I've just had a galaxy S4, S6 edge and S10, all end up as a paperweight due to Samsung updates. None are recoverable. Bought the oppo a57 for just $219au and am quite impressed at the functionality, to the point I'd say that it out performs my S10, when it was working.
U sure know your field!!! 👍🏽 I agree with u. It's a bit slow and I had to return the oppo A57S after so many nippcups, and it sending the same txt to me up to 23 times. The replacement A57S oppo was worse. Had to return the £129 oppo phone (which I bought cos I was asked to pay for a Samsung in full as my contract hadn't finished) for a £399 Samsung A53 5G (I've used Samsung for years) and I'm now the happier for it! 😂
I've just had a S4, S6 edge and S10 all end up as paperweights due to Samsung updates. I've been a keen Samsung user for ten years, but since three fully functional phones became useless, I'm NEVER using Samsung again. All started with two unauthorised updates in October 2021 where 1.96Gb, was downloaded without me allowing it then that made my phone useless for four days. This was due to a newly installed accessibility function that forced the phone into a mode which looked normal but only gave the name of the respective items being touched. I couldn't even answer a phone call or see texts. December 2022 there were 100,000s of people that got updates that caused their phones to be non responsive. Samsung's answer was to do a factory reset, which for many did absolutely nothing. Photos, contacts and all information on the phones that COULD be salvaged, were entirely lost. As a service technician I was disgusted at the lack of responsibility that Samsung expressed. They just don't care. First week of February 2023, all three of my Samsung devices updated and are now 100% useless. I can only describe this as deliberate sabotage, (just like Apple did to force customers to buy new phones), meanwhile my primary phone (S10) , has lost everything, including copies of documents that I cannot replace. As I'm currently seeking work due to layoffs over the Xmas break, this has caused immense problems as some of these documents are legal documents for the purpose of proof of identity. This is the sort of crap that happens when everyone is forced to use digital copies with no paperwork available. All in all, after being a faithful customer for Samsung, for ten years, they've lost all further interest from me engaging then in any purpose other than abuse due to frustration of forced updates. NEVER again will I use another Samsung device. The effective damages cost to me through no fault of my own, is around $1000, on what was a resale value on all three devices, which are now worth nothing.
Man... You are really a big fan of Techno product. That oppo A 57 is just fantastic. You always speak good of Techno but when it comes to oppo it's always negative. Y ?
@@megalite-unboxing with price taken into consideration, my A57 actually outperforms my Samsung S10, which cost me $1400au, and has just recently become totally useless since forced updates caused it plus two other phones to become paperweights. I'm actually very impressed with the A57 so far and regret buying the S10, along with the other two earlier models. A nice theory but it hasn't worked on any of my three now dead phones. Sure the oppo a57 may be a little slower on some functions but it's not everything that's affected. Considering mine cost less than 1/6 the price of the S10, it's pretty great performance. It's all relative mate. Good reviews BTW.
Hi nicely detailed review I agree about the display a lot of new phones in this price range are moving away from super AMOLED display and it is so annoying it's definitely something that has turned me off buying a new phone because I am not going to spend over $900-2000 on a new and I'm not going to spend under that if it does not have super amoled on top of that other brands have started to remove chargers but continue to push up prices it is all greed I hope one day soon it crashes and nobody buys because maybe then phones will come back down to a reasonable price with the good features they used to have before companies got greedy
I appreciate you sharing your views, but I think the global economy is experiencing challenges at this time. This might be the reason for the inflation.
@@emward6858 There is something wrong with phones and greedy companies that don't have super amoled screens, when you can't use it outside because you can't see the screen. For the prices they're charging. Companies are the greedy ones for removing this on affordable phones. just because you don't mind paying a fortune for basic, doesn't mean the rest of us can afford a flagship phone, or want to pay more for less quality than what used to be the standard with cheaper phones.
Just bought the A57 for $219au on a Vodafone plan, in Australia. I own the phone, and pay $45 for monthly connection. Way more functions than I expected.

What is the meaning of paper weight
It just simply means that the phone is not heave
@@megalite-unboxing Paperweight actually means where something is useless to the point where its only good for holding a piece of paper down.
