This is one of those games I want to play til the end but like you said - it is too involving - But I could understand if someone really gets into it, spends a lot of time with it and actually finishes it. That could be really satisfying.
Thank you for the mention of the stickers. I never gave it much thought, but I have a few cartridges with top label stickers. Nice to know they were a Famitsu extra.
It's fun to hear about the Famitsu cartridge stickers. I'm curious - do you collect old magazines like that? It would be fun to get some of those, but they seem hard to find. By the way, there's one other way to recover health. When I played, I found a screen with little sparkles floating around. It was just an ordinary looking screen - not inside a door. I didn't know what the sparkles were for, so I looked it up. Apparently if you wait long enough on one of these screens, then a fairy appears to give you health. The fairy screen I found was relatively early in the game, so it was helpful. But I never would have known what to do if I didn't look it up.
I've wanted to collect the mags, but they're a real pain to get. Fortunately, high quality scans of them exist, many of them made since I started Famidaily! I reference them whenever I can, though I'm at the point where coverage of the Famicom in the magazines has gone to nearly zero. Good to know about the fairies! That's definitely one you have to be told about.
I saw this game several weeks ago and picked it up. I saw the sparkles today. I didn't know if it was a glitch, because it looked like the bubbles the octopus monster shot out. I didn't stick around long enough to see the fairy.

Just found your channel and love the content.
Thanks! Having the only video on youtube about some 8-bit mahjong and horse racing games pays off! 😁
There's an emulator plugin called WideNES that has a limited auto mapping feature. It might work for this game!
The password screen is atrocious. If you input a wrong letter, you can't back up to correct it.
