Ships at the Port of Naples

The Port of Naples is one of Italy's major multi-function sea ports handling both cargo and passenger shipping lines in addition to facilities for ship building and repairing. Ferry and catamaran/hydrofoil services include those to the nearby islands of Capri and Ischia and further afield to Sardinia, Sicily and the Aeolian Islands. Various cruise ships also call at Naples.
The port handled approx. 19 million tons of cargo in 2022 of which over a third was containerized cargo amounting to ~ 596 000 TEUs (20 ft. equivalent units) ranking Naples as the sixth largest container port in Italy by volume.
Passenger throughput was approx. 6.5 million in 2022.
