  • This five head stamp battery was built by G. Kay at Stawell and is operated at the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally near Ballarat, Victoria.
The battery is driven by a Clayton & Shuttleworth portable steam engine which was previously working in a NSW chaff mill.
The Wilfley table is powered by a Hindley single cylinder steam engine, restored by David Broadbent of Adelaide.
Special thanks to the folks at the Sons of Freedom Gold Mine exhibit for starting up the stamp battery so I could film, and to Ashcat, Roni, Clint, Jo and Ro for an excellent day out at the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally.
