cat get ear mites? There are no dogs or other pets that go outside.
I was wondering the same my cat is indoors but she recently started itching her ears a lot more often it got me worried i looked inside her ears but didn't see anything 😥
Did you look for fleas on their coat? My cat had fleas, and they were mainly behind his neck, ears and chest, so he scratched his ears every time one of them moved.
Please help me. I think my fur babies have walking dandruff. It’s every where. And on all of us too I think I’m getting some what control of it but I want it gone. What is the best treatment for dogs and house.
And treat the yard
What the heck is that? Never heard of. I would just rub them with organic coconut oil. It is edible for them, soothing and antimicrobial as well.
@@jerryanddonna401 Your joking around right?
Sir give some home remedies for cat's drooling and bad breath.. please sir

No not tea tree oil
Has anyone successfully treated their cat with coconut, mineral, olive, castor oil, or any oil ?! I followed your advice, except i never saw the black crud and itching disappear. I did this treatment 2x a day with cleaning 2x a day for entire month solid. I only succeeded in making my cat afraid of me. Don't torture your poor kitty! Try not thanking anyone for advice, until the treatment is successful!
I works! yES, done many years for any cat I ever had. Point blank big PHARMA is dangerous causing infections and damage and organic coconut oil works right away. That and clean your house and put on food grade diatomaceous earth on fur, bedding and carpeting to kill outside of ear.
Is your oil food grade, cold pressed, hexane free? I only tried coconut oil for teeth breath it did worked..
Yes it was organic cold pressed virgin.. etc. I am telling you from experience.. coconut oil doesn't work. Neither does olive oil. The oil thing that kinda worked is a mix of 1 tbble spoon castor oil, one dropper full Neem oil and a quarter tsp fresh aloe gel. It works. To. A degree. It does not eliminate them all. They always come back. It's not a cure, it just reds. The coconut oil was just a waste of time. In fact, a person posted a video of mites swimming in coconut oil as shown under a microscope.. This "Dr" guy is misrepresenting the results..I am annoyed that because of him, I tortured my cat with an ineffective treatment that he was promoting. Bottom line is oil treatments will not eradicate mites and they may even migrate into their fur.
@@osirusj275 what do teeth and breathe have to do with killing ear mites?!

can i use tea tree oil?
No. Tea tree oil is toxic to cats. In fact, all essential oils are toxic to cats because they are too potent for them and cause liver damage/failure. Same with dogs, but there are a handful that is safe to use in small quantities with dogs.
