I know exactly what you mean! I also love treasure hunting as you can probably tell ☺ and my goodness the treasures I've found in the past few years have been amazing, especially in this antiques centre 😘😊. Thank you so much for your comment. 😘
Thank you Darlene! I'm glad you love my purchases. It's so strange. I wasn't looking for these items but when I saw them I just had to buy them. They are already giving me joy in my home 🥰🤗
A real ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ with so much choice! The entrance is quite deceptive! I hope that you’ll enjoy your lovely purchases. Your reading chair looked comfortable as well as elegant. (My mother used to collect teapots)). Thanks for another interesting and relaxing video, Rosalba❤
Oh thank you so much Joyce 💓. Yes I'm really enjoying my comfortable chair! 😊 Ah your mother's teapot collection must have been so charming and special. 🤗😘
So true! If you're not pressed for time, they might just give you a gentle reminder that it's closing time as the hours can fly by which is what usually happens to me 😊. Thank you for your comment 😘
This looks to be a very large establishment, indeed. What's a Refill Shop? Oh my goodness, this emporium is its very own version of a potpourri! How do they manage to do an annual inventory? What a challenge. Was that underground area actually a bomb shelter during WWII? It looks it. (Oo, I may have found that particular Bletchley Park book I mentioned to you, so I'll know for certain in a week or two and will let you know.) Did I see an old-fashioned Father Christmas green coat on a hook? It breaks the heart to see how beautifully old furniture was made, as compared with too much modern slapdash woodworking. A lovely shape on that teapot and beautiful colors and glaze. I like teapots and pitchers and drinking vessels in general and I'd include vases and jugs, possibly because they hold liquid. That tufted chair is gorgeous. Was it comfortable? What a find! I have never known anyone in the modern age who nursed a baby on something that elegant. They burp-up frequently. LOL. It would be a perfect chair near a window with a view for daydreaming or sorting oneself out when there's a problem to solve. Some of those old mirrors looked to have the original glass in them. You can tell from the reflection. Looking at the maps and paintings that were framed, I realized possibly the one thing we can say about the reflective glass that was once used to cover them in the frame is that it helped to bounce light around a room. LOL. Whoa, look at those jelly molds! Gorgeous. Probably they can be used for souffles and such that also need molding. Even for perhaps a salmon mousse. Or a lovely wall display!
Thank you so much Philippa for such a insightful and interesting comment! And wow, I can't believe that you are about to find out the name of the book on Bletchley Park! I'm rather impressed! How exciting! I appreciate your effort Philippa but I hope I'm not troubling you too much with this though .... Good point about the antiques centre being a WWII shelter in the past! It did look like one, specially at the back of the building, didn't it? I'm so glad you liked my jelly moulds and my chair too. Yes, the chair is so comfortable! Let's hope that I can do some productive reading now :o) Oh yes, I love old furniture too! I'm not surprised you like jugs, pitchers, teapots, etc as there are such a gorgeous pieces out there! 😘🤗
@@rosalbasden5573 No problem at all. I began a search, as previously it could not be found, and may have gotten lucky right away. We will see. I am not certain it is the right one. If it is the right one, it will give you an idea of what went on in the town around it where everyone lived in boarding house situations, so you could see historic things there, too.
“How do they manage to do an annual inventory?” Assuming it’s run on the same lines as every other Antique Centre I’ve visited: it provides space for numerous dealers to display their stock in their own rooms/areas which they rent from the company that owns the building. Each dealer will maintain an inventory of their own stock… no one compiles a list of everything in the building.
love that beautiful painted horse
could stay shopping in those shops forever treasure hunting!!
