I can listen to him and listen to him....this is music that educates the ears and illuminates the soul, as my uncle used to say, who liked to listen to Vivaldi's baroque music....

I don't know, but to me, there really is nothing like the baroque period. It's not only the instrumentation (love those strings and harpsichord), but probably more so the liveliness. So much of traditional orchestrated music is rather staid and lacking dynamic, not with Baroque, not with my main man Antonio. Gorgeous, bright, and energized.

I personally would be perfectly content to just listen to some of the fantastic old hymn tunes they would be more likely singing in a place like that.
From where the painting? I looks to be in a romantic style, even perhaps German. Not quite, also late 19th Century Neo-Gothic perhaps. Whatever, last Saturday I visited a small town in the steep hilly area south of Bonn with a castle reminding me of the painting.
