¡Gracias por ayudarnos con este vídeo¡ No sé por qué, pero finalmente me la di cuenta del concepto. ¡Qué bueno! Hace un poco más que dos meses que estudiar, y yo necesitaba romperse través unas mesetas. Ahora, he encontrado algo de motivación para seguir estudiando tan mucho como posible hoy. Paso a paso, ¿verdad? ¡Aprender es tanto divertido!
Excelente. Muchas veces necesitamos tiempo para que nuestro cerebro procese la información y luego todo tiene sentido.
Así es, paso a paso 👍🏻
Te recomiendo ver este video sobre la diferencia entre “tanto” y “tan”, y luego regresa a este comentario 😬

I wish there was English subtitles to following along with Paula in future lessons. Otherwise, it's very confusing.
Paula, what are " *poñuelos* " ? My dictionary says "pAñuelos" and gives the definistion of handkerchiefs.
Hola Paul.
My bad, it’s not “poñuelos” but “polluelos”, meaning “chicks”.
Sorry about that typo 🤯
I got confused on the "Cuando finalmente llegué a la orilla de la laguna part" and the los poñuelos seguían a su mamá part.
I was thinking that llegar was suppose to be an imperfect because it was "describing" that when I arrived (llegaba) at the shore of the lake I saw a lot of goose enjoying the water. then I thought that it should be siguieron because it was a finished action.
I'm sorry if I'm a bit slow and I would really appreciate a more clear explanation. Super thank you in advance. :)
I could be wrong, but I thought that it was preterite because the action of the verb llegar was completed and the next verb (ver) was the preterite as well because it was at the time specified by arriving at the shore of the lake so that was ví. For the verb seguir, I thought that it was the imperfect because the geese were following their mother and it was an unfinished action hence it was seguían.
Muchas gracias, es un tema muy importante, aún no lo tengo totalmente claro.
Me puede explicar, por favor, porque “el paseo fue lindo”, no era? Es un descripción del paseo, no?
Татьяна Рагимова En este caso se usa “fue” porque tiene un inicio y fin específico, “el paseo del fin de semana pasado”. Espero que sea de ayuda. Gracias por tu comentario 😊
Muchas gracias
Sería incorrecto decir en la última línea "el paseo era lindo"?
Saqué 12/15
¡Paula, gracias por su ayuda! La lección fue muy buena y me ayudó mucho. But, I do have one question:
Why was "fue" used in the phrase, "y fue verdad"? I am having trouble with understanding why this is not a description of object/person.
I have the same question but it seems she has yet to see your comment
She used fue verdad instead of era because it is the narrator's opinion. If you were to say era verdad it would mean it used to be true. Another way of looking at it is to notice that the preterite is used when we are talking about facts in the past. For instance, since following what the señor said to do (letting the snake pass by without intervening) resulted in a good outcome, his advice was factually correct. Therefore, it was (fue) true, aka a fact, and we use the preterite.
I'm not 100% on this and would love clarification but here's my interpretation;
"Fue verdad".. So it's saying the what the man said was true. To me what's being described wouldn't be an object nor a person, but rather an event. And for describing events in the past we use fue not era.
I’ve 2 friends. One just says “no podía “. The other said “no pude”. Both mean I can’t. Are these two tenses correct but depends on the point of view of the speaker? 🤔
GRACIAS.
Why is the last sentence fue un paseo muy lindo and not era? because it started and ended? or it wasn’t over a long period of time?
The English word “preterite” has the accent on the first syllable, the second syllable in English.
Because preterite and imperfect are two different past tenses, that affects the meanings of a few verbs. In the preterite tense, the following verbs mean something else besides their usual meaning:
saber (to know info)-found out
conocer (to know as in have familiarity with)-met
querer (to want or love)-refused when preceded by “no” (or possibly also any other negative if applicable)
(In other words, refusal doesn’t just mean somebody doesn’t want to do something but also won’t do it no matter what. Sometimes we can’t choose not to do something we don’t want to do.)
Paula mi meta aprende espanol . yo necesita aprende saber mas espanol , yo necesita tu ayudar con mi espanol. Yo quiero comunicarme con los no pueden hablar ingles🇺🇸
still very confusing for me
You’ll get the hang of it. Keep it up. 👍🏻
Very confusing last exercise and hardly any explanation 😢
No written accent needed on Vi.
You need to give the English translations 🙄
I can’t use your videos because of the weird smack sound between the edits. Also- why don’t you have translation in English? I don’t know what the Spanish means. That’s why I’m watching videos on how to understand and speak Spanish. I don’t know it yet.
Please pronounce preterite correctly. The emphasis is on the first syllable. Also the sound effects sound like a boxing punch. Very annoying.
Muy interesante!😀 Pero, desafortunadamente, no encontré la palabra 'poñuelo' en ninguna parte)
