~~~
Wake up, it’s season two
And the metaphors have all long been played out
But in spite of your honest effort everything only gets worse
And no relief is in sight
It’s time you see that the way things were was not to be
But with all this change and our lives rearranged
You’re becoming me
Won’t you tie the rope around
Let me float above the ground
Through the waning roses
Lonely spirits wander on
The reality of you surrounding me
Do I save myself or die for us?
Was it just a choice or did I make a mistake?
Is there really nowhere left to run?
Won’t you cut into your skin
Help us reach the voice within
Mirrors showing nothing
Water falling onto no one
I thought we would have all this figured out by now
It goes to show what we know
It’s all too much, at times I feel like giving up
Take the choice from me
Someone take the blade away
Help me see the point again
Before I use it one last time
Someone tell me there’s a way
To feel the joy of life again
Before I’m finally out of time
Rise and fight
Live for us and see the light
It’s time you see that the way things were was not to be
But with all this change and our lives rearranged
You’re becoming me
Each time you take just a single step you approach the end
And when all these days pass into the haze
You’ll be whole again
euphoric!
NEW RETURN TO LIFE DROP!!!! hype
real OGs will know this is a repost
@@returntolifeband i know, but different mix, right? the original Lucid was the song that got me into your music
@@iDoqz new mix, some new vocal takes, new bass, new guitar DI. Other tracks will change more than this one, but I was happy with Lucid.
@@returntolifeband yeah i noticed the new vocals as well. the whole thing is much more polished now! what was the motivation behind the new song name?
@@iDoqz Lucid was kinda just a placeholder name from when I initially wrote the song over a year ago. I think the new name plays nicely off of the "mirrors showing no one" lyric, as well as the final track on the album.
