When you said you came from a Lutheran church and no one talked about anything, this stuck with me. I grew up in a family on my dad's side. My grandpa was a Lutheran pastor, a Norwegian, Lutheran pastor. I loved my grandpa but I could not walk the, "middle line". I chose to be myself, an imperfect person but doing my best. I chose to not hide my feelings. My Uncle Dave died in a car accident in the 1950's. No one talked about it. My mom finally told me what happened when I was in college. Dave was fun, everyone joked he must be Italian. I wish that I could have met him. Anyway, I am trying to meditate for short periods of time and it is helping along ith other things. Thank you for sharing your story.
I strongly believe addiction is hereditary, but just because it is in the primary family circle that it doesnt mean your doomed to face becoming an addict or alcoholic or the latter of the such. That would just speculate and you would be put into a catergory that would be a stigma that exists today that consistently confuses people everywhere. Addiction is a disease of the mind. A compultion an allergy and it is something that is personal with the person for them to acknowledge, admit, and decide to make a choice to better themselves by submitting to a higher level of care because our lives have become unmanageable and unable to live on lifes terms. This man has a good story to tell. Im Melissa and I am an addict. Thank you 😊
Even the baddest of bad can turn out good with God's help of course prayer does work but you have to wait shoes choose to decide if we're going to do something right or wrong or admit that we made a mistake no I'm not saying I'm not going to pray cuz I do believe in prayer but you can't make someone pray that's like trying to make a horse go to water you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it just like you can't make someone pray or believe in God but some people do balloon God I'm one of those people like to believe in prayer but I realize Jeff kober is an actor I get that I really Cyrus Bruno is a character on TV but there was also is Cyrus in the Bible no not until I checked it out take us in 2nd Samuel or 2nd Kings let's have to double-check
GH should keep him for as long as possible. They need to make him Alan Quartermaine's oldest son from "Elizabeth", his first fiancé, who he spoke about when he was younger, and tempormental, and very jealous. He is a force as strong as Tracy Angelica Quartermaine.
Wow, I’m so glad I came upon this. I appreciated hearing his recovery journey and realizing what a great actor he is because I hate Cyrus’ guts and think Jeff is awesome.
Jeffrey Kober just popped into my head so I decided to look him up here to hear what he had to say in an interview. I didn't expect this. About the best testimony I've ever heard from a recovering addict. Thanks for telling us. It has helped me.
This Man Though !! never have i ever heard a man talk with such honesty and integrity, Apart from being a great actor, Hes such a wise Soul, i could honestly listen to him all day, hes such an inspiration the way he has transformed his life and the others around him
Was never a big fan of this actor when he was younger! I remember a character he played with a wine stain birthmark on his face who was very awkward and am sure got bullied in his life! But, when he appeared on GH as Cyrus Renault (a role he was meant to play, a role God, Himself CHOSE for him), I began to make the connection! Since then, I have fallen in love with this actor and have become enamored! It is sad that he has left GH and I wish him the best in his future endeavors! God Bless you, Jeff Kober! You stay safe! Congrats for turning your life around!
Hi Jeff awesome stuff , I also am in recovery ❤️🩹 on the other side of the world in Australia 🇦🇺 and go to meetings weekly attending the 12 step program 😇 wish I had you as my sponsor as I grew up to The first Power 🤣 .. keep up the good work buddy boy 👍 regards Michael
Have been huge fan of Jeff's since China Beach. He is indeed a brilliant actor. Very handsome, charismatic , intelligent, soulful man too. Also a fine human being although I have never met him, it shows.❤👍☺ I am so happy for him and his family that he has faced his demons, overcome them and is still alive and hopefully healthy and happy. The world would have been a far less and darker place without him. I made the comparrison in my mind to actor Pete Duel who I also adored. Pete was addicted to drinking too. Had a terrible car accident while driving drunk. No one died but a young woman was severely injured. He never got over that either. Some say he also self medicated his bi-polar condition by drinking. Through in depression and Pete took his life on New Years Eve 1971. Jeff, I am so glad and thankful to God that you didn't end your life.❤👍 So glad you are here and helping others. I listen/read your posts daily in my email and they truly help. I have fought depression for years and this dark crazy world we live in ramps that up as well as ongoing anxiety. Your words of hope truly help. Thank you. I try to meditate but stilling my mind enough to do it regularly is the hardest thing for me. So glad you joined GH. You are an awesome "baddie" we love to hate. Hope you stay a long while harrassing PC residents though. Just take it easy on JP Stuart and Will Devry, my two other favorite people and actors❤☺ Stay healthy, safe and happy. God bless and watch over you and your family. Thanks again for sharing your story, your pain and struggle and helping the rest of us fight ours.❤
I love him too Janet! I loved him so much in China Beach when I was a single mom in the 80's and now I love him more because of the man he became he is awesome!!
I’ve only known Kobe’s from his GH character. I am amazed that his is this Spiritually aware and brilliant, fun, and life-filled. What a great actor he is to sell his GH character! He’s simply beautiful. I wish I could pal around with him. It’s awesome that he found Enlightenment and shares his Path.
He’s very powerful. With all he’s gone through and came out the other side. I wish he couldn’t spoken to my son, only it’s to late, my lose is so great God Bless him🙏🙏
Thank you for your exceptional body of work that you have given us. You are a brilliant actor that people love to HATE. Brilliant work on GH. Stay Safe. ChinaDoll of the Platters
Love jeff kober brilliant actor listening to his story bless you man.To come back from addiction is a blessing hopefully cyrus can be redeemed hopefully but I don't know.
This is such a beautiful, warm, honest, brave, educationally raw, intimate, video. I have been on similar awakening trek for a few years now. It’s so incredibly life changing, I have but few words. 💪🏻💚🌳
So interesting. Considering he plays a drug lord in general hospital it would be amazing if he could influence the story line to his character realizing the destruction of his “career” and turn around. I hate his character with a passion, guess that’s the point, but enjoyed seeing his real essence
I love this video. I recognized him from his character on General Hospital (he's such an amazing actor!). I can sooo relate to his story as I am a recovering alcoholic myself. My last drink was in 2014 & I'm extremely grateful to be sober.
WOW! Just seen this for the first time and I am blown away. I also got unexpectedly emotional towards the end. Thank you so much for sharing & your transparency. May God continue to bless you and surround you with an abundance of love, light and health. Keep sharing your story. It is much appreciated and needed.❤
TY for your truth. I have a similar story so I truly respect yours. I also love you as an actor. You are a wonderful person and great actor. Peace and love.
I remember Jeff on China beach I loved him ever since and I’m eighty now it’s my first time on this I pad I never had one before can you say hi to me it would mean every thing to me thank you c w
Thank you for sharing a bit of your personal story. My Uncle Mike died drinking & driving when I was 14. He did other stuff too which I didn't see. I drank some but not to badly. I enjoyed pot way more than alcohol. I rather drink Plain old Pepsi. I still drink Pepsi. Pot just became legal here in Illinois the beginning of this year. Man I want to partake badly I just can't afford it. I went 8yrs. Then this past February I a loud myself to get some. Lasted a week & haven't done it since. I have Bipolar & PTSD. My father & 2 Uncles were Vietnam Vets. My father just died 2019. My life is a real struggle & I don't get much enjoyment. I am isolated & alone most of 24/7. I have a license just can't afford a car. I have 1 person helping me get to the store & appts. I really don't think my life is worth living. I miss being employed & a vehicle. I had friends then because I was a giver. I have nothing to offer anyone anymore so I am painstakingly lonely & depressed most the time. If I get a chance to get some pot in the future, I will smoke, because that would make this hell a bit more bearable. I'm so mentally exhausted. I don't want to exist any more.
🙏🙏please be strong. Love yourself. You are WORTH..YOU ARE IMPORTANT..PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP.YOU ARE LOVED BY SOMEONE..maybe your mind..your thoughts WON'T let you see..feel it.pleaseeee don't give up😇🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎💙💙❤❤❤❤💚💚💛💛🤍🤍💘💋✌🙏
Wow! Thanks for sharing your story because you may inspire some young person to take a deeper look at their own life and not go to that awful place. I thank God for your healing account. I HATE Cyrus but admire Jeff😁🤗
Hi I’m Luna from New York and one of my daughters has been on heroin now for 30 years. I have put her into rehabs and mental hospitals but nothing is helping me save her. I wonder if you can offer me some advice. I have a UA-cam channel on here if you’d like to see my videos. Stay safe and ty for this video
I will check out your channel. I recorded these videos of people I know who have gotten through addiction hoping that their message would help others. I have videos of other people on my channel. The only advice I'd give is to not give up.
It would be so cool if Cyrus had a twin who was a hippie... or got some type of brain damage or alternate personality or hypnotism or something and was a hippie.
That’s incredible that he can play a ruthless drug trafficker so we’ll considering his true life personal story. A great actor.

He is a great actor. I've seen and watching him when he played on a couple episodes of NCIS Los Angeles

Wow! Thanks for sharing your story because you may inspire some young person to take a deeper look at their own life and not go to that awful place. I thank God for your healing account. I HATE Cyrus but admire Jeff😁🤗
Amazing
Wasn't he in that 90's Bacardi commercial? I always mistaken him as the lead singer of aerosmith
Wow!
Haces un papel .muy .sanguinario. en General Hospital...te desempeñas bien..
They need to bring back Cyrus. This guy is one of their best actors ever!!!

Is he sure that there wasn't a little something extra in his wine? Fuck LSD, cuz it sounds more like DMT!
"Come on, fella, suicide is stupid. Why hurt yourself when you can hurt other people?" Joe, The Walking Dead

Tfs he is a cool guy
