Yeah I'm keeping an eye on the comments here for chit chat so, don't say anything I wouldn't... or would in fact... there is a nice... No never mind what said! Say whatever you like I'm not really big on deleting comments anyway.
What has me somewhat curious is what you would do as a sequel if you were to do one. Otherwise the animation was well done for it being layered improvements. That breath scene especially was worth the frame-by-frame.
This was so flipping helpful! I like that you kind of play it by ear but also have an organized approach as well. Organized chaos animation XD. I have a few questions that I've been trying to improve upon I guess. How do you normally layer body parts when you're going to add shading? Like do you have the head as one layer, the eyes in another then the torso and limbs? It probably just depends on the character you're working with too but I always have issues with stuff like that. And one more. How do you organize scenes on your timeline? Recently I've been just making a whole new scene when there's a change in camera angle or topic in the scene, ya know just to keep things organized in my brain, but I was wondering if you have a different way of working that might make my own projects go smoother? Those are the ones I can think of for now I suppose!
Hi Zap, Your pretty on the mark with the way I make my puppets. I will work out what is the focus of the movement and create components around that. Sometimes this might entail making a fully working head, with back of eyes, eyes, top head, eye lids, jaw and so on. But I tend to mix in a lot of Frame by Frame animation, which is what gives my stuff some of the weird style I have. Like with the fire, it might have been way more officiant to make a mask in After Effects, but it wasn’t what I wanted. BUT! I always work from a storyboard first to make sure I'm happy with the movement of a character, to the point where they are more like key frames, before I even think about making a puppet. I find that makes for better results. Well for the bits and pieces of animation I tend to work in Toon Boon and take the parts out, putting them together in After Effects. I have worked with After Effects for the longest and just find this easier. Not sure if you're Using Toon Boom for your stuff, but in there I would make a Drawing layer with nothing in them, as a base and work in it with sub layers i.e body, head, arm. And I would Group layer the foreground, midground and background Drawing layers, so I can switch them on off as needed. Hope that helps, keep on creating best way to get better that's what I'm doing,
unusualbox I work off of Flash and After Effects but I've been looking into working off of Toon Boom if I can get my hands on it! I use After Effects mainly for motion tracking but I know it can be used for so much more. What do you normally use it for? (Also do you have any tutorial videos that you can recommend for After Effects just cause it's a pretty vast amount of functions on that program.) And I'll keep up practice :P
Flash is somewhat out dated for animation, (still not bad for web tools) I would jump to Toon Boom if you can, some really good tutorials out that for it. In After Effects, I tend to composite and add more complicated effects and/or colour changes. Like here, I animated the flame, then in After Effects I added a glow and colour change to it. For tutorials, once you have the basics down. I recommend, when hitting a wall and you think this is over complicated or too time consuming, just youtube an effect you want, there is an endless number of video tutorials for effects out there, better to look case by case.
Please make a seperate youtube account for your pg animations. I actually really liked this animation, And was considering subscribing to your channel. Only to find you like putting up sex shit. Kids will be looking up animation on their favourite pokemon, possibly looking up your channel and so you sell them sex. my respect sits for you at zero. If you want to have a dirty channel, go for it- just dont put kids stuff in with adults stuff, and make sure your dirty stuff has the proper restriction set up so kiddies cant find it

Showing the stages of your project side by side was really helpful! Thanks 🤗

well If more came up in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, to do with Type:null or Type:full I prob think on it!
I still can't believe you did my intro. Animation takes a lot of work.
I'll prob upload that here and link you at some point, I liked that intro short it was supper fun.
unusualbox haha, maybe I'll have you do an outro as well :P

♡ i love your animations :3
Can you make a splatoon animation with the squid sister please
Xanderlee Perez Ocasio
He has
Prob won't go back to Splatoon one, but you might see some shorts animation from two when i get free time >) I really like drawing Peal!
@unusualbox Do you mind if I ask what program you use to create your animatics?
I want to do the music
Out of curiosity, how many layers did you end up using when you made this animation?
you mean in this shot?... let me look... 38 in Toon boom, but that's not uncommon in puppet work, In After Effects 33 plus sub comps.
Thank you! :D
Almost 30K Boxes :D
#Roadto30#K
woot bit over whelming TBH
is it true that if you come early unusualbox will answer you?
If you have something to ask me might!
