I was fortunate to be in the audience yesterday for this performance. Hearing them live was AMAZING. The energy in the studio kept me revved up for hours.
He is my hero. If I could choose anyone's singing voice and ability, I would probably choose his. It transcends genre. If you want banging indie dance floor anthems, he has you covered, as he does with ballads, electronic, dance punk, dance funk, indie pop, and a multitude of other genres. Screw it, I am going to watch it again.
Closed my eyes to listen to this the first time, and I swear the first thing I thought was, "Man, DEVO is sounding hot right now!" Love LCD Soundsystem: Always reinventing themselves, but they manage somehow stay the same band underneath.
This band is amazing! This song seriously blew me away it was such a transcendent experience! I love the 80's and this was a bit of Oingo Boingo to me and their own original Modern soulful captivating and great dance songs. Love love this band! 🤩
This song is a great, driving dance song with a message that slips through the ribs like a knife and cuts you deep. I took the time to read the lyrics to my wife once I really got the many layers of the message, and I cried. Powerful, emotional, and soul shaking, wrapped in this wacky, off-kilter electronic rock package. It is a real masterpiece.
I’ve seen hundreds of acts/concerts/live shows. LCD Soundsystem in 2017 was my favorite. Put 20 people on stage and give each person one job. They do that job perfectly, and it builds to a masterpiece.
For anyone wondering what the two huge synthesizers are on stage: 1. Oberheim OB-8 2. EMS Polysynthi Also, UA-cam is a piece of crap. I tried to edit my replies to one person who asked about the synths in the comments and the page kept crashing/reloading.
I LOVE. THIS. SONG!! Heard it on Woodstock Radio this year for the first time. Original sound and has an 80s feel to it. Can’t get enough of it. I love how the drummer is front and center for this performance. Love the unpretentious band members’ vibe. I am a huge fan of the B52s and Talking Heads too - my style of band and music and I can’t get enough of them. May they have great success!!
Incredible band, and I think this song should be nominated for an academy award. Fantastic! ...and bonus points for gigging a PolySynthi. Did a double take when I saw that thing. Sounds wonderful.
@@the0point that doesn't make it interesting. Neil Peart was interesting, sure, but I'd watch Jimmy or Jimmy or Joe or Jerry or Paul or David or Darrell or Eddie or any of those instead of a drummer. Just my opinion man
@@jameshisself9324 there he is totally predictable guy who desperately needs to believe his favorite band is some kind of underground secret only he's capable of fully appreciating.
LSD sound system aren't really a band that people actually listen to, they are more of a soundtrack band that make obscure songs that play in the credits of movies while everyone walks out of the cinema. Metaphorically speaking of course.
Whiter Noise (Movie) sent me here!! Should be nominated for Song Of The Year, LCD Soundsystems wonderful comeback song and hit in 5 years! Warning: you will get a nice Ear tick from this song, it won't leave ya! Hope they inspire many other bands to finally wake and shake the music industry the F*&% up!
That’s 3 bassists, people, no guitars. Yeah, the dude on the left is playing a Fender Bass VI, a 6 string bass. As a guitarist, that’s f’n cool. No wonder the groove is so deep.
LCD is the love child of the B52s and the Talking Heads. With uncle David Bowie giving the child a big hug.
That someone accidentally dropped down the stairs
@@MahkyVmedia1 And it's the better for it. Somehow.
and a little bit of Joy Division, the Happy Mondays, along with a smidgen of Underworld too
My thoughts exactly!
A little bit of Devo thrown in for good measure
Just can’t get enough of this song… what a joy watching the two ladies throw their voices into the mix
Yea. Reminds me of The Go Team.
I was fortunate to be in the audience yesterday for this performance.

Same here, I'm addicted now! What a great show!
They are the second best live show I’ve ever seen, right behind Gorillaz
@CWIllustration that must have been insane!
@@sunsetlonercinema I've had that experience with Gorillaz as well - yowza!!
OMG ~ This is the music I loved when I was 18....40 years ago!!!! WOW!!! Everything old is new again...thank God!!!!!
The movie was so good and the dance number was a treat it feels very 80's techno and loving it
I thoroughly enjoyed the dance routine to this song that closed the film.
That backdrop is literally outta this world! Like they're in orbit.
I loooove LCD Soundsystem! I can't help but shaking my arse when I listen to them. They're also an amazing live band. Unbelievable talent!
I was going to comment your first sentence, spelled the exact same way!

James Murphy is kind of the face of the 2000s dance-punk wave, through the DFA label he basically helped invent the genre in its modern form
Strong early B52's vibes from this piece, and I'm here for it.
With just a dash of David Byrne in the vocals! It's so good.
@@sydposting Absolutely! I thought it was him at first.
@@sydpostingFeel the Byrne!
THat hook is all DEVO. And the tone shifts in the middle have some Bowie fingerprints from his Scary Monsters phase all over it.
@@robkoper841 Maybe not tight enough to be Devo. But I get what you're saying.
I've been listening to this non stop for a month. I'm in love with this song!
At 66 yrs old I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the soundscape of this group . New Nostalgia .❤
New Nostalgia...omg, perfect term for this.
This is such an awesome song. The lyrics are really next level, very coded.
LCD Soundsystem does a great job of saying random words that seem meaningless but in the track as a whole they make perfect sense.
Ladies and Gentlemen: LCD Soundsystem--- ---- the Greatest Garage Dad Band EVER !!!😃

How have I not heard of LCD Soundsystem until now! I love this mashup of rock and Electronic music!

When they perform this song in the movie, Andre Benjamin’s dancing is fire.

About fell out of my chair when I spotted the Polysynthi lol. Wonderful to see and hear one on this track!
I'm getting a strong mix of The Smiths and Echo and The Bunnymen vibes here.
Thanks Stephen for having this under appreciated band on the show👏
North American Scum was such a great song

The synth part is so Devo and I'm here for it!
Thank you, Stephen, for introducing me to this fantastic band!
Anybody else hear "The B-52's"! Love It!!!
