My cousin and I used to listen to this song every single night in the forest. Now he's gone. I was at a friend's house, got a phone call with no emotion from my dad, he said come home. I rushed home, he broke the news to me, and I collapsed. My whole world came crashing down. He was basically my brother. It tore me up like nothing imaginable. You can. I've done it a few times and always landed on my feet. It helps to have a little money saved, but you don't need much. I had about 2,000 from my tax refund saved when I picked Jacksonville, Florida, but I've started out with as little as 800. 1. Don't overplan. You have to think on your feet. If you have kids do this in the summer before school starts, of course. I didn't know anyone or anything about Jacksonville. The Greyhound driver mentioned he was from that area. I took a seat across from him and asked him about the cheapest motels, low rent areas, the bus system, busiest restaurants. He recommended the Econolodge on the south side because they had low weekly rates. Paid 189.00 for a week. 2. Take a day or two to get aquainted with your new location. I didn't have a car. I bought a bus pass for myself and my son rode free. Spent my first day riding around and learning the bus system and El train. It helps later on when you are looking for apartments to know the areas they are in and to calculate what your commute will look like. 3. Have a secondary skill to make money fast, like serving or bartending. You can look for a better job later. Serving or bartending jobs are easy to get. Don't blow through your savings. Usually a couple days of training and you have cash coming in. 4. Be honest with potential landlords about your situation. I expected to spend two weeks in the motel and the first week just looking at apartments until I found a job. When I went to look at a one bedroom apartment for 350 a month on the North side and explained that I was just looking until I found a serving position, he told me to go three blocks down the road to Jackie's Seafood on the marina and tell the manager he sent me. I was hired on the spot. I went back to thank the landlord and he offered to let me move in with two months rent down. I found that people usually really want you to succeed and will point you in the right direction when you are new to town.

We used to make films, write out movies and direct plays for weeks and weeks. She was my best friend and we’ve since grown apart by life, she’s married and I just got a house we are both happy but I do miss her and miss that summer. We loved philosofy. we tried to explain everything that happened in the world and beyond. we talked about stars, space and so much more. it wasn't the happiest time in my life, but the nostalgy that those moments give are unparalleled. she then moved on because she had no time for "our imaginary world" and our friendship was destroyed. i also move on and in the moment i am doing far more interesting and fun things, but there is something about those memories that bring tears into my eyes. thanks so much for bringing back those memories once again.

My cousin and I used to listen to this song every single night in the forest. Now he's gone. I was at a friend's house, got a phone call with no emotion from my dad, he said come home. I rushed home, he broke the news to me, and I collapsed. My whole world came crashing down. He was basically my brother. It tore me up like nothing imaginable. I was crying harder than anyone else at the memorial, and his daughter who I never met was sitting in my cousin's wife's lap next to me, looked up with her big bright eyes at me, reached for my arm and said "Dada." It destroyed me. I wonder if my cousin's spirit was shining through my face at that moment. Not much can make me cry because I've seen a lot in my day, but that is a pain that is beyond words. You can. I've done it a few times and always landed on my feet. It helps to have a little money saved, but you don't need much. I had about 2,000 from my tax refund saved when I picked Jacksonville, Florida, but I've started out with as little as 800.
1. Don't overplan. You have to think on your feet. If you have kids do this in the summer before school starts, of course. I didn't know anyone or anything about Jacksonville. The Greyhound driver mentioned he was from that area. I took a seat across from him and asked him about the cheapest motels, low rent areas, the bus system, busiest restaurants. He recommended the Econolodge on the south side because they had low weekly rates. Paid 189.00 for a week.
2. Take a day or two to get aquainted with your new location. I didn't have a car. I bought a bus pass for myself and my son rode free. Spent my first day riding around and learning the bus system and El train. It helps later on when you are looking for apartments to know the areas they are in and to calculate what your commute will look like.
3. Have a secondary skill to make money fast, like serving or bartending. You can look for a better job later. Serving or bartending jobs are easy to get. Don't blow through your savings. Usually a couple days of training and you have cash coming in.
4. Be honest with potential landlords about your situation. I expected to spend two weeks in the motel and the first week just looking at apartments until I found a job. When I went to look at a one bedroom apartment for 350 a month on the North side and explained that I was just looking until I found a serving position, he told me to go three blocks down the road to Jackie's Seafood on the marina and tell the manager he sent me. I was hired on the spot. I went back to thank the landlord and he offered to let me move in with two months rent down. I found that people usually really want you to succeed and will point you in the right direction when you are new to town.
